@RoraΖ If SNI is used, then yes.

@CodesInChaos Right, I forget about that extension

In principle you could use one certificate that contains several domain names and a client that doesn't use SNI, which would introduce some ambiguity, but that's a rather unusual combination.
Still you should edit your answer to replace url by domain or host name.
TLS protects the path and query parts of the url.

@Arperum Dayum, that's cool.

@Simon Yea, I just need to a) save up the money and b) find the right artist. the one I contacted (and who gave me that pricerange) might not be the best one. He's pretty good, but I'm not sure.

Yeah take your time.
@RoraΖ He's just another donut.

1:20 PM
@Simon Oh I will. This is not a decision I made on a day. It's a plan that has been running around in my head for a couple years now. Well, the decision on what exactly I want is about a year old, and before that I was still trying to decide over a couple different designs.

Getting a tattoo is an experience everyone should have. If you're not passionate about something enough to love it forever then you should probably re-evaluate things.
The problem with tattoos is that once you get one... you want another.
Before you know it you've got sleeves!

Yeeeeeep.
Mine says that I'm passionate about death.
That could be taken wrongly.

@Simon and kick drums

@RoryAlsop That one is indeed very true.

and bass drops

1:28 PM
@RoraΖ The bass clef is now one of the skull's eye.

@Simon Nice! I've wanted to design a musical tattoo. Haven't decided yet.

@RoraΖ Make sure that it's not too cheesy like the damn clef.

@Simon But it's so pretty.

were I going to get a tattoo, I'd probably go for something like

@CodesInChaos What is?
@RоryMcCune Yeah I've seen similar ones, they're cool.

1:33 PM
@RоryMcCune Ha, that's awesome.

you could go for a full set of those... bellows where the lungs are some kind of pump where the heart is, that sort of thing
would be cool

@RоryMcCune Are you a cyborg or an android?

@CodesInChaos A cydroid, duh.

@CodesInChaos it would need to be cyborg, those android things are insecure

pls roro

1:39 PM
@RоryMcCune yeah, a google brain doesn't sound like a great idea.

PLS CODOS

@Simon lol 'codos'
is that new

@RoryAlsop Yup, totally just made it up.

@Arperum if you want dragons on your back why don't just just get married and have some kids? :P

@TildalWave I don't get it

1:41 PM
@RoryAlsop Because kids are monsters.
MONSTERS!

@Simon s/kids/some kids

@RoryAlsop on (someone's) back: Persistently nagging or urging someone to do something.

@RoryAlsop I don't want to risk it.

^^^ @Simon just sayin'

1:42 PM
@TildalWave that's a monkey
@RоryMcCune yeeeeek
at least mine is in the green area

@RоryMcCune Is my Nexus 5 in the green?

@RoryAlsop androidvulnerabilities.org <-- from some guys in Cambridge

Though I guess I wouldn't mind to be in the pink EEEEEEYYYYYYOOOOO

@RoryAlsop Ye ye we tell them that don't we? Our little monkeys ... then you ask your wifi before going to bed if the dragons are asleep yet :))

@Simon nexus devices are the best at getting updates (for obv. reasons) but still not perfect

1:44 PM
@TildalWave heh - you do that too? Then I get the router to drop their packets :-)

how any corp. rolls out samsung devices with these kind of stats confuses me

@RоryMcCune But I don't want to buy an iPhone or a Windoes Phone!

@Simon soz

@RoryAlsop I thought it might be common enough practice that you'll get it ;)

@Simon don't then. Buy a good android phone or windows phone. You can choose ones that you can keep up to date...I'd recommend the OnePlus phones

1:46 PM
@RoryAlsop The OnePlus Two doesn't use cyanogen anymore.

motos are decent on the mid range and up update wise
@CodesInChaos: the new os is supposed to be nearly stock android

@CodesInChaos correct - it's on OxygenOS and it's quite nice
As configurable as Cyanogen
The only thing I miss is the sound processor app

A one year warranty is rather short as well.
IMO all phones suck software wise.

Cyanogen is pretty awesome, I'm loving my One Plus
@RoryAlsop Do you have a OP2 or did you put OxygenOS on your OP1?

@RoraΖ I gave my OP1 to my eldest, and I now have the OP2 (then the ripple down effect means middle child now has Galaxy S5, wife has S5 and youngest has S4)
think wife will move to S6 so youngest will also have an S5 at that point

1:56 PM
@RoryAlsop Yeah I have no reason to get a OP2. Kind of wanted to buy one though when the invite came through

@RoraΖ it's got quite a few improvements over the 1+1, but generally incremental rather than revolutionary
Better battery life, radio, mic, cameras etc

@RoryAlsop The laser focus on it is badass
It was the only reason I liked the iphone 6, except I can't buy one unless I give up my soul.

Q: Picking the Right Loan for You

Robert HenerySince most fund loans are utilized to cover bigger buys and you'll likely be paying enthusiasm on the text a loan sum for quite a long while, it's vital that you require a smidgen of investment previously to investigate your different moneylender alternatives with the goal that you can locate the...

@RoryAlsop My wife just upgraded to the S6 a few weeks ago. She loves it.

I want a one plus 2 but no invite yet, and I'm not sure if I should spend the money when I've got no job.
lol
@RoryAlsop hardware works the other way in my place. I tend to pass my old hardware to my dad.

@Simon assuming that because Android has stats available showing how insecure it is that Windows Phone and iPhone don't have any vulnerabilities is a bit silly

2:07 PM
@RoraΖ NOW IT'S GONE AND I DIDN'T GET A CHANCE TO FIND OUT HOW TO PICK THE RIGHT LOAN YET!!!!!

my old laptop HDD is in my dad's laptop, my old desktop ssd is in my laptop, and I got a new ssd for mine.

@JourneymanGeek If I get another invite I can throw it your way

@Xander: You need a good ah long.

I guess I might just get myself a new Nexus

@RoraΖ: Thanks.

2:09 PM
@JourneymanGeek oh, I do that - when it gets really old. Really old

since Windows Phone isn't really getting all that awesome even in the latest version

I might get it.

@JourneymanGeek Ah, yes, that's a valuable bit of advice.

@RoryAlsop: my dad's hardware is the oldest stuff we have in active use

old PCs from the early 3d accelerated/multicore era make excellent space heaters

2:10 PM
@Xander: if you don't pay, they'll do any of the following... splash red paint at your door, set your door on fire, lock/glue your lock, paint O$P$ on your walls...

@kalina new as recent model or new as from the store?

@M'vy I'm struggling to comprehend this sentence

I considered getting a Nexus, but there was no model that had a decent amount of memory and they didn't support SD cards either.

"I guess I might just get myself a Nexus 5X or 6P"
maybe I was being too ambiguous
by the time I make this choice it will be next generation time again, again

lol
sounds like me and PC hardware

2:15 PM
well my current phones achieve what I need

@kalina well you could want a new but not recent model. Which is technically a new phone, but not new.
In the case of the N5x it's probably a new new nexus then.

@kalina they have fewer vulns for sure
@kalina maybe not none, but I'm willing to wager fewer

@RоryMcCune that get announced to anybody

@RoryAlsop My Nexus 5 does the job for now, I really like it.

it's hard to tell how many bugs are in a closed platform whose patches say "we fixed some things"

2:18 PM
@kalina Of course.
@kalina Have you seen my rainbow dash tattoo?

@kalina sure, how much malware is there for iPhone?
@kalina how many jailbreaks are there for Windows Phone

@Simon if you have a rainbow dash tattoo I'm going to have an identity crisis

@kalina wot

simple fact is there's more evidence of malicious activity on the android platform, combined with bad vuln numbers and known patching process issues

@RоryMcCune this is mitigated by having a curated store

2:19 PM
@kalina google has one of those (nominally)

@RоryMcCune Windows Phones has no users, it's suffering from the "Linux not having any decent software" effect

The biggest problem with android is that their upgrade model sucks.

@kalina also not necessarily, remember the "click to jailbreak" of a while back

Look at my curated stored, my curated stored is amazing. Give it a lick, wooo! It tastes just like a curator.

@kalina ugh lazy argument windows phone has several million users

2:20 PM
@RоryMcCune Google Play is not the walled fortress that teh Apple App store is

@kalina that's not what google say

@JourneymanGeek all four grandparents have Nokia 3310 or 6210 phones - because they just work and last forever

@RоryMcCune several million vs the best part of a billion = waste of time to attack
@RоryMcCune the fact Google have had to kill switch more than once demonstrates they're nowhere near as walled fortress as Apple

@RoryAlsop: My mom had a nokia till the battery died

@kalina for whom, you know the economics of malware authors?

2:21 PM
Apps in the App Store have to be reviewed by Apple before they are published. This is not how the Play Store works at all.

I managed to get her to use a xiaomi

So based on a lack of evidence of vulnerability in iOS and Windows Phone your conclusion is that they have the problem but hide it better

(She's crazy about whatsapp, which has turned into the family gossip chatroom)

lolz

@kalina Apple's isn't walled fortress, is the way I view it
@Simon it doesn't work

2:21 PM
@kalina you know people have done decent levels of research on WP security
they didn't find much

@RoryAlsop pls

Have you seen the news articles about compromised apps in Apple

It's a walled fortress with the user on the outside.

