which I fixed by apt installing libncurses5

I have come up with a better specification (and a new name) for xwlvxpx

it is easy to understand but hard to explain

Programs exist on a 2d grid

The first column of that grid is the "instruction column"

Instructions in the instruction column are executed top-to-bottom

In the example, the instruction column has P and w in it

To the right is the parameter space

which extends infinitely up, down, and to the right

this is where parameters go

Parameters are processed by an automaton which moves around the grid

It follows the paths made by the arrows

When at an intersection, it chooses which direction to move in based on the following priority list:

  4
3 X 1
  2

If it has visited a cell it doesn't come back to it

in this way it eventually visits every cell

once it finds a literal value it adds it to a list, and once it's done exploring the grid it sends that list to the instruction

Literals that take up multiple cells act as a cell group.

When the automaton visits any cell in the group, it stores the value of the whole group.

Critically, it also marks every cell in the group as visited.

Some instructions (loops, ifs, etc) have their own instructions.

These special ones have their own instruction column.

In the example, the w's instruction column is directly to the left of the w itself.
