@JSBᾶngs Please let me apologise for the language in which I discussed this type of tester behaviour. I disagree with you completely about the reasonableness of testers doing this; but it was inexcusable for me to describe it in the way that I did. I'm very sorry.
@KitFox I'm sure I didn't mean to. The IPA symbols that he wrote did seem to have more yotting (sorry I don't know what the right word is) than the Louis Vuitton Cup. I can't imagine being Russian enough to get my mouth around it.
It happens all the time. A tester runs a piece of software and it does something he/she didn't expect. He/she can't be arsed finding out whether the unexpected behaviour was actually intended; so instead, he/she just assumes it WAS intended, and writes tests to ensure that it happens. Kind of dumb, but this is something software testers do.
You could jog in that general direction, and if it turns out to be not public, or not desirable for some other reason, then you could just head off somewhere else.
@Rob and frankly, "a dark color that is a blend of red and blue" is an incredibly lame and not very accurate definition of purple.
@Rob I think you have to use an example, like "any colour similar to that of lavender" or something, for purple. Then, of course, someone will discover an obscure species of yellow lavender, and the definition will fall over.

I encountered a word dawn and I have a feeling I understood
the meaning in context.
e.g. in this sentence
1) It dawned on him that she had loved him.
it means
2) It entered his consciousness that she had loved him.
I noticed that no dictionary states realize as a synonym of dawn.

Recently I had 2 (different) credit union debit cards skimmed. The credit unions will not reveal the location of the skimming (do they know?). However, the time frame that I was given for each card skimming overlap, and as the card “a” is rarely used, I was able to determine that the only times it was used during this time frame, it was used with card “b” from the other cu.
