2:20 AM
Two hours later.

3:16 AM
If I am chatting by myself, is it really a "chat", or a monologue (or possibly a mental disorder)?

I think it's chatting in this case because there's a transcript.
For instance, if you'd only sat there and said that inside your head or your house, I would have been none the wiser.

But there are monologues in plays, and the audience can hear them; the audience merely doesn't interact with the speaker.

True, but they aren't expected to.
I'm down with calling it a monologue.

@cornbreadninja麵包忍者 It's not my intent to pry too much, but how does a ninja relate to cornbread?

@TheodoreBroda The story is recorded here.

3:28 AM
@cornbreadninja麵包忍者 That's pretty funny! Thanks for that convenient link to your persona's backstory. Incidentally, do you get asked that a lot?

@TheodoreBroda Ha! You're welcome. And no, not really.
But like, it's in the transcript. I very recently linked to something above it and remembered it was there.
Thanks to @WendiKidd, I finally made an avatar.

Your avatar is pretty cool.

Thank you!
I made it in PowerPoint.

The ninja mask works, too. For some reason, I didn't recognize it as a cornbread piece; I assumed your avatar was just a yellow cartoon guy, akin to a Simpsons character.
Wait a second... Power Point? Not my first choice of photo editor (although I occasionally used Microsoft Word for photo editing before I found out about GIMP).

@TheodoreBroda I made it out of boxes and lines and such.

3:38 AM
Nice photo of Comic Book Guy (unless that's just a photo of someone afflicted with severe jaundice).

I wish that guy wasn't sideways.

@cornbreadninja麵包忍者 As they say in real estate photography... rotation, rotation, rotation!

I like his attention to detail... that Radioactive Man comic, in a protective plastic bag, is a great finishing touch.

I must poof.
poof

3:45 AM
I expect that kind of dramatic exit from Rumpelstiltskin, not a sneaky cornbread ninja.
Whenever I bake a batch of cornbread for my family, it tends to disappear quickly too ;-)

4:38 AM
I don't see any cornbread ninja.

5:17 AM
Hello!

5:39 AM
Look how beautiful women in hijabs can be.
As long as they're not too tight and not forced upon them...

6:33 AM
@Cerberus They will be more beautiful without them

@JasperLoy I don't know, I think this one is quite beautiful as she is.

@Cerberus Hmm, maybe that is a picture of Gigili, lol.

6:49 AM
Haha.
XCOM: Complete (includes Enemy Within) for € 15 on Steam!
Basic XCOM is € 10 now.
Until the 30th of May.

2 hours later…
9:16 AM
@Cerberus you misspelled "look how much makeup women can wear".
That lady wears a metric hijab of makeup.

I once saw a very old cat It was smelly but not at all fat It looked worse for wear But still licked its hair And slept on the bathroom mat

@Cerberus Well, it only works for Vista or above.

I don't even know who XCOM is, so for all I care it can run on OS/2.

I haven't played any of its games either.
But it's a strategy game. So it must be good.
I used to play Zoo Tycoon a lot. Requires some serious planning skills.
Well, it doesn't look like it's a strategy game.
But it feels like one.
Making a pretty zoo can be really stressful.

9:53 AM
Or really relaxing.

2 hours later…
11:25 AM
@Cerberus "We will be watching, Commander."

11:49 AM
@RegDwigнt I applaud your lego skills.

Stop hustling the starboard, Jasper.

@Robusto I did not star the lego post.

@Robusto but he is a hustler, not a damn ball player.

What kind of ball?

I am trying to guess who starred the lego post, it must be skull.

11:55 AM
:-O

My new question: 'Is there a single word that means "I understand by the transcendental idealism of all appearances the doctrine that they are all together to be regarded as mere representations and not things in themselves, and accordingly that time and space are only sensible forms of our intuition, but not determinations given for themselves or conditions of objects as things in themselves.'?

@skullpatrol google for 50 cent pitch.

!!google 50 cent pitch

@skullpatrol The Wikipedia contains no knowledge of such a thing

@Robusto yes.
@skullpatrol which part of "google" did you not understand? Was it the g or the oogle?

@RegDwigнt It is actually the "plex" that blows my mind :-)

Too much information who's blowing whom.

@JasperLoy what's wrong with starring that post?

!!wiki googleplex

should I remove that?

11:58 AM
The Googleplex is the corporate headquarters complex of Google, Inc., located at 1600 Amphitheatre Parkway in Mountain View, Santa Clara County, California, United States, near San Jose. The original complex with 2 million square feet of office space is the company's second largest square footage assemblage of Google buildings (The largest Google building is the 2.9 million square foot 111 Eighth Avenue building in New York City which Google bought in 2010). Once the 1.1 million square foot Bay View addition comes on line in 2015 the Googleplex will be the biggest collection of Google b...

I think my default avatar is very pretty.
@SmritiYadav Nothing wrong.

@SmritiYadav it's a free chat.

The place I live in is a very unfree place.

came here to improve my english

11:59 AM
or if I can add new words in my vocabulary
like valedictorian

Jasper is free to falsely accuse me :(

@SmritiYadav Why would you add that word, of all things.

oh cool
so skull was name

There are literally a hundred thousand words that are more useful.

I didn't realize that

12:00 PM
Valedictorian is a stupid word.

no. it's not
:P

@JasperLoy lol is a stupid word. Yet you use it in every other sentence.

Oh, someone insulted the prime minister here and he got fired the next day I heard.

haha

Pro Tip: If you are a senior and you have to look up the word valedictorian, you are not likely to become one.

12:01 PM
@RegDwigнt That is very offensive, I shall flag it

@Robusto one what now? One senior or one valedictorian?

@RegDwigнt Use your imagination.

@Robusto You are a senior too, lol

@JasperLoy Then I shal delete your entire account. Again.
@Robusto One crodocile it is, then.
And no, not crocodile.

!!wiki Valedictorian

12:02 PM
@JasperLoy Technically speaking, no I am not.

Valedictorian is an academic title conferred upon the student who delivers the closing or farewell statement at a graduation ceremony (called a valedictory). The chosen valedictorian is usually the student with the highest ranking among his or her graduating class. The term is an Anglicized derivation of the Latin vale dicere ("to say farewell"), historically rooted in the valedictorian's traditional role as the final speaker at the graduation ceremony. The valedictory address generally is considered a final farewell to classmates, before they disperse to pursue their individual paths af...

well... learning does not depends on age,

It actually does.

I am still trying to guess Robusto's age. It is difficult to fathom.

dead people can not learn

12:03 PM
Umm... no

Learning is a time-based endeavor, so of course it depends on age.

He is over 9000 age.

@RegDwigнt

Umm... yes.

haha
good point @skullpatrol

12:03 PM
:D

You cannot acquire nativity in Russian if you're older than 25. And 25 is an age. So QED.

But you can acquire a creche. That's almost as good.

Only until you had Russian nativity.

what does language have to do with learning

The creche was stolen anyway. It's Russia, after all.

12:05 PM
@skullpatrol For starters, learning is a word in a language.

@RegDwigнt so?

I wonder what the North Koreans think about their country

And there is a difference between learning and leaning.

@skullpatrol ah sorry, I forgot: So QED.
@Robusto not if you're PISA, no.

@RegDwigнt thanks I feel much better now NOT!!!

12:06 PM
The Programme for International Student Assessment (PISA) is a worldwide study by the Organisation for Economic Co-operation and Development (OECD) in member and non-member nations of 15-year-old school pupils' scholastic performance on mathematics, science, and reading. It was first performed in 2000 and then repeated every three years. It is done with a view to improving education policies and outcomes. 470,000 15-year-old students representing 65 nations and territories participated in PISA 2009. An additional 50,000 students representing nine nations were tested in 2010. The Trend...
@skullpatrol go see a doctor. I am not a doctor. I can only kick you with my two horns.

Technically, you don't need language to know that, say, fire will burn you. But you need it to read an Exit sign.

I am tired of reading Exit signs. They are everywhere.

