@Sherlock9 Some languages can only deal with rectangular multidimensional arrays. In J/APL, your array gets zero-padded automatically when it's not rectangular.

@Sherlock9 APL and Jelly (and J too, possibly) have built-ins to group the indices of an array by their values, which saves quite a few bytes. You had already said no for Jelly (which would skip empty arrays entirely, leaving no indication whatsoever which arrays are empty), but I had hope APL's built-in (which shows the "names" of the players before their numbers, indicating which arrays are empty and which are not) would be good enough.

It's OK if I can't use the built-ins, but I just had to ask. It would save 11 bytes in the APL solution.

@quartata Very low quality flags aren't terribly effective. They cast an automatic downvote if dismissed as helpful and are automatically dismissed as helpful if the post is edited. That means a moderator may never see your flag and the post might be downvoted if it is improved.

@LeakyNun Bounties can be awarded for any reason; it's your rep after all. With a 500 rep bounty, it would be nice to have some idea beforehand what you're shooting for though. ;)
