ooooh, so String: a := 4 is a runtime error?

@lembik: ntl 5, armadillo6, gsl2. But i think it's not (completely) the library versions. It's converting from and to ZZ in NTL

@Downgoat might I suggest that typing is purely commentary? To do your above MyInt, I'd actually prefer extension methods

@NathanMerrill yeah

@lembik: In my version that's documented to be done with conv<type>, but maybe not in your version. I believe there is another notation too

@NathanMerrill so the type on the left should be ignored?

5:04 PM
basically. Its for IDEs and people reading your code

Okay

@lembik: On line 96 try: for (int j=0; j<N;++j) conv(R[i][j], At(i,j)*factor); instead. Does the error on line 96 go away then ?
@lembik: Alternatively try: for (int j=0; j<N;++j) R[i][j] = NTL::conv<ZZ>(At(i,j)*factor);

A: Sandbox for Proposed Challenges

DenkerAffe@Sandbox: This is just a rough draft right now, gonna work out the details and formatting later. Anyway, you should get the idea, so suggestions are already welcome. I am wondering if it is possible to solve this by using pure regex, discussed it with some coworkers today and we weren't really su...

@TonHospel thanks.. I can't do it now but will try it tomorrow
how high can you get on your computer?

@lembik n=20 or 21
oops, forgot to reduce the precission, ignore that
@lembik n=19 or 20
Could be better by simply improving the error estimator. I still evaluate too many points
with the right estimator I can do m=10,n=20 in less than 1 second

@CoolestVeto I LOVE THAT SONG

5:37 PM
@CᴏɴᴏʀO'Bʀɪᴇɴ Which song?

@Dennis So. True.

@Sherlock9 The RDFTD

@TimmyD Is there any joke to this besides the obvious? Like "syntax error" == "clap your hands somehow"?

Google is coming up goose eggs for "RDFTD"

RDFTD ==> Ready D For The Dubstep?

Random Dubstep for the Day?

Or is RD an acronym of one word?
@Morgan'Venti'Thrappuccino Yup!

RDOTD FTFY

5:43 PM
updated my programming language github.com/epicTCK/Grond

@epicTCK Licence not Liscence. You made a typo in a file name.

@zyabin101 I can't spell... :D thanks

Also, in the docs: "languege" should be "language"

@Sherlock9 Nope, you've got it.

5:46 PM
@CᴏɴᴏʀO'Bʀɪᴇɴ thx for creating oration, is much fun. :P

Alright, thanks Timmy

@epicTCK Also, it's customary for developers to name main documentation files in ALL CAPS, so the licence file would be called LICENCE.txt. But whatever floats your goat.

thanks

Ah, sweet sweet +2 points of rep

@epicTCK Also "begining", "inported", "charector", "thow", and "Probobly" should be "beginning", "imported", "character", "throw", and "Probably"

5:48 PM
@TimmyD Ah, sweet sweet +15 points of rep

@Dennis :D

@epicTCK There's a reason for that. In the C locale, uppercase files sort before lowercase files, so those files would appear at the top of the listing, rather than be mixed in with everything else. /cc @zyabin101

@Sherlock9 imma just go use a spell checker

In some other locales, the collation is case-insensitive so that uppercase-files-at-top effect won't happen.

5:49 PM
I can't believe I still haven't finished Undertale ;_; and I have class in 7 hours so I can't continue now
This is just like when I was reading Homestuck and my current attempt to catch up on One Punch Man. I am abysmally behind on a lot of things

@ChrisJester-Young The files are ordered in ASCII order, by the way.

@zyabin101 In the C locale only.

@ChrisJester-Young IKR?

Other locales like en_US are different.

@Sp3000 @lynn I compiled Python 3.6 on Windows succesfully
do you guys want the installer?

5:52 PM
@Dennis, when can I expect your quipu answer? Unless you were joking earlier, which is alright

@orlp Sure!

Yeah!

@Sherlock9 I kinda expected you all to try out the languege instead of being grammar nazis.... but thanks anyway

Sorry about that

@Lynn what's the best way to host it?

5:53 PM
@orlp Sure.

@Sherlock9 I tried briefly, just to find out that I had completely misunderstood the spec. I'll try again later.

It was just the first few things I picked out

WHO'S READY FOR CODEJAM!!!@!@@@12

But I also want to be able to have both Python 2 and 3 on Windows.

@SethKitchen Me.

5:53 PM
@Dennis (^_^)b looking forward to it

@SethKitchen code what

@SethKitchen I'M NOT!!!!!@!@!!@1212!212!@1@

oh

@SethKitchen what is codejam

5:53 PM
LET'S GOOOO@!!@!@@@!@!@@@@@!@!@!

10 secs ago, by Chris Jester-Young
@Downgoat http://code.google.com/codejam/

only the number one programming competition in america

For people who IRC, check out channel "#gcj" + (1 + 1) in freenode. :-D

is that where people cheat?

@SethKitchen No cheating is allowed, but the channel is not silenced during the contest unlike #gcj.

5:55 PM
D: there is no JavaScript under "What language do you feel most comfortable coding in?"

you can literally code in spreadsheets
all you upload is the output

@Lynn @Sp3000 pls star so people can use Python3.6 to golf

well..
all they care about is output

@SethKitchen But you still must upload your solution, even if that is your spreadsheet or description of method, if you're doing it manually.

5:56 PM
when I win imma buy a pony

@SethKitchen If people cannot use your solution to replicate the correct answer, your entry is subject to disqualification.

If I enter my address in google code jam will it be public or private

@Downgoat Private, except country.
Your country will be publicly displayed.

oh shit, I can't have people knowing I live in the united states
@Google fix big privacy bug ^

5:58 PM
@orlp Uno thingo: how can I have Python 2 and 3 on Windows?

@zyabin101 Install the former in C:\python2 and the latter in C:\python3.

okai

I wouldn't put my Python3.6 build in the Path though
or use it as a serious python installation