Mathematics means learning and no one cares enough to reopen my question so QED

@RegDwigнt Try reading the Ausgang signs then.

Who has the time.

12:10 PM
to learn?

And then there's the ever-confusing Notausgang. Like, what now. Ausgang or not.

goodness me...

Or try 出口.

or may be just i know very few of them
u guys just know all the words from oxford dictionary i guess

No. We didn't know "u" was a word.

12:13 PM
haha
ok. will take care now onwards to use proper words only
Ausgang is a german word, not English?

That's the point of the joke.
@RegDwigнt When you really need an exit, a Notausgang is what you might choose.

Jaja, die Beiderhund.
I choo-choo-se you.

I wouldn't send a knight out on a dog like this.

Dog is my shepherd.

@SmritiYadav I like your sentence: MISTAKES are the proof that you are TRYING.

12:19 PM
... and FAILING.
Sorry, couldn't resist.

whatever^

haha
nice suffix

@skullpatrol seriously, it's in any dictionary. If you try and succeed, that's not a mistake.

@RegDwigнt I know, I just find it interesting...

12:21 PM
Every good thing that happens in your life is a gift.
I liked this one
Much need motivation I need at this point.

@SmritiYadav Someone's been reading my profile.

@SmritiYadav motivation is important

seriously loved the Description.
@Robusto
@skullpatrol Agreed.
Ok. All you 3 guys are from German?
wanted to ask this question

No. We're from PIE.

not sure if "All you 3 guys" is correct english or not

12:25 PM
@Robusto Pan Island Expressway?

so feel free to correct me if I just go wrong grammatically or spelling wise.

@SmritiYadav not if you pay for it, no.

The Proto-Indo-European language (PIE) is the linguistic reconstruction of a common ancestor of the Indo-European languages spoken by the Proto-Indo-Europeans. PIE was the first proposed proto-language to be widely accepted by linguists. Far more work has gone into reconstructing it than any other proto-language and it is by far the most well-understood of all proto-languages of its age. During the 19th century, the vast majority of linguistic work was devoted to reconstruction of Proto-Indo-European or its daughter proto-languages such as Proto-Germanic, and most of the current techn...

Yes laughing.

What about rotary emotions?

I must show this to my dad.

@Robusto Dial 555-EMO.

perhaps laughing

will tell him to search the meaning of word "English"

12:31 PM
@SmritiYadav no, you miss the point. The meaning of the word English is entirely different. That one is a language.

Yup, that's english.

and I asked what language has to do with learning

@skullpatrol and I answered you.

you tried and failed pal

12:32 PM
English is not english.

@skullpatrol better than tried and succeeded ntsc.

You can put English on a ball, you can French kiss and have a Dutch treat or a Swedish meatball, drink some Scotch or get your Irish up, but English idioms are curiously silent about German.

@Robusto what, no love for the Jacksons? One of them is a German.

That is not germane to this conversation.

How about love for the Simpsons?

12:34 PM
That show is older than most of the people who watch it.

And it shows.

The Simpsons movie is one of the worst movies.

Last season. Finally.

Wha really
OMG OMG OMG

haha
was that panic or excitement?

12:35 PM
Then again, who knows if they pull a Futurama on it and come back even worse.
@SmritiYadav I hate the Simpsons exactly as much now as I used to love them.

heard about it. never got the honour to watch that.

If you ever saw a shark, any shark, it would be entirely rhetorical to ask it if it has been jumped by the Simpsons.

@RegDwigнt so in the future you should feel nothing

I managed to find The Three Tenors 1994,1998 on youtube and 1990 on youku, but I can't find the whole video in one piece for 2002, anyone knows please tell me

That is the future for you.

12:38 PM
@RegDwigнt That looks like @JohanLarsson, lol.

Can I star this? I forgot my headphone today.

@SmritiYadav you can go on YouTube and add it to your Watch Later list.
Different tools for different purposes.

Do I really have to take permission to star something here?

@JasperLoy :)

@SmritiYadav No

12:38 PM
You do not.
You do have but 30 stars, though.

But that only applies if you star my messages.

