Hmmm - oops rather late night for a school night. The upside - walking home through the woods the stars look amazing. Can't see if the aurora is out tonight though
There's oceans in between us, but that's not very far. Do you think I care, do you think I care, do you think I care or am aware? Do you think I care what you say, when I'm oblivious...
@Adi I think @kalina made a very valid point, it's also about freedom of movement. So now you can actually be denied AppSecEU attendance if you're from EU because you're not also "not from EU"... brain hurt
@AviD well let's consider @Adi for example, I'm not saying he's being denied anything, but I can imagine some problems with getting to Israel yet he has all the right to move freely within the EU
but y'all chatter waaay too much for me to go digging through the transcript to find some dubious harrassment that may or may not have crossed the line from our regular witty banter.
personally I dont mind if they mention their product, even a sentence or two about it - as long as its about how it relates to the different solutions that they just discussed. but no more than that
@AviD I was more getting at the idea that really people should be shipping whole env's down their build pipeline these days to get away from the "worked ok in test, broken in prod." problem.... Containerize all the things!!!
@RoryAlsop noob posts nooby answer, adi (or was it simon) gets annoyed, Giles heavily edits/is critical of the post, kalina takes umbrage at Giles approach, Avid is uninterested
I need one of those american announcer style voices to do these summaries
@RоryMcCune Everyone who revised the post did help improve it, and the OP has been around long enough to know better than to plagiarise, so I can understand Gilles comment in here. After reading it all, I see it as a minor kerfuffle, the post is improved, the OP has had some edumacation, and all is broadly on an even keel
Without the pointers, that would have taken far too long to figure out
specifically acting like the big man while fundamentally failing to actually improve the post and berating an obvious non-native English speaker in an elitist manner that he isn't elite enough to pull off
@TildalWave well.... we were supposed to play the support slot, but various nonsense prevented that so a mate's band filled in. So I went along anyway, and to the after party...
little bit aching from the headbanging, little bit sleepy, and I must have been singing too loud because my voice is interesting
@kalina well - I think from the transcript there was an earlier bit where he seemed to come in and say "fix my post" - and I know, etiquette is different everywhere, but the OP has been called up on politeness quite a few times in the past
So while Gilles may have been a tad abrupt, I do understand it
And overall, Gilles did then blockquote and link correctly so he improved the post
cool guy though. He introduced Edinburgh tattooists to the new thing in tattoo machines. They are silent - using bearings and a motor, rather than a bell-ringer mechanism
@Simon - this is how you want to take a photo of your arm:
