Hi everybody
I am new here. I have a question. "Why do fans are installed in some cockpits"? mostly in Russian planes.
I am not sure but the object looks like a fan on the right side in the image. Also i have noticed a small table fan mounted on cockpits if some Russian military planes on tv documentaries.
And I am not talking about this en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/….

@SwiftPushkar asking on the Q&A site has a much better chance of getting an answer than asking in chat.
I suspect the reason is simply that it gets hot, especially on the ground with the engines off, and being able to open a window and turn on a fan probably makes a big difference. There could be more to it, but that'd be my guess.
@BretCopeland - Yes , you are right , but actually i wasn't sure whether this Q. is valid or not. I tried to search images where we can see a fan mounted in cockpits but haven't found them , I am pretty sure that i have seen a cockpit of Antonov where there was a fan , but in a documentary on tv. I will do some more googling and will try to ask .Thanks.
@BretCopeland - Ok
@BretCopeland Yes , but with air conditioning i think they are of little use.

Air conditioning doesn't work unless the engines are running or you're connected to a ground air supply.
@BretCopeland Oh , ok , got it . I remember seeing them present in large cargo plane cockpits.
@BretCopeland - Thanks again for your reply. Will join the site , and will try to visit here as well.
