Q: Do Wookies use human toilets?

kingledionInspired by an article on Deadspin, relevant quote here: I assume there’s an entire EU novel series out there dedicated to Wookiees and their sanitary habits... If there is any place to find out, it is here! The evidence for yes is that, as far as I can tell, there is only one head on ...

@Jenayah No prob - Drizzt is actually Forgotten Realms, as well.

12:21 AM
Anyone with headphones/able to listen to something for me? I can't figure out what an intro is saying, and it might be relevant for said question

Sadly, I'm getting ready to shut down and head home for the evening.

aaaw
well, enjoy the ride/walk back home :)
eh, I'll just put it in the question

Oh, I'm an American, so I'll be driving home, all alone, in my car (listening to the Steelheart audiobook).

next time drag your cat to work
that'll teach him not to be a lazy butt all day, and you'll have someone to talk with on the way home :D

12:42 AM
@Jenayah What is it?

@Jenayah What do you need from it? The part at 0:57

Basically the guy starts talking at 0:58 but I have no idea what he's saying
I can't figure out the words ._.

@Jenayah I see why.

So maybe he's talking about the book above, maybe he's talking about what's going to happen in the album, maybe he's talking about unicorns what do I know

12:46 AM
Maybe it's not meant to be anything?

maybe

It doesn't even sound like English to me.
Chinese, maybe.

Ukrainian band singing in English, save for an intro in Chinese? Talk about a melting of languages :D
Thanks for taking the time to listen to it by the way

@Jenayah NoPro.

@Jenayah what is Red Hood called in French comics?

@CorvoAttano He's simply called Red Hood

Q: Are there any other episodes of Star Trek that deal with mental health?

AureliusBack when the series was produced, mental health was not as widely discussed as it is today. I recently rewatched S5E03 of ST: VOY (Extreme Risk) which shows B'Elanna Torres self-harming to deal with the trauma of discovering that many of her friends were massacred in a battle back in the Alpha Q...

would seem so but can't speak for the people who del-voted

Nor can I, but as far as I know answers are not supposed to be deleted for being wrong.
A pity it doesn't list the delete reason.

There's wrong and wrong... If the guy didn't use the Polyjuice potion it doesn't become an answer to the question... Kind of
though you can still flag for mod attention
Ahah, homepage is full of Star-stuff

@Jenayah I would argue that wrongness (or potential wrongness) doesn't make something not an answer; it just makes it (potentially) not the right answer.
@Jenayah I did.

@Alex alright, let us now the outcome when it's there :)

@Alex Irony, curiosity, call it what you will.

@RDFozz I'd say it's irony because you'd expect the answer that does not appear on the homepage to be the one that would not receive attention, rather than the other way around.

@Alex I'd call it curiosity, since I had to look at your profile to find it.

@RDFozz Oh, that's what you meant. In that case it would be ironic that that's the one that got upvoted, but the irony was actualized by user curiosity to find what I was talking about.

@Alex I VTDed because it didn't answer the question. Since Grindelwald didn't use Polyjuice, that's irrelevant to the question, and doesn't actually give an answer.
Also:
> When should I vote to delete an answer?
You may vote to delete answers in the following cases:

The answer is extremely low quality: There is little to no scope for improvement
Top answer here recommends against deleting simply wrong answers but says that it might be allowed based on the help center: scifi.meta.stackexchange.com/questions/3293/…
But anyway, this specific example is IMO NaA.

@AnkitSharma Site flags work better than chat pings. That way, whichever mod is online/active can do it, without any unnecessary notifications for other mods.
As a former mod yourself, I'd expect you to know that ;-)
What was the issue, anyway? I didn't read the whole conversation.

@Mithrandir The argument against that, though, is that it essentially gives high reputation users greater weight to their votes.

True.

In my opinion the low quality measure is not referring to the correctness/incorrectness of an answer, but to the post itself.

@TheLethalCarrot my answer to that question: because they didn't think about any of the plot and so the plot is terrible. Had to say it

Oh the plot was terrible, jumped around all over the place and left most of what it setup unanswered
@SQB Is there any reason when editing you change inline links to [][text] [text]: link style? That doesn't offer any improvement at all and is more of a stylistic choice... I myself prefer the inline link style

maybe because they think the answer is wrong?

