Wait, but then why would Windows report the same MAC address with a dash, while Linux uses colons?
Mar 24, 2020 18:53
Oh, so it’s not the OS being weird. Thanks, that helps.
Mar 24, 2020 18:52
Why is MAC address formatted differently two different systems that have the same OS? I ran the shell command “ifconfig -a” on two CentOS 6 machines and I see that one reports the “HWaddr” in the colon format while the other uses dashes. Why would this happen?

Q: Estimating number of people who selected a specific shape

DemCodeLinesLet's say we have 4 shapes (triangle, square, rectangle and circle) and 50 people are each asked to pick 1 of the four shapes. Based on statistics, it is said that half of the people (25) will select a triangle and the number of people who select a rectangle is twice the number who choose square....

Is there any quick and efficient way to find all paths between two nodes, given that I have a list of source_node -> target_node items?
Jun 7, 2019 01:17
I'm not sure if this is the right room to ask, but are there any good graphing algorithms that can be used to find all possible paths between two vertices?

There was a \[ missing earlier somewhere in the document, but \] is in there later on. Adding that \[ fixed it (started working with $).
Mar 21, 2019 01:07
@ryan Yup, working on it

It was just the fraction.

I just wanted the numerator to be on top of the denominator, instead of hanging around on the left side.

"Assume that price ($) of one pair of keys is given as p. As a result, the number of expected sales is provided by $f(p)=24e^{-3p}$. So expected income from sales is derived from $f(p)=24pe^{-3p}$. In this case, what's the price that maximizes gross income?"

If I use C to read bytecode from a Java file and execute each instruction, I am interpreting the code, right? Then, how are JIT interpreters able to "compile" those bytecode instructions into machine code?

I have this weird issue with virtual box where I can’t connect to a sql server that’s running on a windows host from a Linux guest. I set up the network to be bridged mode. Weirdly enough, if the network mode is set to NAT, I can connect just fine.

Sep 4, 2017 01:51
@Bob Where are you finding these?
Sep 4, 2017 01:50
@Bob Domains can be had for $7 for an entire year. Web hosting is more like $7/month, which comes out to $80 for an entire year after discounts.
Sep 4, 2017 01:39
Yeah, that would make more sense I guess.
Sep 4, 2017 01:39
@Ramhound No, but I was looking into setting up a domain and this example is the closest one to the current situation.
