Salamun Alaikum, anyone here?

@yasar11732 wa alaikum salam I am

In here "Qul ma kuntu midu'a minar Rusuli" I guess one of the words is supposed to be bid'at, but I can't see where
scrool a little bit down and you will see the part I am talking about.

ok
what am I looking at? the word Bid'a or Badi'i

I guess it is supposed to be Bid'at, what does Badi'i mean?

"Badi'us samawaati wal ard "?

1:11 AM
On that page it says that "In these Ayahs from the Holy Quran the word Bid'at has been used in it's literary meaning"
But, as far as I can see, none of them inclused Bid'at in them

There is a difference between the words بدعة and بديع
The first
means like, something that is made up
The second
the closest translation to my knowledge is Originator
and the second is a name of Allah " Al Badi "
do you understand?

Ok, I understand what you are saying. In this ayat, "Qul ma kuntu midu'a minar Rusuli " what does "midu'a" means?
Is it related to Bid'at ?

what is this (XLVI)

roman numerals. 46.

@yasar11732 here it means new thing,
Say: I am no new thing among the messengers (of Allah), nor know I what will be done with me or with you. I do but follow that which is inspired in me, and I am but a plain warner. (9)

1:24 AM
Hmm, ok thanks.

your welcome :)
Asalamu wa alaikum good bye guys got to go

Wa alaikum salam
I heard from somewhere that Qur'an's Arabic is very different than todays Arabic. Can anyone confirm that?

it's definitely different from spoken Arabic.

quran arabic is the classic arabic...

@goldPseudo In what ways?

1:28 AM
which we use in official use and books..

"Modern Standard Arabic" is fairly similar.

but still, quran arabic is unique and complicated.. it is beauty!

i think you'll hear MSA spoken on newscasts and the like.
but rarely if ever on the street

spoken arabic is another story.. with different accents some of them are only understood by specific area
nothing such MSA in real life.. it is what western world sayd about it

But I would expect an Arab would understand what is being spoken when s/he reads Qur'an, right?

1:29 AM
there is classic arabic, spoken arabic..
they make it, classic, msa, and spoken
even if you go to the arabic page in wikipedia about arabic language.. it has two types.. in the english page.. it has three
if you open MSA page in english, then switch it to arabic.. it will say "Classic arabic"
yup we do understand.. mostly.. some words are not commonly used and u need to know what it means..

How does the word wudu used in English, can I say "taking wudu" or "having wudu"?

"do wudu" for the act of ablution, and "have wudu" for being in the purified state.
at least, that's how we use it 'round these parts.
sometimes posessive. "do my wudu" and "have my wudu".

Q: How to know this dream is really Ro'ya?

MhdAljoboryHow do I know that I had a Roya? I know if I saw the Prohphet (PBUH), then I really saw him: Abu Huraira reported Allah's Messenger (may peace be upon him) as saying: He who saw me in a dream in fact saw me, for the satan does not appear in my form. حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو الرَّبِيعِ، سُلَ...

This question is interesting because Ro'ya = dream in Turkish.
I didn't know there was a difference :)
We use the exact word "Rüya" which is just Turkish transliteration for word Ro'ya

we have another new user who's treating this like yahoo answers :)

Which one?

mohamez

:) I just downvoted one of his answers.
He seem to be good intended though.

It would be nice to be able to set a chatroom as "new users welcome"
:/ He just gave another watch this answer to me.
I have warned him again, but I don't want to make him feel unwelcome either :/

it's ok - i just answered the same question
i have to leave now
but if you want to point him to my answer as an example of what we expect here, that's fine :)

A: Are Muslim men allowed to take "sex slaves?"

ErshadFirstly, slavery doesn't exist in modern world (including the Muslim world). However, in pre-Islamic era, there was too much injustice towards the slaves and people used to take slaves for every silly reason. Islam restricted it to war prisoners only. When Islam came it started treated them justl...

this part of his answer
We have made lawful to you your **wives**, to whom you have paid their Mahr (bridal‑money given by the husband to his wife at the time of marriage), and **those (slaves)** whom your right hand possesses.
means we can have sex with slaves if they agree but can it be done if we have a wife?

8:40 AM
@Ansari Are you here?

Assalamualikum

Wa Alaikum Salam

whats today in history?

Most of the peoples involve in doing ibadah today with full of enthusiasm.
absolutely
I knew its bidah, am I right?

8:46 AM
I am not an expert on the subject, but it might be.
On the other hand, there are different kinds of bidah, some are not acceptable, some are deemed good.

Specially in India there is too much craze/

:D
What do you mean too much craze?

peoples participating and celebrating like an festival
Really assigning a particular day for ibadah is against in isalam, correct me if I am wrong

I am really not much knowledgable about these subjects, but according to wiki article, very important Imams considered it acceptable to pray in the night of mid-shaban.
Why don't you ask on main site about this.

Framing a Question?

8:53 AM
Sorry for my English, but I don't know what that means.

@yasar11732 where to ask about this? this is not right place?
I am trying to understanding this topic, so I can explain to others too/ and you all are here expert than me :D

You won't be getting good answer on chat, because this place is generally for chatting about general topics. Go to front page islam.stakcexchange.com and "ask a question" from there.
Then you will likely to get good answers with references and stuff.

yeah, you are right, lemme ask,BTW! thanks

And also, none of our top users aren't around at this time, and I can't help you with your question.
@RobinHood You are welcome.

