Not to sound overeager, but what's the status on our HNQ reinstatement? Or the decisions around it? What needs to happen to consider we have "community consensus?" And would this be better as a meta post?

Look. There's a problem. We haven't fixed all the problems. But we're working on fixing them. Perhaps not as quickly as you'd like or in exactly the same way as you'd prefer. But please respect the fact that there are people trying, all in their own way, to fix it. But being unconstructive is not going to help your case.

And many others have been very tactfully telling you that they are disappointed in how you are handling the situation.

There are 100 comments on that question you're talking about. Please, tell me how many is "the odd"?

It would also be nice if people would just not make so many irrelevant comments in the first place. . .

It's really, really difficult to justify close reasons if y'all don't use custom close reasons. Using the "generic "This question does not appear to be about interpersonal skills, within the scope defined in the help center." close reason is not really helping us figure out why questions are closed. The "other" option is there because it tells the user more directly why their question is a bad fit.

@Tinkeringbell Then don't? If you don't/can't deal with it, step back and find something else to do. Answer questions... ask one. That's what Diamond Mods do... we step back, take a breath, and decide whether we can deal with it or not. Nothing on SE is so urgent that it requires immediate, constant action.

Hello folks! I've been running a little bot at @Mithrandir's request that tracks comments on IPS. @D.Hutchinson I think you're a little too snowblind trying to take his question in context of SE - and IPS specifically - and it hurts your answer. If you think the question is too broad, don't answer it. Ask for clarification. Starting an answer with "Your question is too broad so I'm going to interpret it the way I want to interpret it ... it's not helpful".

I don't understand why a woman being tired of being told to smile affects any of the other issues that are going on in the world... We all have shit we have to deal with... Let's work together to fight all of the problems rather than devaluing one person's problem because they're not also yours.

Ehh. It's more like a busy construction site. Some users here like to keep an eye on tags, others are great at editing, others make sure everyone wears a safety hat, and then there's the people that make sure your safety harness is on correctly.. and there's a few mods that help out wherever needed, sending people without hard hats or safety harnesses home.
