4:00 AM
@AlexA. only if you manage to kill all the webcam drones they send at you

That shouldn't be a problem
@Doorknob You don't have license-to-vim ;-;

@luserdroog for a second I thought you were Dennis with his old avatar

@AlexA. I do; I just haven't committed and pushed my .vimrc yet

o
okra

4:01 AM
I'm generally really lazy with pushing dotfile updates :P

Do you symlink init.vim to .vimrc?

yeah

I keep .vimrc separate and I forget why
@Dennis \o/

cool
Also, where did you get that example code? (Or did you write it?)

4:03 AM
2
A: Create output twice the length of the code

PhiNotPiElement, 16 bytes - 25 bonus = -9 _2:1<[2]16*'[X`] Explanation: _2:1<[2]16*'[X`] _ take input 2: duplicate it 1< test "if less than one" (like an empty input) [2] FOR/IF push 2 if true 16* multiply by 16 ...

Didn't we have an infinite cat program question?

Like you had to print the input forever?

@Doorknob \o@
@Doorknob tnoremap <Nul> <C-\><C-n> I know that <C-\><C-n> is for leaving insert mode in a terminal split, but what does tonoremap <Nul> do?

@AlexA. @?

4:07 AM
It's the Jelly emoticon
It's no longer valid Jelly

@AlexA. oh yeah that's one of the bizarre little corners of vim
Turns out Ctrl+Space sends a null byte to vim for some reason

Didn't we have an infinite cat program question?

I have no idea why, but that doesn't stop me from taking advantage of it

huh

(Ctrl+Space is just a random key shortcut I thought of that nothing uses)

4:07 AM

@Doorknob Sounds more convenient than Ctrl+\, Ctrl+N.

yeah

@phase ?

@AlexA. scam site I found

o.c

4:10 AM
is that replacing oic now?

yes?

@Doorknob imap <Nul> <Esc><Leader> You map it again? And set noesckeys?

@AlexA. okay, so that came before I used NeoVim
I use xcape, which binds capslock to ctrl when pressed with another key and esc when pressed by itself
Space is my leader key
So I kept accidentally pressing ctrl+space instead of <esc> <leader>

4:12 AM
What is a leader key? >_>

Then when I got NeoVim I realized I could use that since I would never run vim inside a terminal inside of vim
@AlexA. :h mapleader
I use leader for stuff like <Leader>w -> :w<cr>, <Leader>m -> :make<cr>, etc.

how do I move a line up in jim?

Did we have an infinite cat program question?

<Leader><Leader> -> :noh<cr>

@Downgoat s/j/v/

4:13 AM
@Downgoat hahahaha

@Downgoat $Brv

Advice incorporated, comment/message subject to deletion.

@Doorknob is that a command?

no I'm fixing your message

4:15 AM
Anyone have a link to the language used in codegolf.stackexchange.com/a/59500/41711 ?

nope

Q is a proprietary array processing language developed by Arthur Whitney and commercialized by Kx Systems. The language serves as the query language for kdb+, a disk based and in-memory, column-based database. kdb+ is based upon K, a terse variant of APL. Q is a thin wrapper around K, providing a more readable, English-like interface. == Overview == The fundamental building blocks of Q are atoms, lists and functions. Atoms are scalars and include numeric, character and temporal data types. Lists are ordered collections of atoms (or other lists) upon which the higher level data structures ...

@AlexA. o.c

Same family as K

how do I make vim stop resetting my theme's backgroin color?

4:16 AM
@phase Obx.java

@Downgoat ...

?

@Doorknob now I have to golf that interpreter

oh

background?

4:17 AM
yes, that's what I meant. I"m to lazy to fix

I'm too lazy to answer your question

Restting your backgroin sounds painful

@Doorknob D:

if vim is changing the colors of you body parts, you should probably talk to a doctor

@Downgoat Is it in your .vimrc?

4:18 AM
@MarsUltor Do you use Vim?

@MarsUltor yes

@AlexA. Not really

Oh

that is my vim

4:19 AM
Okay

Does anybody remember if we had a question to do the cat program forever?

@Downgoat Load solarized before airline

@EasterlyIrk not that I know of

I coulda sword we did.

@AlexA. as in the Plugin command?

4:20 AM
If you're using NeoVim you don't need the 256 color thing
Yes Plugin

still no change

@Downgoat 1. put your set backgound after the colorscheme. If that doesn't work, you also need to set related colors (look at the colarized file, see what it changes)

Did you close and reopen?

@AlexA. yeah

set background=dark
colorscheme solarized

4:21 AM
It's probably your terminal's fault, not vim's

@MarsUltor ^ this is in mine and it works

@Doorknob I'm using Mac terminal so it's either solarized, or vims fault

@Downgoat Um. Either 1. it may be a plugin or 2. vim's fault or 3. Your terminal settings may be overriding vim?

@MarsUltor vault?

Um. Fixed.

4:23 AM
@Downgoat I fail to follow your logic here

I'm using a vim terminlal theme

Try exiting vim and reopening.

that's the first thing I did

good
g'night now
bai

@EasterlyIrk night!
vim is the worst >:I

4:25 AM
@Downgoat I didn't know he changed it. Yes they were very similar, until you zoom-in.

2 hours ago, by Downgoat
huh, vim is cool

@Downgoat neovim > vim

@MarsUltor I am using neovim

wowneovim > neovim > vim >

4:28 AM
@MarsUltor what's neovim?
is it better than vim?

@Downgoat Wait, it uses .vimrc?

@Maltysen like vim but better

what does it do?

@MarsUltor I have my vimrc symlinked to neovim's config

Mine was generated by my mandala program here: meta.codegolf.stackexchange.com/a/577/2381

4:29 AM
@Maltysen In Ubuntu updater it's called Port of vim aiming to improve user experience instead of neovim

@Maltysen neovim.io
@Downgoat hah, you need to set some Mac terminal settings

@AlexA. like?

Your terminal has to support solarized

it does?

4:35 AM
already installed that

did that too

I forgot what the problem was

wow, mac is almost as annoying as windows

ಠ_ಠ

4:37 AM
ಠ_ಠ
ninja'ed

ಠ_ಠ

@EasterlyIrk Ninja education?

13 mins ago, by Easterly Irk
g'night now
That didn't last long

BUT THERE CAN NEVAR BE TO MUCH DISAPPROVAL FOR MAC HATERS
@AlexA. yep
@Dennis yep

@Dennis He has trained in the art of ninjitsu

@Maltysen ಠ_ಠ It's at least as annoying.

ಠ_ಠ
It is significantly less annoying.

@AlexA. something is resetting vim colors

@Maltysen Suffice to say, they're both annoying

All operating systems are annoying in some way
Or can be at times

4:39 AM
^

@AlexA. you should totally drop operating systems and use jquery
4

Each has its own set of quirks that appeal to some people and repel others

@Doorknob Is debian?

@EasterlyIrk no
@Downgoat we should make our own OS that's just a jquery shell

Asking him, the debian user.

@Maltysen It exists:

@EasterlyIrk i am too

ooh cool

@EasterlyIrk no

ಠ_ಠ

4:41 AM
@Downgoat Use NodeOS

@EasterlyIrk really?

gime a mo

ok

@Maltysen jQuery can't display things 0/10

@MarsUltor Oh lord, I hoped you were joking.

4:41 AM
@MarsUltor .html()
@MarsUltor link pls

@MarsUltor jquery is wonderful and does all things

^

@EasterlyIrk link?

brb, installing new OS

4:42 AM
@Downgoat no wait

speaking of jquery:

@Downgoat Install Remix while you're at it, Android > Mac

4
A: Add two variables using jquery

VihanDefinitely use jQuery Because the power of jQuery is obviously unparalleled, here is how to do with with 100% jQuery: var a = 1; var b = 2; $("<script>c=+("+a+")+ +("+b+")</script>").appendTo($(document)); Now c will hold your result and you used nothing but jQuery! As you can see jQuery is r...

it says it has a linux kernel

@Maltysen hit cmd-option-i.

4:42 AM
@Maltysen Well, yeah
@Maltysen Everything is Linux

@MarsUltor except windows

@MarsUltor I want a pure jquery experience that doesn't even let me add numbers without it

@Maltysen Well, everything is Unix, and everything Unix and non-apple is Linux
@Maltysen Hmm
@Maltysen I'm sure nodeos can be modified to support that

@MarsUltor but I will know that I am using linux inside and that will pain me

4:44 AM
@Maltysen Um.

hence, we need to write our own OS

I do not know how to write an OS

@Maltysen Well, a JS OS sounds pretty nice (especially considering it means a HTML5 desktop)

@MarsUltor well that's chrome

@MarsUltor ChromeOS?

4:45 AM
@Downgoat Isn't that linux?

oh yeah D:

Yuck

@Downgoat :28362845 neither do I, but I'm sure you can use jquery for it :P

Well, it shouldn't be impossible
There are two projects writing an OS in C#

@MarsUltor we first have to get js in machine language

4:46 AM
@MarsUltor BSD isn't Linux

@Maltysen rhino is written in c++, prehaps that can be compiled to machine code

@AlexA. Neither is GNU
The acronym literally stands for "GNU's not Unix"

GNU is an operating system?

@Doorknob its *L*inux
well its not linux

4:47 AM
@AlexA. ... yes?

@Downgoat Write it in asm, write a compiler/somehow use LLVM to generate machine code if possible

@Doorknob TIL

O_o

@Maltysen JQueryOS

@AlexA. Well I suppose you would say "GNU/Linux" if you were feeling pedantic

4:48 AM
someone should make a github repo so we can start on jQueryOS

@EasterlyIrk -1/10 no an os
@Downgoat who knows how to make OS's?

11/10 yes os

@Doorknob GNU Hurd != Linux

@Doorknob I usually feel pedantic except when I don't and then pedantry makes me furious. :P

@Maltysen I do

@Downgoat we can basically replicate chomre dev console except with an OS

@Maltysen We don't need to know, just write a asm.js to asm compiler

@Maltysen yes

@Dennis oic

s/i/./

4:50 AM
I knew someone would say that

who wants to join my jqueryos github?

@Downgoat meeee
but we might want a different name because jqueryos is used by some unrelated project

^
and ^^^

what's your github username?

Maltysen

invited yall

we need an organization

RikerW

^^

4:53 AM
^

@MarsUltor I did make one

because we also need to make Genisys usign node/WebTorrent while we're at it :P
@Downgoat somebody1234

@MarsUltor invited

@AlexA. nah:

4:58 AM
@AlexA. Use IBus + a custom keyboard, it's a lot simpler and more universal

@Doorknob -1 because his font makes it look like it's from the 1970s
@MarsUltor ?

@AlexA. hahaha

@AlexA. I can show you what happens when I use the Jelly keyboard if you want
