but the ruling was, in essence, removing a portion of your child's body for non-medically-necessary reasons is abuse, until they are old enough to consent to it.
@KitFox No, so that we can locate the phones, because we all work remotely, and if someone needs to know where the Galaxy S is, they can go to that site and check the gps
You don't need to install it before your phone is lost. Just trigger the install through the web market after your phone is lost and then send yourself an SMS to trigger it.
@KitFox Well, these phones are not meant for you to be using as a personal phone. They are test phones. They don't have SIMs. And everyone knows that AndroidLost is installed.
@Cerberus yeah, that's the thing. if I stole an Android phone, I'd probably poke around to see what info is in the phone, and if there isn't anything useful in there I'd probably remove the SIM and reset the phone.
in fact, I had to reset one of the test phones, because it was locked at the store. Someone had put a pin into the phone and nobody knew the pin. This was the last phone they had so I used my own phone to look on the internet for the directions on how to wipe the Atrix so I could buy it.
@KitFox haha. The woman at the store tired to get her "techs" to unlock it but they didn't know how. I googled "factory reset Atrix" and followed the directions, and she was like "wow! you REALLY wanted that phone!"
@Cerberus I've also heard of cases where the victim brings GPS coords and photos of the perp and the police refuse to get involved. in the US, no less.
@J.R.: I'd still like to sick John Lawler on this one - I find he's excellent at explaining the underlying metaphoric associations that lead us to choose one "preposition" over another with these compound/phrasal verb combinations. — FumbleFingers3 hours ago
@KitFox Perhaps not; that's why I was wondering about how thieves must know this. On the other hand, there are many casual thieves, people who just walk by and can't resist the phone lying on the café table...perhaps you would have a chance with those guys?
