Bottom to top makes more sense if you think of the stack as holding elements of an array. If you print bottom to top then you start at the beginning of the array and print to the end.

"Built-in functions which trivialize this task are not allowed" I guess would work but might be a little too general.

I'm just not sure how well that will be received.

But on the other hand I think too many languages have built ins for one or the other.

I've seen that specific phrasing used before but I can't remember how angry that made the community. :P
