Surely FP.
That number looks like a regular Unix timestamp (seconds since Epoch) and shouldn't be suspected.
I prefer to leave this alone because there are phone numbers starting with 15 and (soon) 16, 17, 18...

@iBug probably just fetch the post from MS via the API

@paper1111 Not quite sure how to code...

@paper1111 yeh, it's been a while since I touched any of that, but it should be easy

I haven't learnt about the MS API nor networking in Python 2

@iBug do not touch Python 2, you want Python 3 for everything

5:09 AM
@tripleee The SD code doesn't run quite well on P3.

we went through upgrading the project last year, it was less tortured than we imagined, though I wasn't directly involved in the actual porting or testing effort

I have to run python2 test.py on my machine.

@iBug huh? everything should be py3

@tripleee import regex Am I missing anything?

how does the misleading link criteria work?

5:10 AM
if something isn't, that's a bug in its own right

@trip btw when will the new blacklisting guidelines come to effect?

@tripleee My bad.

@tripleee needs sudo

@paper1111 I was hoping to update the wiki yesterday but then the blacklist removal thing happened

@tripleee lol ok

5:11 AM
@paper1111 needs sudo or a virtualenv -- I'd definitely recommend the latter
@iBug regex most certainly is not available in Python 2 by default either but I'm guessing you had it installed system-wide for other reasons

@tripleee what do you mean by regex?

@tripleee I never touched Python before... I just tried import regex in python2 and python3

And hopefully python3 failed.

its re

5:14 AM
@micsthepick the regular expression library in the Python standard library is called re but we use a replacement with more features which is hopefully going to replace re one day

okay

Didn't dare trying import re as regex

so python2 and python3 out of the box have import re and if you want import regex to work you have to pip install regex somehow

@iBug no, that wouldn't work, we use some regex features which of course won't work if you do that

5:15 AM
@tripleee I am aware of that. So I didn't try at all.
But strangely python2 made it all well.

what flavour of regex does regex use as opposed to re?

@iBug yeah so at some point somebody who was still on Python 2 did pip install regex and you have it in your site-packages under /lib/something/python2/something but this has not been done for python3 so you don't have it in /lib/something/python3/something

You mean I need to install it with PIP3?
@tripleee You're right: Requirement already satisfied: regex in /usr/local/lib/python2.7/dist-packages

@micsthepick long story, the one I'm thinking of is the ability to say L<list> to have a Python list interpolated as (?:list member 1|list member 2|etc)
@iBug yeah but if you are in a Python3 virtualenv that's still just pip
not sure how universal that is but works for me

@tripleee Lol. It's an almost fresh Ubuntu install on WSL.

5:18 AM
my standard retort is to see if you can get rid of Windows to improve your life but I'm doing my utmost to suppress that impulse now

I have a physically installed Ubuntu 16.04 but I rarely used it since M$ introduced WSL.

@micsthepick nope, it's some bastard MySQL regex dialect

the link you gave me still has \b in the box...

at some point in the past Metasmoke mysteriously acquired improved regex skills but nobody seemed to know how that happened or how to repeat it so when it was moved to a new host, we lost that

and \b is in pcre, javascript python and golang flavours of regex

I understand there is a way to put PCRE in MySQL but nobody seems to want to figure out how exactly
and I really do not blame anyone, though of course it would be nice

@Magisch that doesn't look like what we had, it seemed that it just magically enabled things like lookarounds and \d \b \s \w etc but of course I'm not too familiar with the surrounding code in Metasmoke, I can only report my experiences from using the search page

my vague recollection is that at some point around maybe a year ago I started using regex search more often and concluded that the regex it supported was pretty limited, but then a few months later noticed that somehow somebody had posted a search URL here which had stuff I thought wasn't supported, and discovered much not only to my own surprise apparently that magic had somehow been sprinkled
but then when Metasmoke had to be shut down and moved to a new host that magic sprinkle was lost

@tripleee You sure we were still on MySQL with that? I thought we had switched to mariadb sometime, which default enables PCRE

that might explain how the magic was sprinkled but the Metasmoke instructions say MySQL and the search results I get seem to confirm that that's what we have now

Restarted twice?
@Magisch Doesn't look like machine-translated. The Spanish looks good. Probably the OP speaks both.
Anyone have idea about the discrepancy?

@Magisch Oh yes. The English version is Google-translated from the Spanish version. I took you wrong.

@iBug I'm not sure that user is affiliated with the site. Also, the last hit for that pattern was two years ago.

@Glorfindel You sure the search link is valid?

Thanks, now I am :)

different people have different opinions, @micsthepick is the only individual reviewer who reviewed both posts and gave different results
but yeah, they should both have the same result, ideally

@Glorfindel But the correct domain this time is justfreethemes.com

but which is it? my vote is on FP but perhaps we need fresh eyes

@tripleee As Magisch said the English version is G-translated from the Spanish version.

I ran the Esp version through GT, and the result is only one word away from what I see in the Eng versuon

@iBug Metasmoke search works without having to look at word boundaries.

this one metasmoke.erwaysoftware.com/post/100575 to keep this reasonably self-contained

How is the domain caught by a wrong blacklist?
@tripleee There's a bad catch for "phone number". It's a unix timestamp not far away from now. Shall we implement such a filter over phone number detection?

@iBug sounds pretty error-prone but if you can come up with a good heuristic, by all means go for it

@tripleee I think we can have "a reasonable range", e.g. a week.
If the number is within a week away from the time it's reported, it's filtered.

@iBug the blacklisted_websites.txt regexes are applied in a context where no anchors are in place so a substring match is possible ... didn't we discuss this already?
@iBug that could work, but it won't fix FPs on old posts

@tripleee Just to reduce future FPs for "phone number" reason.
I don't think one with a phone number eligible to be missed will spam at the very time without triggering other rules.

Oops.

@SmokeDetector k

Guess the unix timestamp filter won't be too effective.
I'm dropping it.
