Mini-chat-challenge-poll: Write a program to parse the string A -> B into the list/tuple [A, B]. A and B may be any lowercase words, e.g. cat -> dog. Do the same for the format | A | B |, where there may be an arbitrary and different positive number of spaces after the A and B.
Based on the code required to parse each format, which do you prefer? (context)
Yeah, it's not obvious for a lot of languages. Come to think of it, I don't even have Pyth installed locally on my computer; I just use the online environment whenever I want to write something.
@JAtkin I actually think there's lots of potential in fastest-code, your challenge and many others could suit it well. The problem is that no one wants to run all the code :/
Hmm. What if only there a was a rasberry-pi specific fastest-code? Only languages that come with a standard out-of-the-box pi are allowed (python, wolfram, go I think, I forget what else).
Testing could even be automated, and long-running or malicious code would not be such a big deal. And anyone with the same pi could test it (though the OP as main scorekeeper is still probably best).
I've researched this stuff a lot in the recent months but i can't grasp any solid basis on how they achieve runing unsafe scripts in so many languages without a problem!

How about a hack-my-pi challenge? A script on my pi reads the challenge answers every 8 hours and runs them with a time limit and no privileges. The submission to consistently mess up/shut down the pi wins.
