@K.Dᴀᴠɪs If you want to look at the errors in more detail, you might want to temporarily disable AIM. With AIM installed/enabled, as you will see a lot of errors generated by FIRE trying to send to the deleted endpoint, which has been intentionally disabled for FIRE on the MS side. However, that does not cause the actual problems you're seeing, it just reports more errors in the console.
Those will likely be the "Forbidden" responses.

@K.Dᴀᴠɪs The following should work for clearing the MS write token: localStorage['fire-user-data'] = JSON.stringify(Object.assign(JSON.parse(localStorage['fire-user-data']), { metasmokeWriteToken: '', readOnly: false })); It also clears the readOnly flag, just in case.

@Makyen Thanks for that, I will see if that works. Will it just prompt me to reauth?

@K.Dᴀᴠɪs That's what I'd expect. I didn't actually go that far in testing it. I just verified the data structure and JSON string, but didn't actually assign it back to localStorage. I did look at FIRE's code and those two values being cleared will result in FIRE calling getWriteToken().
@K.Dᴀᴠɪs OK. Now fully tested. Yes, that does result in FIRE going through the process to re-obtain the write token, the next time you open a FIRE popup.

@K.Dᴀᴠɪs what issue with autoflagging are you seeing?

@ArtOfCode It's not autoflagging for me. Hasn't for the last 24 hours
Who has the privilege to flag on my behalf? Is it MS or FIRE? In other words, can fire flag for me w/o a MS account? If not, I might just delete my MS account and remake.

12:31 PM
@K.Dᴀᴠɪs Not every day you will get autoflagged, it depnds on your conditions, and weather you are core or not

@K.Dᴀᴠɪs Negative - metasmoke is what's casting the flags. That said, deleting and recreating your account won't help - I've had a check through your settings, you're correctly set up for autoflagging. The frequency of flags you're likely to see isn't particularly high, so I'd wait a few days (probably give it a week total) and check again.

@K.Dᴀᴠɪs Ah, that kind of flag
Check that the posts you're flagging aren't deleted, that's the most common cause of that error

I did, and I am still able to manually flag them

12:34 PM
Okay... next time you're about to spam flag something, ping me so I can pick it out of the logs and find out what's wrong
If there's a bug, I doubt recreating your account is likely to fix it

@K.Dᴀᴠɪs Got those requests on the network tab? Seeing the responses is what'll let me diagnose things

looks very similar to what I have been experiencing intermittently, possibly related to Metasmoke being slow to respond

@ArtOfCode Thanks for the stickers + letter! They just arrived. :D

12:38 PM
@tripleee interesting, what route?

URL something like https://metasmoke.erwaysoftware.com/api/w/post/107955/deleted?key=xxx&token=yyy‌

@tripleee yup, by-design
that route requires a trusted key

and they key I have isn't trusted?
key=55c3b1...

most of 'em aren't, lemme check

also I have 500 (Internal Server Error) for https://metasmoke.erwaysoftware.com/api/v2.0/posts/107964/flag

12:41 PM
@ArtOfCode Yeah the one I show does say flag options not present. Maybe in that case the post was already deleted. I will try to grab the next one.
{"status":"failed","message":"Flag options not present"}

that's FIRE's key, not trusted

so FIRE is trying to do things it lacks privileges for?

@K.Dᴀᴠɪs Yup. Basically if metasmoke is returning JSON, then it's by-design for whatever reason - post is deleted, you already flagged it, etc etc. If it's returning an ActionController page, probably a bug
@tripleee yup
@tripleee got the response?

just the log entries in the dev console

probably have to put some logging in and run that for a while

@ArtOfCode Probably, but I'd want a demonstrated problem first
Not aware of any existing "we're missing posts" issues

@Undo nor me, but I'm told we've missed a couple

"couple" doesn't sound convincing for that kind of system :P

¯\_(ツ)_/¯

It would be good to build a diagnostic system for "are we missing post IDs", but I don't think it's something that needs to be permanent.

aye
wondering about S3 or just text files

4:36 PM

@ArtOfCode Why not just a "run it locally for a few days in silent mode, write IDs to text files, see if there are gaps" system?

Oooer. Swag received @ArtOfCode thanks for the personal message, I wasn't expecting that :)

Don't need big infra for that kind of thing.

@Undo kinda works
need a non-Smokey source of IDs that come across the websocket too, so we can verify we have the right ones
@DavidPostill :)

4:41 PM
@ArtOfCode Why can't we assume the IDs should be a solid block?
Take the last ID on each site at time of start, last one at time of end, expect to see every ID between there

not 100%, might also be kind of trolling...

eh
no idea what to do with that

@ArtOfCode It looks like I first visited Charcoal HQ on Sep 5 '16 11:46 AM ... not as active in the last 6 months since I changed status from unemployed to employed ...

@Undo because we get updates too

@DavidPostill: It seems this is your first time sending feedback to SmokeDetector. Make sure you've read the guidance on your privileges, the available commands, and what feedback to use in different situations.

@Undo we don't just get new posts, we get edits and bumps too
those won't be sequential

@ArtOfCode Maybe run it for a week, pull IDs with last_activity_date in our range later from SEDE?

could do