@Mithrandir except it says the same thing as practically all the other answers but adds in extra detail and quotes... though the DV may come from one of the other possibilities I added I suppose

*shrugs* I didn't upvote because of the suggestion of enchantment
but nice ID

TBH I personally don't think she was enchanted but there are a few people that think she may have been enchanted and I can see the reasons why they may think that so added it

SQB
11:08 AM
@TheLethalCarrot I very much prefer the links at the bottom of the post, for two reasons: it makes the text easier to read when editing (since there are no long URL interspersed), and it makes it easier to see what the outgoing links are. So I always clean them up. It also seems to be the preferred style by SE, since that's what the editor does when adding a link through clicking the button.

Hmm... but it makes it easier to keep track of inline, @SQB - if I want to change a link or something
also, much easier to type out, and it's what's used in comments and chat so less things to remember

I was kinda disappointed I missed the fantastic beasts films in cinema, but as of more recently I feel like that was a good choice. :l

SQB
Well, I'll try and remember not to do that on any of your posts, nor on posts by the killer root.

was worth a watch, @doppelgreener - it was just... underwhelming

TBH I don't think you should be changing it at all, it has no effect on the output of the post and is merely a stylistic choice
Yeah FBs was quite good but it did lack in a few places

SQB
11:12 AM
Also, in case anyone was wondering, I think those 4 questions are the only ones that need . I must say I was surprised that we didn't have that tag yet.
@TheLethalCarrot it's a habit I picked up when I still had to worry about the 6 character minimum. And I maintain it seems to be SE's preferred format.

SE's default format when clicking the add link button.. and even then it uses numbers not words for obvious reasons
And I'd guess the reason it is the default format is because of images requiring the link twice

![image desciption](link)

That doesn't have the click through though
You can do [![image description](link)](link) but that's just a pain

SQB
I think that named links make them easier to track, though. I try to pick meaningful names, such as [wiki] or [isfdb]. If you see something like that in the editor, you can expect a link to Wikipedia or the ISFDb, respectively.

Sure named links are better than numbered ones but personally I prefer inline links, doesn't mean I'll change a none inlined one if I see it though

SQB
11:30 AM
Seems I missed one .
@Randal'Thor I was wondering, can you set the bottom feed for this room to user -637 (MTV Babel fish)?

Any mod should be able to do that if any of them present want to

11:45 AM
TBH I don't really care about link formatting but the titles could have used a rewording (the latest one at least)

The titles certainly could, I have some open in tabs to edit when I can

@SQB not technically possible

Can you rename it though Mith?

@SQB No, I'd need to create a new user and rename that.
But before doing that, we should probably get a better list of tags for M&TV questions to be fed here.

SQB spent a while fixing them up yesterday haha
That bottom user is for possible id Qs

11:52 AM
I'm going AFK now, but I think this is something any mod can do, not just a local mod.

Any mod I believe

@TheLethalCarrot ... but the list is terrible atm. M&TV has loads of tags that could be relevant/interesting to people here.

It had some more tags added but I think he ran into problems with max size

@Randal'Thor Perhaps hash it out on meta first?

What would you want adding?

11:55 AM
That can be edited at any time, the list of tags.
Re: earlier...

Each feed can be granted a new user, but they cannot be granted existing users.

@TheLethalCarrot Harry Potter, Star Wars, Star Trek, Marvel, Doctor Who, ... as many of our top tags as will fit in the box.

I'm off though, ciao!

@Randal'Thor They're all present in the feed unless I'm missing something... there are 2 MTV feeds now
Ciao
Though Marvel is there as MCU but I don't think they have a Marvel tag

11:58 AM
OH, there's a second M&TV feed!
Ignore me then. Sorry @SQB.

Might be worth adding [x-men-cinematic-universe] mind you

@TheLethalCarrot probably add novel tag while it's still up and with your name

Good point didn't look at the Q
What's this meant to say mind you?
> At the end, the main character is revealed to be head of a government (empire?) than any in the region.

No idea. I know user 141thingy asked about it yesterday but the comment seems to be gone now
@Randal'Thor can probably tell us what user141thingy suggested

I was thinking something like "to be head of a government (empire?) higher than any in the region."
Or the correct word for higher haha but don't want to add it in

Q: YA Sci-Fi book series - Alien ships attack Earth and steal a family, download knowledge into their brains

Peter SounthararajahA series of young adult books I read as a child in the 90s. The basic storyline, I think, is that Earth came under attack by alien ships that feed off our photon cannons, and they steal a family, possibly a ruling family. They also steal the sun.
