also, it is day 2 of AIPFP Week
oh wait it's AIPFP
@Ginger mine is still AI touched, but just not what I had last night
I noticed
Because it was too similar to @allxy, even though I thought it might not be
So I returned to being a man of the [pipis]
A real [pipis] person
how long will you be that
13:14
Well after this week I'll switch back to the non AI version
And after that, indefinitely
ofc
@Ginger If anyone wants to implement this language be my guest
I'm going to bed early tonight
that time is now
goodbye everyone. Don't do stupid things and be safe and stuff

@RadvylfPrograms Do you have a chat room for it?
Not really
AviFS and I mostly discuss it in Discord
which I don't have
/usr/bin/dyalogscript does not exist in the docker image :|
I have decided what to name this language
presenting: niIawlavnavPavaa
which language?
uh
how would it work?
(pronounced "naw-lav-nav-pav-a")
naw man i wont

@lyxal cool, images?
13:34
@RadvylfPrograms Which channel?
Just with private messages. It'd be better to use a chat room here if we need discussion with multiple people I think.
We can use the APL Orchard, but right now, I'm investigating the missing /usr/bin/dyalogscript
I installed it by curling https://www.dyalog.com/uploads/php/download.dyalog.com/download.php?file=18.2/linux_64_18.2.45405_unicode.x86_64.deb from a plain debian container, worked fine aside from /opt/mdyalog/18.2/64/unicode/dyalog: error while loading shared libraries: libtinfo.so.5: cannot open shared object file: No such file or directory which I fixed by apt installing libncurses5
I'll do that for now
OK, if that works for you, then good.

@Neil That was even funnier because I heard the first two panels as them singing. ^_^
I'm. A. Fricking. Idiot.
@RadvylfPrograms We know ;)
I just spent half an hour debugging why adding apl to RTO didn't work on the front end, then I realized: I'm on my main server, not the RTO droplet :|
So… did you find out why? ;-)

Q: Source for bfbrute?

awiApologies if this isn't the right thing to post in codegolf meta, but I have no idea where else to post this. A while back, KSab wrote a tool that brute forces Brainfuck code. I'd like to codegolf with it, but it's down. Does someone still have it?

15:30
@RadvylfPrograms Amazing.
I thought we had a bot thingy that posted new answers to Hello World. Did we get rid of it?
0
A: "Hello, World!"

MayubeC# 9+, 38 bytes System.Console.Write("Hello, World!"); As of C# 9, the compiler directly supports top-level statements in a single file. This means that the infamous boilerplate of class Program { static void Main(string[] args) {...} } will be inferred at compile-time, and the top-level stateme...

