I'm a bit worried that my flying manual opens with the Bernoulli Principle explanation of fixed-wing flight
casey
@DanHulme as long as your wing understands lift, you'll be fine :)
voretaq7
@DanHulme Read a helicopter manual instead. "Flight is achieved when sufficient noise and flailing occurs to frighten enough air away from the vehicle..."
Dan Hulme
@voretaq7 uh... how do they account for the vortex ring?
falstro
@DanHulme What's really gonna shake your marble later on is that the explanation is probably incorrect ;)
Dan Hulme
no, that's what's shaking it now!
falstro

@DanHulme mine starts with verbatim regulations. :P
Dan Hulme
14:50
at least they're true
the problem I have with it is not the complexity of a two-paragraph simplification; it's the fact that it's wrong
falstro
:)
In my case, no, the book was so outdated it had quite a few regulations that have since been reworked.
voretaq7
@DanHulme That's part of the flailing :)
Or if you prefer:

@voretaq7 This one explains several other principles of life too.
falstro

@Farhan The prop revolves around its axis, everything behind that revolves around money.
Farhan

@falstro That's isn't just specific about an airplane. ;)
