Also, to whom it may concern: I and a few others from SE are working on an SE-like site, but specifically for competitive programming. I'd like to have something like Smokey/Metasmoke set up for spam detection before we go live. Is there any documentation for setting up custom instances of Metasmoke and Smokey? It's not a huge priority yet, because we are still a while away from going live.

I'm trying to upgrade my Docker image for metasmoke but I keep getting in =~': invalid byte sequence in US-ASCII (ArgumentError)` when it's installing one of the gems (I think it is ... I probably don't understand enough about the Ruby ecosystem)

is this a problem in metasmoke, or in one of the dependencies I'm trying to install?

stackoverflow.com/a/17031697/874188 suggests adding locale settings but that didn't help here

another answer on the same page suggests adding #encoding: utf-8 to the top of "the file" but which file contains the offending data? there's a lot of UTF-8 in this project, do I need it in all the *.rb files? and/or some others?

I found four *.rb files with UTF-8 in them but adding the comment in them didn't seem to help

@JakeSymons Has to be done by hand, but generally spam flags are acceptable on rude/abusive content.

If a question receives three answers deleted by spam flags, it will automatically be protected.

R/A flags don't have that effect.
