Zen Buddhism has a tradition of riddles, called kōans, that Buddhists meditate on to gain enlightenment. Many of these riddles involve the mysterious quality of the "Buddha-nature". In this game, we will be doing something similar, but with a more attainable type of "enlightenment" - figuring out a hidden rule.

One player is the Master: they come up with a rule that judges "koans" as having the Buddha-nature or not. Here, a "koan" is simply a thing that can be judged. For instance, the rule might be something along the lines of:
