Do y'all have any thoughts on doing an RO election? I haven't been able to be in the room consistently because of college and stuff, and most of the other ROs aren't around too often either, so it might be good to get some more active users in the RO list

Microsoft also recently declined PRs improving documentation formatting because "it would make the documentation harder to read by AI"

so when Dennis makes non-optimal built-in set choices because of no prior experience it's "innovative" and "the best you can expect from that time" but when I do it it's a travesty :p

like, they always try to play it up for marketing, but it's just always true that students are where they are for a degree before anything else and the big iconic stuff is sustained by a disproportionately visible minority of enthusiasts

Hello, I've just gotten my new language, iogii, ready to share with the world (it is still in pre-alpha). The goal is to be simple yet powerful (like all my languages really). This one is lazy, vectorized, tacit, and only uses the 96 printable ascii characters. You can check it out at golfscript.com/iogii I'd be trilled to receive any feedback - feel free to ping me here!

@rydwolf To be blunt: that kind of reductionist, dismissive thinking about people you don't like is not going to serve you well in life. At the very least, it will lead to you constantly underestimating people.

SE chat would have been discontinued 5 years ago if a rogue time traveler hadn't determined that anonymous bribes to keep it online weren't the simplest and most effective way to erase the Tosh presidency from history

i think having a meta post (which basically means it's officially endorsed) will have the same problem as last time, which is why it got deleted, of keeping stale memes on life support. and if it doesn't, then things come and go and what's the point in record-keeping things we want to be trends that pass by and not artificially stay alive beyond their relevance

Roses are butter,
Violets are butter.
