There are stories of DME indicators and ADFs becoming mysteriously INOP on checkride days so the students don't have to fly a DME arc or the NDB approach, but I'm sure all of those were genuine equipment failures and not just the random application of a placard to duck a test element!

I understand modern autogyros are much more stable, so I've probably angered the autogyro people by impugning their safety. Once they finish building the autogyros they've been working on in their garages for 10 years, they'll come after me.

@voretaq7 a level D sim can actually kill you, just remember to wear your seat belt if you are ever in one, especially if someone insists on demoing full stalls or inverted approaches :)

Select Stack Exchange employees have instituted an every other Monday "let's go out drinking" event... where apparently the goal is to learn all of the secrets your coworkers would not be willing to divulge sober. So far, this looks like a promising tradition.
