@Kalina My point about the question you were commenting on is that I have had the quite a few questions closed on this site, because it's moderated with the same seriousness of stackoverflow. However this is not stackoverflow, it's a gaming site. It's supposed to fun, but everytime I post a question I end up spending time defending the nature of my questions.

We say the rules are in place to prevent flaming and trolling. I get trolled by the mods and closed questions more on this site than any other site on the internet. \

Yes you do research, but what qualifies it as expert? I consider the answers I provide on stackoverflow to be expert, because I am a professional programmer. I speak at developer meetups and conferences. The same cannot be said about gamers and game related research. (for the most part)

Gaming is much harder to quantify as expert, because this is much standardized information in the gaming world. There under 100 mainstream programming languages. Making it much easier to become an expert. There are 1000's of mainstream games at any given moment. The two genres are very different in my opinion.
