@Sterno Okay, I think I found the difficulty spike in Bravely Default.

You'll want to grind quite a bit before starting Chapter 4.

The mob encounters there are kinda ridiculous.

The bears have massive physical damage, which is made even worse by their special attack that ignores physical defense.

And there's a plant mob that spews AoE poison attacks. Which wouldn't be so bad, except for the fact that you encounter them in groups of six.

I think I have to head back to the Chapter 3 area because I can barely grind over here.

Q: Early money making strategies

So I have read all the answers to this question here about how to grind money. This however seems to be an end-game money grind as they all mention Le Wow and the one indepth answer says two level 100 pokemon with this that and the other along with a 100,000 buy in. What I want are good location...

I almost kind of died on the Tower of Hera boss (I had a fairy in a bottle, though, so I might have un-died anyway if that mechanic is still a thing).

I really enjoyed LBW. I loved that you could do the dungeons in any order and could explore almost the whole world right away.

My issue with city-builders is that I have a serious lack of patience when it comes to those games. If I'm not building something, then I feel like I'm doing something wrong.

I have no sense for stockpiling in those games.

Which is my current problem with Banished. All my early settlements suffered from rapid growth syndrome and I was clear-cutting forests left and right to fuel my hunger for wood.

And I was setting houses quickly because I needed more workers to expand fasters.

City builders require a bit of patience to be sure.

Build up a surplus before expanding more.

Deciding when to expand becomes a lot easier when you get the Town Hall since it lets you see how much of each resources you consumed and produced over different periods of time.

Side note: It's really weird that I have no patience with city-builders because I have tons of patience with other games. I can sit for an entire round of TF2 in one spot as an Engineer or Sniper.

Q: What are the rules for animal mating?

The game does not seem to make a difference in male/female, judging from the merchants that visit my town. Before I buy some animals I would like to know: How many animals do I need to make them mate / breed them? How long does it take for a baby animal to be born?

Q: What moves can Smeargle not Sketch?

Smeargle gets the special move Sketch, which allows him to copy any mover permanemtly. I plan on "sketching" out some plans for Smeargles (see what I did there), and I want to know which moves are a no-go, if any.

The best choice is the one that has the games you want on it, be they released or upcoming. If both have options that are desired, then the one that has the desires you wish to fulfill sooner is the one to lean towards.