@CodesInChaos lol

now I'm not saying those platforms are bug free by any manner of means, but the Android ecosystem is messed up

2:22 PM
@Simon I'm not saying Android is better (I'd love to, but I can't) but Apple is not good either
Windows, currently, seems to be ahead
(need to wash my mouth out after saying that)
;-)

@RоryMcCune it's exactly like Macs not being targeted during the 90s/early 00s
@RoryAlsop really?
really?

@RoryAlsop o lawd

@RoryAlsop: competition is glorious.

really
he's right

Windows phone is crap

2:23 PM
@kalina 'cause it looks similar, does not mean it has the same causes
@kalina what has that got to do with it's security?

I am not a windows person at all - but MS has sorted security better than most

who is talking about security, I'm talking about which phone I want next

(and I suspect eventually 'tablets' ended up being the competition MS didn't have in the desktop space)

@RoryAlsop although I do worry that they will mess it up with their "rush to hipster"

@RoryAlsop Better than who, Netscape?

2:24 PM
@Simon almost all large corporates

@kalina we were, we were explicitly talking about platform vulns

and... the current generation of wintel convertables are drool

ô_ô

The MS Security Development lifecycle is awesome compared to just about everyone

@RоryMcCune well that's a silly conversation to be having

2:25 PM
I think my view is too biased to understand this.
Maybe I should just go back at doing the pls dance.

Maybe I should just go back to not being here

@kalina we like you here :)

2:40 PM
@RoryAlsop That's not setting the bar very high. ;)

1 hour later…
4:04 PM

@RoryAlsop So how much did that PC cost?

@Simon do it. and video it

@RoryAlsop I would have done if I would have won the elections but toooo bad.
HEY I DIDN'T EVEN RECEIVE MY DAMN T-SHIRT
@StackExchange GIVE ME MY DAMN T-SHIRT YOU DONUTS
pls

@Simon ah I was going to say to you , I had a word with SE about that

4:07 PM
@RоryMcCune !!!!!!!!!!
Sooooo?

@Simon apparently they have a bar on giving T-Shirts to people who can't spell doughnut
Trololololololo

ffs rororororrorooooooooooo
God damn it I thought you were serious.
You got me good.

@Simon s'friday evening, I'm all out of serious

@RoryAlsop Nice!

@Simon I can do you a nice deal on some flippancy, got a bit of sarcasm lying around here somewhere, and probably some surrealism if I can find it behind the fish

4:09 PM
@RоryMcCune Is the fish that big?

@Simon yeah it's an eight story tall monster from the jurassic era
@Simon yours for Tree fiddy

dayum
AND NOW MY GNOME 3 DESKTOP WON'T LOCK
WHAT IS THIS TROLOLOLERY?

@TerryChia Well, Sh*t.

@Simon yeah I can see where you went wrong there.... you used gonme

@RоryMcCune You just misspelled gnome like you misspell donut.

4:19 PM
@Simon you know what I meant

@Simon STOP USING DESKTOP MANAGERS
Just let Ubuntu be Ubuntu

@RoraΖ wat

@CodesInChaos couple of thousand
And another thousand for the monitors, I guess

Don't you use desktop managers to manage your desktop?

@RoraΖ I use my desktop manager to have a GUI.

4:23 PM
I plan on getting a PC soon as well. Though a bit cheaper than yours.

This is a good spec. @David knows his stuff. Admittedly, he probably hadn't budgeted for the amount of noob questions I had to ask him

@RoryAlsop Nah, I knew there would probably be a few speed bumps along the way. It is just usually I can help the debugging process in person which helps a ton. :]

So what were the issues, purely software, no hardware failures?

@DavidFreitag so what you're saying here is that you're bummed you didn't get a trip to Scotland out of this :op

@CodesInChaos don't trust @DavidFreitag regardless of reviews
@DavidFreitag provides worse support than Dell

4:34 PM
@kalina Impossibru.

@RоryMcCune Not necessarily, but it couldn't have hurt :P

@Simon that's how bad his support is!

@kalina is right, I am not a 24 hour service center.

I'm always right, I don't think that was ever in question

pls

4:35 PM
svp
after a ridiculously busy day I now have a ridiculously busy night ahead of me
I could literally fall asleep already

@kalina instead you're off to a mega-club for a night of "Duff Duff Duff"'age?

I'm off to several locations of which I will give no description
I wouldn't call them "mega clubs", though
well, maybe tomorrow

da mega club

2000 peoples isn't "mega" anything

@kalina not sure that "mega-club" is much of an opsec fail.

4:37 PM
sure it is, you'd be surprised how few actually mega clubs there are in the world

mega club

@kalina it's would be a mega-busy day on the streets of lochgoilhead

@Simon well it's one up from super club

super club

@CodesInChaos If you want, you can give me a price range and I can throw parts at you until your head spins. But, like @kalina says I can't promise there won't be any issues.

