@Anwar do you have an example? I can imagine generalizing a(n older) question would also answer a new question adequately. I am pretty sure I did it in the past to prevent repeating the answer practically.
This is a little odd, but the Android application's feed shows really narrow for items even on a wider screen.
Below is a picture of the layout on the screen of my Galaxy Tab E and how the narrowness is evil. Note this only seems to be on the feed, and not specific site pages or questions/answe...
"Ninja Moderator" means it was struck down by one of us before the community got a chance at it. That said, for 'spam' it's better to just purgify as spam :)
@Rinzwind we had an issue with horror clowns terrorizing people on campus here. One of them thought it'd be a decent idea to try and freak me during my evening walk home.
Off-topic: And I'm grabbing a glass of beer while my other hand digs deep into a large bag filled with potato chips... All these, because I kinda feel like celebrating. One year at my actual job! Cheers, guys! :-)
@Anwar If you take enough non-mod spam flags, Community will automatically delete, lock, and relay it to the spam system to try and train it to be caught in the future. Takes only one mod spam flag to execute the same exact fire-raid on the post.
@Anwar it helps that certain music on my playlist kicks me into a "Burn the Flags Queue" mood, and into a higher level of antispam activity, which is one reason that one post Smokey reported was insta-nuked
I am running T.T. 16.04. As I was opening Pokerth to play I inadvertently clicked on the maximize button when the screen was already maximized, expanding it to the point where I cannot see the radio buttons or the edge of the desktop(clock, off button, etc). I cannot grab the screen with my mouse...
@ThomasWard I caught the conversation in the middle, but apparently there are some clowns dressing as clowns around here too, but I'm worried things will end up badly, if they decide to scary people in the wrong place in the wrong time
@IanC well the person who scared me got a heavy flashlight in their face. I tend to carry a heavy MagLite flashlight with me at night, and a tactical flashlight
tac flashlight for brigher light, MagLite for defense and light.
helps as a core inside my fist too - means heavier damage to them when I defend myself.
never wait for the police and never admit to anything >:-D I was told that by the police when I thrashed a chair onto someone when he punched someone in the face breaking that mans glasses (he got 100s of pieces into one eye)
I think they put one of those clowns to run in a city up to the north coast, at least so I heard, haven't spotted any yet, but I've heard a friend from work and his sister spotted one in my city
@Anwar - That OP could make a typo or a pure mistake. Some people don't momorize well the name and the number of a specific distro, so, if asked, they can mess them up.
Guys, I must say that what you're discussing here about clowns sounds pretty weird to me. I have never imagined that clowns could be scary and/or aggressive. Besides of that, usually, clowns are liked by people.
In my town, if someone would dress up like that (scary clown), they would most probably end up at the Police, maybe even with a recommendation for a psychiatric check up.
I don't think so, I already resolved the pages I'm using, think someone in the house is either downloading something or playing some heavy game @TheXed
For real though, I need to know if I where to buy a wireless IP camera, where does it record? At work we have fancy DVR's, but I think that would be overkill for one camera in a residential environment...
I could imagine there are models with more and less internal cache they can fill up until they have to transfer it anywhere or overwite the old material.
I have absolutely no experience with such things though.
@Fabby Did that (as also suggested in an answer I already got), but did not work yet. Please see my comment below that answer at askubuntu.com/questions/840479
Why does AppArmor have to be so horribly complicated? :-/
The Unicode look of disapproval no longer displays correctly within Chrome and Firefox in Ubuntu 16.04:
As you can see, the Unicode replacement character is shown instead of the correct symbol.
This was working fine in 15.04 - what do I need to do to get this fixed?
yeah, I thought so, but since sometimes movies are translated differently here.. sometimes it's hilarious the name they come up with compared to the originals
I don't think they could get really creative with a movie named "Inferno" though :p
Btw @Fabby The guest-session apparmor thing got more complicated. I need to be able to access an encfs mount point inside the directory I want to unlock.
Old joke: Back in the beginning, @ParanoidPanda was not allowed to stay up late by his parents (even on the weekend) and as he had to go to bed by 23:00 BST (our midnight) I told him stuff like:
Oh, your glass shoes are going to turn back to dirty old ones
@ThomasWard Thanks for news about my post being on the mailing list. Your ping showed up as a message on my smartphone. I had no idea this Stack Exchange could do that.
I'm looking for answers regarding the POWER8 server architecture. Which tag(s) should I use? I see that there's a tag for 'ppc64le', and also a tag for 'powerpc'. Which one is best?
@IanC Thank you for your kind words! Well, I have to admit that this job can be quite scary at times. I remember that exactly one year ago, this old lady was hard to deal with because of her aggressive and unpredictable manifestations. But now, one year after, she is a lot calmer. And me too!
@KazWolfe are there sample UPS scripts around? Also SE used a text message for Thomas's ping which is more meaningful than e-mail, which I tend to ignore when they come first in.