I can post more videos than that within the minute.

per day?
or overall?

You will find out soon enough.
And it's per day.
See how soon you found out?

ok @jasper.

12:39 PM
30 per day is a lot

@JasperLoy not if it's 30 lols, coming from you.

lol

haha

@RegDwigнt I never saw them selling lego of that building in that building, where to find it?

@JasperLoy It should be in some souvenir shop in the lobby. But you might need to ask, because they could be pretending they sold out.

Lego is a popular line of construction toys manufactured by The Lego Group, a privately held company based in Billund, Denmark. The company's flagship product, Lego, consists of colourful interlocking plastic bricks and an accompanying array of gears, minifigures and various other parts. Lego bricks can be assembled and connected in many ways, to construct such objects as vehicles, buildings, and even working robots. Anything constructed can then be taken apart again, and the pieces used to make other objects. Lego began manufacturing interlocking toy bricks in 1949. Since then a g...

I used to think of it mostly as "plastic bricks". Seems like there is a whole range like gears, minifigures and various other parts.

See how much you can learn by asking :-)

yeah... it's really fun !!

There are 6500+ different parts out at any given moment.
"Various" does not begin to describe it.

I would say that "various" does begin to describe it :-)

1:11 PM
It depends on what your definition of "would" would.

That depends on what your definition of "depends" is.

haha
too much of definition in this conversation.

@SmritiYadav depends on what your definition of "too much" is

was seriously expecting this one ;)

lol

1:41 PM
moin

Halloah.

@RegDwigнt A hog is a Harley. That's not a Harley.

@Robusto You knew I knew you would say that.

Don't tease me.

1:44 PM
@RegDwigнt I hope I didn't piss you off pal?

How about tazing?

Nor that.

Someone's particularly wishy today.
I will answer that question for three thousand dollars.

@skullpatrol I don't think you know how this game is played.

nvm

Lord of the Game: The Two Thrones.
I swear to dog someone just gave me 3k sponduli, then removed them.

Lord of the Bathroom: The Two Thrones.

Two Bath Shakur.
In the bathroom of romance there's a rock band playing, people swaying to the beat, swaying in the heat. In the corner over there by the door is a local casanova, yelling for another double scotch.
If you can't stand the heat, stay the hell out of the bathroom.

Hello ELL!
A quick question: do migrated questions push notifications to the asker if they don't have an account on the target site?

I actually don't know.

I would think so.

@Mr.ShinyandNew安宇 Ah, so they won't get notifications even when they've created an account...

@jimsug well, for comment-related things.
@RegDwigнt What do you mean?

@Mr.ShinyandNew安宇 try logging out of one site.
Or just ask @Robusto.
The super cookie is what drove him the kind of mad he is now.

2:29 PM
@RegDwigнt oh, right. Because SE tries to paper-over the fact that you have 100 accounts, by cross-linking everything.
If it was just one site, one account, lots of subdomains, but wait! it is!

@Mr.ShinyandNew安宇 Ah, I think it is dumb too, lol.
Also, they should make deleting accounts easier, lol.
@Zoe What subject do you teach at the tuition centre?

Zoe
@JasperLoy How is it I just came in and..... NVM. I teach Math, English, Science, EBS and the occasional... Life. From age 9 to age 16/17.

@Zoe Oh, I read the transcript that day, lol

@JasperLoy Gonna have to disagree with you on that one. Deleting accounts messes up the history.

@JasperLoy EBS = Elementary Business Studies.
@JasperLoy Ah.
For science, I am alleergic to physics and therefore only teach Biology and Chemistry.

@JasperLoy It's 12am.

@Zoe So you are non-Christian but trying to become one? That sounds complicated

I think it's still possible to pick apples at midnight.
Why on earth would someone want to become a Christian? Especially a woman.

Zoe
@JasperLoy It is. I've got dreams that my mentor says are invitations from God but now... right now I feel like it is too hard! I am the type who is either in 101% or out, I can't deal with the cultural 50% thingy.

3:57 PM
@KitFox There are no apples trees here, lol

@KitFox To save the world, of course.
