Her upload speed is about 1.28 kB/s, so that could be it.

Getting rid of inessential files may help. For example, those sound and picture files (*.files.zip) combined are at least 2 GB in size.

But, you know, my upload speed is also low.

RAR won't help, the pictures and sounds are already zipped, and the DSLs are dictzipped in my version.

Perhaps I should use Opera Unite instead.

Unless you are sending your own dictionary files. In which case you should use the dictzip utility.
