@Liam working from home today, so as well as work, I have grouted a bath, hung out two loads of washing, mounted a multiple candle holder to the outside of the house, and planted a flower bed.

@Liam The kids liked the river snakes we saw in Spain, but we knew no venomous species there. I haven't yet taken them to Australia - I'll need to totally change their briefing. It will be something like: ALL animals here are poisonous :-)

@Aravona if you like achievements, you will definitely like Ingress. Various badges, with bronze, silver, gold, platinum and black levels for each, plus rankings for you as a player (L1 to L8 based on points, then L9 to L16 based on points plus badges)

What is likely to be a better activity for now - and we did this on a couple of other sites I frequent - was to actively trawl through questions and answers looking for good ones to upvote (as no-one ever upvotes enough)

this promotes activity, brings some questions back to the front page, and helps rapidly move people up into higher rep tiers

which also leads directly to our eligibility for graduation

Competitions - if we can get a lot of interest, and can pull together a good overview of what the competition should be and possible prizes, then SE may be able to do something. The focus is on raising activity/quality/membership etc - so working out how to do this and reward it can be appropriate.

@Liam For things like 1st anniversary of graduation it was an easy sell - I think they are almost official. Before that it is a bit trickier - although it appears to be standard practice to provide some swag for the top 1 or two pages of users on graduation.

@Liam in regards to the event idea ... the idea of possibly putting a rep bonus to the best question would be cool, but is it feasible within the scope of what SE can do?

Is it normal in cricket that the results are so high and differ that much?

Seriously, why does every question about climbing end up as a barrage of "climbing is dangerous and your should be careful" comments. Yes I know climbing is dangerous I do not need to be reminded of this in every question. Eveybody is so busy telling everybody else to be careful that no one is answering any of the actual questions (rant over)

where I was, elk hunting at 7 AM on top of a 10,000 foot mountain. Got up at 2 AM to climb it. No elk. Awesome photos though!

I also think a lot of the answers we have had have been very hugely thorough where they can be
