Q: How do I inspire more units?

I have noticed that I can only inspire one unit, whereby AI inspires several. Is extra inspiration due to some retinue/attribute/# of stars on the AI? or is it simply because AI is allowed to cheat/extra advantage? If it is an attribute, any pointers on how to get it?