lmao
I knew it was slow, I just underestimated how slow it was
Yeah there's a reason we switch NP/SP to bots lol
Elixir and 05AB1E have been added to the RTO prototype
15:37
did you have 05ab1e lined up to drop first until you realized it needed elixir or was it just really easy to add afterwards
Both, really. I was planning on adding 05ab1e, but knew I'd need Elixir first. Then, when I was browsing the languages that already had official docker images, I saw Elixir and added it to the list.
So it was just really easy all around.
Vyxal has been added to the RTO prototype
4
woah
Gotta hand it to the Vyxal people, installing it is quite painless
15:42
flax will be added to DSO when I release a stable version :)
@RadvylfPrograms RTO?
Uh oh, I forgot my password on the RTO server ._.
Phew remembered it
Always use passphrases, like IAmTheCoolestDevNoMatterWhatKyleFromAccountingSays
and its harder to crack if its long enough
15:48
For legal reasons that is not actually my password
@PyGamer0 exactly! I also like to include words that are commonly misspelled, and misspell them, like Hippopotamuss or Diarhear
same
my password is short....i need to change it quickly....
its not that short, its like 15 characters...
@PyGamer0 short is a terrible password. Many sites won't even allow that because it's not long enough
15:51
You just doxxed yourself
^^
like 15 characters isn't that much better
nice that they let you use spaces though
hmm what if i post my actual password...
SE is smart, it censors it for you
see: ***********************
@RadvylfPrograms docker pull dyalog/dyalog and it should be there.
(for legal reasons this is a joke, don't post your password)
15:52
ok my password is JsBQN!jAPLjKq93992
/s
@Mayube too late /s
I have no clue how to run Japt
It seems to download the online interpreter when you download the releases
@RadvylfPrograms install JavaScript. Delete all files from the install except for the first one alphabetically and the last one alphabetically.
actually my password is:
now ill go o/
@RadvylfPrograms i wont mind if you put Jyxal on there 👀
my password is a 140-byte long string of entirely control characters
9
@Seggan none of those are control characters
15:56
oops i forgot
I'm talking null bytes, carriage returns, vertical tabs, em spaces
tnb-wont-allow-me-to-send-140-newlines
"\n"*40 - Python, 7 bytes
it actually got sent for half a second
CMC: Send 140 control chars
16:02
@Seggan APL: ⎕UCS×⍳140
Okay I've figured out how to run Japt
It's a bit wack but meh
@Seggan C#: new string('\n',140)
@mathcat 4 bytes
@Seggan BQN: 140⥊@
okay s
16:05
@Seggan nice
okay so
I have come up with a better specification (and a new name) for xwlvxpx
it is easy to understand but hard to explain
hmm
I will use this program as an example:
P<"Hi"
w<1
 P<+<1
    ^<1
Programs exist on a 2d grid
The first column of that grid is the "instruction column"
Instructions in the instruction column are executed top-to-bottom
In the example, the instruction column has P and w in it
To the right is the parameter space
which extends infinitely up, down, and to the right
this is where parameters go
Parameters are processed by an automaton which moves around the grid
It follows the paths made by the arrows
When at an intersection, it chooses which direction to move in based on the following priority list:
  4
3 X 1
  2
If it has visited a cell it doesn't come back to it
in this way it eventually visits every cell
once it finds a literal value it adds it to a list, and once it's done exploring the grid it sends that list to the instruction
I'll figure out Japt later, I've got code and input working but I'll need to get args and stuff another time
You may say, "But Ginger, most literals take up more than one cell!"
Fear not, I thought of that
Literals that take up multiple cells act as a cell group.
When the automaton visits any cell in the group, it stores the value of the whole group.
Critically, it also marks every cell in the group as visited.
so in the below example:
P<<
 ^^
 15
it only processes the 15 once.
Some instructions (loops, ifs, etc) have their own instructions.
These special ones have their own instruction column.
In the example, the w's instruction column is directly to the left of the w itself.
(also, vs are essentially noops when used in an instruction column. they move the pointer down but do nothing else.)
@RadvylfPrograms what do you need in a docker image to host a language on RTO? Do you always need a docker image or can you host eg python-based languages without one?
The instruction columns don't extend down (or up) forever.
The top is always at the level of their instruction (or the top of the grid for the main one), and the bottom is the last instruction in their chain.
16:21
It has to be a docker container on the server, but there will be ways to upload, e.g., a language written in Python and it'll handle the docker stuff for you
For example, in the below program:
P<1

P<2
The 2 will never be printed.
That's it!
hopefully yall understood at least some of it
my 2 brain cells cannot comprehend the amount of information you gave.
Bash and Zsh have been added to the RTO prototype
todo: fix my mockup to work with these new langs
@PyGamer0 sorry
Okay...I have a really weird error here
16:31
ooo

bash: ./cs: No such file or directory
I noticed that
got a similar error when running bash on the mockup
bash-5.1# mv cs /usr/local/bin
bash-5.1# cs
bash: /usr/local/bin/cs: No such file or directory
16:33
(bc it shows stderr)
I'm wondering if this is an issue with bash on alpine
inb4 cs is echo bash: ./cs: No such file or directory or smth like that

@RadvylfPrograms Sweet, I've been looking for a new home for LMBM since TIO is inactive, and I'm too lazy to make my own
we are here to help
(I think)
16:36
Yeah, it works fine on debian
Maybe a musl libc issue or something
how about Etch
> bash: : No such file or directory
Process finished with exit code 0

Q: Convert from Two's Complement to Decimal

RomanpConvert from Two's Complement to Decimal Take an input, and convert it from Two's Complement notation (binary where the first bit is negated, but the rest are taken as normal) into decimal. Input can be as a string, a list of digits, a number, or pretty much any other format which is recognizably...

17:11
@Ginger How about posting stuff like this in The Tarpit? Not that language development is off-topic here, but I've had to antifreeze The Tarpit several times recently and it makes me sad.
Finally added Scala to the RTO prototype
CC @user
That's 16 languages, 7 of which were added in the last four hours, so I think I'll leave it at that for now :p
I'm going to have to redo all of this, probably pretty soon, so I don't want to do too much work yet
Y'know what...
I'm not moving to Firecracker.
What we've got now works well enough, if I put it on a VM I'll just accept the tiny risk of someone breaking out
Since all that really allows someone to do is run a crypto miner for a few hours, and/or replace all of the languages on OISB with S10K or something
I'm still going to buy that server though
Because if I control the hardware, I can add something TIO could never do that would be really cool: Fastest code arenas
Plus, other features I've been thinking about like limited networking between sandboxes for various interesting projects, a KotH arena that handles the boring stuff like fetching new answers, etc.
17:32
cool
more incentive for me to get back to work on that mockup
In other news, JWST has finally been activated
I'm thinking I'll go ahead and buy the server rack and rails tonight. Leaving my R610 sitting on a table for three years has probably not been the optimal environment for it.
Radvylf 610?
@RadvylfPrograms I'm going to make the language bug report dialog
what URL should it send data to?
wss://www.youtube.com/watch?v=dQw4w9WgXcQ
POST
not wss
Then https:www.youtube.com/watch?v=dQw4w9WgXcQ
17:47
Last time I checked you didn't own YouTube
Oh right that was Drew Gooden
Why not just make the "report a bug" thing you're adding redirect to the issues page on OISB/oisb
where's that
oh
._.
@RadvylfPrograms hey guy
@RadvylfPrograms How's the KotH-writing going
It's not, I have the attention span of an HTTP server