Its okay
you are from Syria, right?

8:59 AM
No, Turkey.

India
Its pleasure for me to meet peoples from around the world, AKAIK yesterday I talked with a Syrian and today with Turkish :)

You mean @HaLaBi ?

No, wait
yesterday, by Al Ummat
Well I am from Syria
:)

9:19 AM
Yes, he is very active around here too.
But this is very empty time of this room.

hummm.. no issue

@Ershad it means the person has to marry the slave first?

@Ashu I am confused about that QA too.
It says that you can't rape your slave, but she has to accept having sex if you ask her, so I don't see the point.

i think a few extra points should be added to make it clear
@yasar11732 yeah thats what im confused
thats i why i posted this
5 mins ago, by Ashu
@Ershad it means the person has to marry the slave first?

9:35 AM
He better come around and solve this mystery. It is not like I have slave girls, yet I am still curious :)
I will be leaving for a while, assalamu alaikum.

@yasar11732 he was here.... i missed the opportunity to continue the discussion
@yasar11732 salam

10:06 AM
@Ashu Are you here?

yeah

What do you think about the title of this question:
1
Q: What should a true muslim do if his daughter does not respect the faith

Muhammed JWhat are the appropriate punishment in the quran for a girl who dishonors her family by disobeying her parents and refuses to fulfill her duty to Allah(swt)?

The word "true" bugs me a little.

i dont like that question
well anyways
if you want a different title
put it as a "righteous"
or just remove the true

Do you have edit rights? Mine needs to be reviewed :P

@yasar11732 no, i need 20 more rep to do that :P

10:11 AM
Ok than, I am suggesting an edit.
Do you think I should make a meta question about that, like should we allow such pharases?

i dont think that matters much
that would make it more English than Islam

but tone of the site is important, and meta is the place to discuss such topics.

well if you think that way then go ahead

Q: Jewish belief in GOD and ProphetHood?

RobinHoodAs a Muslim I believe in GOD and the last messenger for humanity Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) and in the Christian Prophet Jesus (peace be upon him). Do Jews believe in a GOD or any Messenger?

@tachyons whats with that question?

@tachyons read my comment too.

I asked this question before reading FAQ. I apologize. — RobinHood Mar 2 at 5:30

@RobinHood wat was given in the faq?

It seem, you are scrutinizing about me. :D

No I just visting other sites

10:50 AM
@HaLaBi we should not say bad things about other religion

13
Q: Why is the Jewish Population so small?

TofeeqAhmadI have a basic question . Judaism is one of the oldest religions. But there aren't many Jews compared to Muslims and Christians. What are main reasons behind that?

I am not saying bad things?

@Ashu agree

@HaLaBi you were on the border

being scared is bad? they had bad history with these people and they can't forget easily..

10:50 AM

Q: Should we allow "true muslim"?

yasar11732The original heading to this question was "What should a true muslim do if his daughter does not respect the faith" (I suggested an edit about this, it may or may not be accepted while you read this). The word "true" in the heading sounded wrong to me, and since the tone of the site is important,...

@HaLaBi thats not my point

questin about jews are allowed in jewish stack exchange but question about muslims are offtopic in islam stackexchange :-)

well anyways let it be

10:52 AM
@tachyons thats funny..

@tachyons seriously?
Injustices

but I appreciate the decision of islam stackexchange
Because most of such questions are not constructive

But without dealing with such question you can't able to explain right way!

How will you remove their blind belief and how will you represent yourself as muslim?

10:55 AM
@tachyons that would be off-topic here
@RobinHood by clearing doubts about Islam and not muslims
bcoz islam is being misinterpreted not muslims

@Ashu Thats what I mean

What should a true muslim do if his daughter does not respect the faith http://islam.stackexchange.com/questions/1240/what-should-a-true-muslim-do-if-his-daughter-does-not-respect-the-faith?atw=1 #quran

Q: Can I read Qur'an from a monitor when I don't have wudu?

yasar11732We don't touch or read Qur'an when we don't have wudu. On the other hand, we can recite it. Which ruling apply to reading Qur'an from a different medium than a printed book? Can we read Qur'an from internet when we don't have wudu, or should we do wudu before we read it through our computers?

is it bad to notify them in comments? i hope there were a private messages service..

Q: Rejecting others' friend requests on Facebook

jakeInspired by this question: If one receives a friend request on Facebook, especially from another Jew, is it permissible to reject them? On the one hand, "חברים כל ישראל" - "All Jews are friends"; but on the other hand, it is non-beneficial to be socially connected to someone you don't know well...

just for curiosity , I wanna know whether this type of questions are allowed in islam stack exchange ?

obviously not :P
the answer is even better

@Ashu So I can reject fb request :D

Q: How should a muslim have fun?

yasar11732Muslims understanding of fun can't be same as of non-muslims because we can't do much things non-muslims can do for fun, for example, we can't consume alcohol, smoke, hang out with boyfriend/girlfriend and I guess there are different opinions about music etc. On the other hand, having fun is a hu...
