Is L-cysteine halal?
Yes, it is.
What is L-cystiene?
Cysteine (abbreviated as Cys or C)[3] is an α-amino acid with the chemical formula HO2CCH(NH2)CH2SH. It is a semi-essential amino acid, which means that it can be biosynthesized in humans.
P.S Biosynthesized meansthe following - Bios...
well the op is asking about man made sources of l-cystiene
if it is halal in its natural form (read my ans) then shouldn't be halal in man-made form too? please ping me if you have an answer to this.
I don't know -- can anyone make a case for these single use tags existing for more than a month?
edit: I am convinced this is a useful cleanup task, to remove these orphaned tags from the system automatically. I've implemented a routine that removes tags created more than 6 months ago which have...
so if we don't get another zuhd question in six months, we'll know it's not that useful of a tag. :)
yeah, might as well remove the definition; since the question is essentially asking what it means, you can assume the answerer already knows what it is :p
or rebuilding your second line question a bit more like "It is normally translated as asceticism, but does that mean living in poverty etc etc...."
I do have answers.. But, I am looking for better ones.. I have answers from Imams like Ahmad Ibn Hanbal.. etc. But, I don't really have narrations from Prophet regarding that.. So, I guess someone might have a better answer
Yes, Muawiyah ibn Abi Sufyan (RA) became the Caliph in a very legitimate way and as Mohammed (PBUH) predicted in his two authentic Hadiths:
حَدَّثَنَا صَدَقَةُ، حَدَّثَنَا ابْنُ عُيَيْنَةَ، حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو مُوسَى، عَنِ الْحَسَنِ، سَمِعَ أَبَا بَكْرَةَ، سَمِعْتُ النَّبِيَّ صلى الله عليه وسلم ...
@Dynamic one of the ways of promoting this site was retweeting those tweets... i would like to tweet the good ones from them.... directly getting them here rather than searching them on the twitter page would be helpful
According to Sunnis, it was allowed before but later the Prophet salallahu alayhi wassalam abolished it. It is based on the following hadeeths:
In the Two Sahihs, it is recorded that the Leader of the Faithful `Ali
bin Abi Talib said, "The Messenger of Allah prohibited Mut'ah marriage

Chakras are said to be whirling pools of energy in our body according to Hinduism/Buddhism. It is said that these chakras can be open, closed or overactive, and depending on their status, they could affect people in different ways. Is there anything in Islam that refuse or accept this? Can a Musl...

@Manishearth yes, really I would say we must believe in them because if there was no scientific study than we would not really know that they existed except by the practisis of the other religions, so that would make it a part of the Ghaib and we must believe in the Ghaib (the unseen)
@goldPseudo we do know the chakras exist, I have done some study on it my self. The efects are rather unseen, as I said there are seven major chakras that are connected to the seven major organs in the body
From my study, they are there to manage the chi through the body
I am not realy saying that chakras are of the unseen
but there are things like the earth
scientist know a lot about this earh, but there are things that are unseen
so sometimes those that seem to be seen have an unseen side
and that is kind of what I meant by unseen, hope you understand
AND I want to add on to what I said, that things that Allah has revealed to us, only Allah knows it totally, the Qur'an is a good example
we have so many tafseers and stuff to understand the Qur'an, but all this only Alllah and His Prophet know what the total meaning is, that is why when one reads the Qur'an you can read it a million times and get a million meanings and get more
did any of you understand what I just said? anyone?
Our user base is mostly new comers. I think people will get the SE way in time.
@AlUmmat I was interested in chakras and red about them a little, first chakra is root chakra and it is about animal instincts, just like Nafs-i-Ammara is governed by animal instincts.
This morning I spent a solid two hours clearing out a whole mess of flags, comments, and suspending users for inflammatory and unconstructive remarks.
Four days after ashes999 posted his plea for tolerance, this is just getting worse: we are seeing intolerant and outright rude and incendiary com...
... but what we need is more "getting it" / follow-through on the main site. All that "preaching to the choir" in meta isn't doing any good if the premise isn't being enforced/supported on the main site.
@RobertCartaino that kind of argument/debate was largely instigated by one or two users. the only reason we were seeing so much of it was because those users were prolific. i think it quieted down yesterday. i believe the majority of our users "get it."
@Ansari Yes, I've noticed that, too. I'm not a fan of the basic questions that appear to be ask by curiosity-seekers "just wondering..." about their Islam 101 questions. I don't think they add well to the overall "expert" tone of the site.
Can you answer this? What is the Islamic concept of Zuhd? http://islam.stackexchange.com/questions/1165/what-is-the-islamic-concept-of-zuhd?atw=1 #faith
I do not know is that tradition or it has roots in hadith but for me Jumu'ah (Friday's salah) should be centralized event.
When I said centralized I think that if in one region we have several mosques only one should be host of Jumu'ah salah.
Based on a few chat messages from earlier, I feel this needs to be reemphasized in this room:
This is a site for questions and answers about Islam, not partisan rhetoric on Middle Eastern politics. Messages discriminating against any specific ethnic group or nationality will be deleted on sight. Respect others, treat them as you would like to be treated, or go somewhere else.
well, i told you brother, maybe I am missing something.. if there is nothing in quran then i won't guess about it.. but I said maybe there is something I am missing..
I heard some people said that every thing made me scared is forbidden in islam, Is that right? And if it's right what the references for that from Quran and sunnah??.
@HaLaBi no but diving too deeply can open a dimension that all jinn can access you, if you wait and let Allah open it up slowly for you or Does what He thinks is best for you than you would be better off
I am not really into this possessing thing.. i believe they can do it.. but i do not think it is like whenever they want.. otherwise they would have been possessing me long time ago..
do u think I am already being possessed?
sometimes I think so...
whatever..
Thanks @AlUmmat for the warning.. may all save us from evil things