4:39 PM
@Simon obviously you live in backwater Canada so you probably call a super club "something that doesn't exist"

super club
@kalina I live literally 30 mins away from a place called "New City Gas" which is a huge ass venue.

I think @Simon needs resetting
a huge ass-venue?

Yes, it's a venue full of chicks flashing their huge asses.

@RoryAlsop Fantastic! I have been searching around about that monitor issue, and it seems to be a W10 problem. Can you disable monitor sleep altogether?

4000 people is a decent sized club

4:40 PM
@kalina Is that NCG's capacity?

yes

Nice.

@kalina have you played there?

I think if I ever stepped foot into a club with 2000+ people in it I would implode

Now I understand why I almost end up wanting to murder someone every time I go there.

4:40 PM
@kalina @Simon I used to live fairly near Billy Bob's. That's a mega-club.

@RоryMcCune c'mon srsly?

@kalina waat, I was wondering how you knew the capacity
it's not the kind of information most people have to hand

I'm going to stop chatting now
enjoy your weekend

@RоryMcCune She got bored and counted

apart from DJ's who've played it

4:41 PM
@RоryMcCune Probably gets paid on that basis.

@Xander which implies she's played that club
@DavidFreitag which implies she's played that club

@RоryMcCune 'Xactly.

Google is hard, yo

@kalina Oh? I thought it was just me.
@RоryMcCune Not necessarily, it just means she was in the club at one point and got bored enough to count the bodies

Yeah you can find the info in the second link when you google "new city gas capacity"

4:43 PM
@Simon way. to. ruin. a. perfectly. good. conspiracy. theory
3

could just be misdirection
I'm really going now.

@kalina o/

@RоryMcCune :D

although that link says 3500 not 4000
@Simon are you covering for @kalina here
@Simon are you doing that 'cause when she played NCG, she met up with you
and you'd like to conceal that fact
#DaysOfOurDMZ
5

@RоryMcCune If that happened we all know that @Simon would be a pile of ash with eyeballs

4:45 PM
pls, I've never bothered to meet any artist there.

"Next Time on Days of our DMZ, @Simon and @kalina 's Donutty assignation is revealed"

PLS

"Discussions of LUFS and Kicks, over Coffee and Tim Hortons"
BTW I did warn everyone that I'm out of serious today, didn't I

Tim Horton's is overrated. Tim-Bits are quite nice, though.

The only Tim Hortons in this state went out of business a few weeks ago
It was in all the papers
Everyone was like "WTF is a Tim Hortons?"

4:47 PM
@Xander I've had coffee there once and it was disgusting.

@Simon Do you drink coffee at all?

@Xander One cup per day.

@Simon Ok then. Just wanted to set a baseline.

5:23 PM
@Xander A BASSLINE?!?!?

@Simon Is it kicking?

@DavidFreitag Kickin' like a sidechained kick.

@Simon I don't know what that means

Basically as the kick kicks in (lolol), the compression reduces the sound of the selected element or bus or whatevs to leave more room for da kick.

@Simon Yeah I don't have the time or attention span to read and comprehend all of that.

5:30 PM
My résumé should be comprehensive enough.

I think the person who I have been emailing has had a surname change in the middle of our email thread

^That's a traffic jam

@RоryMcCune :O
The people at the end of that jam should be shot in the face

@RоryMcCune Reminds me of that doctor who episode

@RoraΖ heh , indeed

5:45 PM
I really do hope the earth never gets to that point.

Don't worry, China's doing their part!

Just as long as that shit stays on the other side of the ocean I'm ok with that

pls dovid

Oceans are not protected against nuclear donuts.

5:48 PM
They are if we use your mom as a blast shield

pLS

@RоryMcCune One source says it was caused by a new checkpoint that reduced the 50-lane highway to 20. We have enough congestion around here when two lanes get dropped to 1!

@Iszi I have trouble even imagining a 50 lane highway... the largest one in scotland is briefly 5 lanes and mostly 2

@Iszi Here we have congestion when a lane merges on a highway with 3 lanes.

Could you imagine crossing 49 lanes of traffic to get to your exit?

5:56 PM
@DavidFreitag <shudder>

@DavidFreitag The Russians would do it with their eyes closed.
'Cause they don't care if they crash into someone.

@Simon In Soviet Russia, the lanes cross you.

I don't know about the rest of the world, but here people refuse to let you into their lane, it makes crossing even 3 lanes of traffic a huge PITA

@DavidFreitag Yeah - the solution is to avoid monitor sleep altogether (so Matrix screensaver across both screens, natch) and so far having the computer set to sleep seems to work. When it wakes, the monitors are both still there.

@Iszi Kinky.

5:58 PM
@RoryAlsop Cool, I'm glad there is a solution that "works"
