5:00 AM
It is proven through 4 million trillion. I think you'll be fine with up to 2^32

@Dennis Hey Dennis, would it be bad idea to put V on tryitonline.net if there's still a lot of work I want to do on it?
I hate accidentally hitting the enter button.
Aligned variables? Check. Terrible braces standard? Check. Formatted comments? Check. Yes, it's ugly.
Bad variables names...

I honestly have not seen anyone actually use that style for braces yet

@QPaysTaxes It looks like they wanted to be writing Python but they had to write Java instead
I don't want to write either if I can help it...

Reminds me of this:
156
Q: Write program in your favorite language in another language

el.pescado The determined Real Programmer can write Fortran programs in any language. from Real Programmers Don't Use Pascal Your task is to write program in your programming language of choice, but you are allowed to use only another language. That is, throw away all coding conventions from one langu...

Though I guess Python 3 is not so bad

5:13 AM
Hm. Thanks :/

?

/me loves Python 3

It's a pretty decent language. They certainly fixed most of the reasons why Python 2 is garbage.

system_dot_out_dot_println = print
scanner_dot_nextint = lambda:int(input())

def public_static_void_main(args:str)->None: #{
  int_n = scanner_dot_nextint();
  system_dot_out_dot_println(int_n * 2);
#}

public_static_void_main('')
@AlexA. I tried

What do you think of this answer that just showed up in the low-quality review queue?

5:15 AM
@AlexA. What do you recommend?

Pen and paper
@Sp3000 This is beautiful. Truly a work of art.

@AlexA. For programming?

Yep
It comes with a nicer IDE than carving stone slabs

@Dennis I give up...

In all seriousness the only things I don't like about Python 3 are the confusing package ecosystem and the mandatory whitespace. But even the latter was improved over Python 2 since you can no longer mix indentation types.

5:19 AM
what the fuck France finished 6 at Eurovision

@AlexA. Eh, that's fair

we let down the UK and Germany

@Fatalize What's Eurovision? Is it a competition in which people have to see better than others in Europe?

@AlexA. song contest between "european" countries
Ukraine won and Russia got third
huehue
I say "european" because it has Georgia, Israel and .... Australia

@QPaysTaxes ( ͡° ͜ʖ ͡°)
@Fatalize I always knew Sp3000 was secretly European. I guess I just didn't know the true definition of Europe.

What kind of songs do they play in this seeing contest?

terrible songs
pop music basically

@Fatalize I feel like this is geographically inaccurate

ah another bukkit question

5:23 AM
BUKKIT is the keyword for arrays in LOLCODE

turretCore.setType(Material.REDSTONE_LAMP_ON);
turretCore.getState().update(true);
not working ^ at all...
@AlexA. LOLCODE?

@AlexA. Yeah we're Asian too, we get everything

@Fatalize Oh my god. What the hell is this???
It's like some Christian Gwar Dio

@Fatalize WTF?

@Sp3000 And they say America is a melting pot

5:25 AM
I would like Norway submitting Gorgoroth to Eurovision ( ͡° ͜ʖ ͡°)

\m/
I tried to forget but yes
@AshwinGupta You aren't familiar with LOLCODE? o_O
LOLCODE is an esoteric programming language inspired by lolspeak, the language expressed in examples of the lolcat Internet meme. The language was created in 2007 by Adam Lindsay, researcher at the Computing Department of Lancaster University. The language is not clearly defined in terms of operator priorities and correct syntax, but several functioning interpreters and compilers exist. One interpretation of the language has been proven Turing-complete. == Language structure and examples == LOLCODE's keywords are drawn from the heavily compressed (shortened) patois of the lolcat Internet meme....
@Fatalize When I showed you Dream House by Deafheaven that was the first time you had heard them, right?
Have you checked out the rest of that album by any chance? It's amaaaazzzziiiiinnnng

@AlexA. I haven't, I'll take a listen

The album is called Sunbather
And it's Worth Your Time™

hmm
on Encyclopedia Metallum it has a much worse rating than the new one

The new one being New Bermuda?

5:29 AM
yes

Don't listen to them. Sunbather is awesome.

I'll listen to both I guess ಠ_ಠ

New Bermuda is good too (tbh I haven't listened to it as much because I don't have it)
Oh damn, I guess you'll have to listen to more good music. :P

you only listen to cds you own? not me ...

It's not that, it's that I listen to the things I have in my personal library more often than other things. If I like something enough I'll buy it.
Also who uses CDs anymore?

5:32 AM
The cover of New Bermuda is better, therefore it's probably a better album

ಠ_ಠ

QED

Almost literally judging a book by its cover
It just isn't a book
Tell you what: listen to both then tell me which you like better ;P

Martin's challenge on empty space letters is a duplicate of this logo
vote to close

@AlexA. ;-;

5:36 AM
@Quill Do you not have a digital library like iTunes or something?

Yes, I have Apple Music and Spotify... I just like CDs

To each his own :)

I finally just changed my smartphone
my previous one had Android 2.2

I have a couple of cassette tapes around here somewhere... The Beatles' Abbey Road, Boston's first album, and an acoustic Eric Clapton album. They originally belonged to my parents but they gave them to me when I bought a car but the car only had a tape deck.

a car with tapes
damn Alex is even older than he says
(:p)

5:40 AM
( ͡ಠ_ʖ ͡ಠ)
Even my current car has a tape deck

plot twist: you didn't change car

Haha nah, my first one exploded.

exploded? ಠ_ಠ

Yes, quite literally.
I'm actually neither kidding nor exaggerating. The car really did explode. There were flames and fire trucks and all that.

well damn
must be scary

5:45 AM
Yes!
It's been close to 10 years since then though

wat
oh yeah it's 16 in the US
nvm

What's the minimum driving age over there?

18

Oh, okay

18 is the minimum everything

5:47 AM
18?

(almost)

Wow...Over here it's 15 and a half

but I guess you don't need a car as badly as in the US

Yeah, that's true.
Cars are really the main mode of transportation here.

I only use my car to go groceries shopping, and to go to work when it's raining
but I could do everything without it really

5:48 AM
How do you get to work when it isn't raining? Bicycle?

Any chat mini-challenge?

yes

@Fatalize In which country?

15 mins of cycling
@R.Kap France

Oh, ok. Then I can see why you don't necessarily need a car.

5:50 AM
@AlexA. listened to about 30 mins of New Bermuda, not clicking with me

America is such a big country with such an amazingly vast freeway system that a car is really a necessity if you want to get anywhere more than a few miles away.

When I lived in Seattle proper I drove a lot less but I live outside of the city now and now I drive all the time.

driving is annoying as hell
I'm glad I don't have to drive that much

Oh really? I enjoy it.

Speaking of which, I'm probably going to get my driver's permit in a few short months.

5:51 AM
@Fatalize Yeah, like I said, Sunbather's where it's at.
@R.Kap Congrats!

I just turned 15 last month.

Joyeux anniversaire (belated)

another sub-15 kid on this chat ಠ_ಠ
we're invaded

I don't think we're invaded; I think we're outnumbered

@AlexA. Thanks! I can't wait.
Yeah, not really sub-15. I am 15.
@Fatalize How many sub-15 kids have you seen in this chat though?

5:53 AM
Doorknob (though he turned 15 recently), Easterly Irk

If I would could youuuuuu

List of underage: Easterly irk, Doorknob, Conor O Brien, R. Kap, Quill, One guy that I forgot the name, zyabin (assumed)

@Fatalize hi
zyabin is 13 lol

Oh I wasn't thinking about you

5:55 AM
Yes zyabin. Quill is 17. I think Conor is 15.

but added

QPays is 17 as well

I'm thinking of the guy that was vehemently defending his political and religious ideas a few days ago

epicTCK?

yeah that one

5:55 AM
Also, in unrelated news, I have just finished one of the most challenging challenges I have ever done! I am so proud of the results, although it may be incredibly long:
0
A: Calculate the Fermat Point of a Triangle

R. KapPython 3.5, 1019 bytes: from math import* def H(z,a,b):c=complex;R=round;T=lambda A,B:abs(c(*A)-c(*B));d=T(z,a);e=T(z,b);f=T(a,b);g=[d,e,f];h=g.pop(g.index(max(g)));i=degrees(acos((sum([i*i for i in g])-(h*h))/(2*g[0]*g[-1])));_=[[z,a],[z,b],[a,b]];j,s,t=cos,sin,atan;N=[[b,a]for a,b in zip([b,a,...

@Fatalize I guess he changed his name to Bald Bantha though
> 1019 bytes
what

Yep...

my longest answer is about 400 bytes long I think

Very long, but I am nonetheless content.

Nice work though! It's always satisfying answering difficult challenges.

5:57 AM
@AlexA. Thanks! :)

And here I thought the 440 one was long :P

And yes, it is very satisfying answering difficult challenges.
Well, I am not a math guru or anything...

@R.Kap I got the same feeling on this answer, one of my first ones
felt gud

I am just in my first year of high school. I have a lot more to learn...

I could barely use a computer in my first year of high school

5:59 AM
When I was in high school I wasn't even interested in CS

I'm still not that interested in CS

I really want to golf it down more though, although I don't really know how.