@RadvylfPrograms but with how many worker threads?

@RadvylfPrograms added links to footer

@Mayube I can probably get it running on DSO, it's a single Python file so I shouldn't need to do any virtual filesystem tricks...

I have just had an idea

I was trying to get flax working a while ago but the virtual filesystem is weird

capitalizing on wars for reputation go brr /s
Wow
19:33
I also managed to get 14 upvotes on my Python answer to that question
so that's a total of (62 + 14) * 10 = 760 rep
Less because of the repcap
yea
I don't get enough upvotes on answers, but way too many upvotes on my questions...
Why do questions always get so many votes anyway
publicity
lots of people see em
more visible overall
19:34
in my case about 9000
in four days
That's 2.25k views per day...
and if that gets to 10000 then I get a shiny gold badge
an answerer could think "ooh nice challenge" and upvote it then answer it and not look at any existing answers
@Ginger Not so shiny. None of the badges are really shiny sadly. What is shiny is that really nice "+10" green notification
oh yea
19:37
Your first gold badge is kinda shiny, because it noticeably changes the appearance of your user card in questions and answers
I managed to get 24 upvotes shortly after I posted it, causing me to repcap overnight
the rest make little difference
one month left until I can get one shiny gold badge...
I will never not see badge counts as MMO currency
"Yeah I have 1 gold, 40 silver, and 90 copper"
Copper?
You do mean bronze, right?
19:38
there are no bronze coins
There should also be wood and plastic badges
You earn one plastic badge each time you post something
so it's a participation badge
@ophact coins, not medals
Ah okay
19:56
> This account is temporarily suspended for voting irregularities. The suspension period ends in 6 days.
wass dat
20:09
15 hours ago, by hyper-neutrino
but let's not discuss suspensions, i'll just mention that if you're grinding for vote badges (and BTW, please actually take the time to make sure your votes are sensible and promote quality content and aren't just for the sake of boosting your number), you don't have to worry about automatic suspension, and if you upvote one particular person a lot the system may delete the votes but unless a mod identifies socks you'll at worst get a warning
Oh it's a suspension
sorry
I didn't know what it means
@RadvylfPrograms \o/
Would you like a 150 rep bounty on an answer?
(I'd give 500, but I'm a little short on rep right now)

20:25
No silly, I'd tie a giant rubber band to it
Oh sorry, I only execute nugget deals in the alley behind Denny's.
I'd be happy to send you my person-trebuchet to help you get here.

> the alley behind Dennis's
@RadvylfPrograms it may take 3-5 business days, I'm afraid my trebuchet-trebuchet is in the shop for repairs
20:28
My trebuchet magnet was taken by the FAA because I kept accidentally yoinking passenger planes out of the sky
@RadvylfPrograms accidentally? ;)
@mathcat damn, you've figured out how to compete with ATO
@RadvylfPrograms What about ... illegal chicken tender?
It's still chicken tender
Legal chicken tender qualifies under two categories
True
@Mayube Will you send the person-trebuchet to Radvylf using a person-trebuchet-trebuchet?
20:38
@user indeed, but as mentioned it's at the person-trebuchet-trebuchet shop right now for repairs

The "product" (which we probably won't even implement) is a homework scheduler
Oof
Not oof
It's basically a free class because we do literally nothing
I can just work on my own software projects with the free time I get
Not that I actually do anything productive with that free time lol
@user Beautiful, incredible, and definitely realistic
21:27
That guy was 146, I believe, and probably dead now
I went a bit overboard with the first and third slides but whatever, I'm going to have my group members present them and take the second slide, which is kinda normal, myself
I'm up to 460/1000 on Semantle 53 but I can't get further :(
It's a hard one
Oh yeah, score

@lyxal Yeah. Right now the front-end is a total sussy amogus.
2
It just sends the code to code, the input to stdin, and then combines the stdout and stderr
But, fear not, the prototype-front-end is going to be the next thing I make actually work
E.g., the back-end has full support for arguments and compiler arguments but the front-end just doesn't care like a fricking impostor
