Q: How to change trimmed paper size mid-document with the same stock paper size

Teokan Duran DemircanBasically what the subject says. Project MWE code can be found in this link: https://www.sharelatex.com/5258121182fkxppbnvfsjr The problem is in pages ix and x (9 and 10). The code for this page are located in /intro/Not_blank.tex. The paper size initializations are located in /setup/papersetu...

@samcarter Look at the pizza hat (egreg is wearing it)! They surely copied it from tikzducks!

4 hours later…
8:10 AM
@yo' awwwwww
@samcarter now we need rectangular glasses too. :)
@DavidCarlisle oh no
@HaraldHanche-Olsen oh no

2 hours later…
10:37 AM
Quack!

@PauloCereda Quack

@JosephWright ooh a duck
With a Mac mini on his living room
:)

10:57 AM
@PauloCereda Indeed

11:31 AM
@JosephWright I am thinking of installing a linux Distro on the entire disk of my Mac, but on the other hand, OSX is interesting for programming too...

11:49 AM
holla
is there any difference between texlua and luatex?

12:03 PM
@JosephWright I don't understand, I do texlua build.lua save 1-criticalnotes and just after texlua build.lua check 1-criticalnotes and it faill

@Maïeul looks as if once xelatex and once lualatex was used.

yes, both of them
stdengine="luatex"
checkengines={"xetex","luatex"}
checkruns=3

2 hours later…
2:13 PM
@CarLaTeX They indeed look similar :)
@PauloCereda I actually tried to make one, however the ducks eyes are too tall and where visible above and below the glasses -> this looked really strange.

yo'
Time to go to the church practise for tomorrow and Monday, it's 18 songs to play, and couple pieces of Christmas music on top! @egreg @PauloCereda @barbarabeeton
So if I don't appear online: Merry Christmas!

@yo' Peaceful and joyful Christmas to you and your family!

yo'
2:28 PM
@egreg our family is actually "+1" since two days ago :-)

@yo' Great news!

yo'
@egreg yep!

2:41 PM
@yo' Wow, what a wonderful Xmas! :):):)

Merry Christmas to all of you! Thank you all for the nice discussions about tex and other things in this chatroom! You made me smile on many occasions!

4:14 PM
@Maïeul We normalise as far as possible, but it can be that there are still engine-dependent variations. That's why we support per-engine .tlg files. You probably want to texlua build.lua save -e xetex 1-criticalnotes (saves a file just for XeTeX)

4:27 PM
@samcarter That's a great “presepio” even if it's missing the ox-duck. ;-)

4:48 PM
@egreg @samcarter you could use the horns of the devil duck to create the ox!
@DavidCarlisle Have you seen the King bringing pizza?

@CarLaTeX Gold, frankincense and myrrh are old fashioned

@CarLaTeX Great Idea! I have to try that.

@egreg Much better cake, pizza and brunello ahahah

@samcarter

@CarLaTeX No Brunello when I visited Montalcino (don't drink and drive), but a sandwich with “pecorino di Montalcino”, not to be confused with “pecorino di Pienza”. For the outsiders, the two towns are 20 km apart. Have you ever been at the Abbazia di S. Antimo, near Montalcino?

5:04 PM
@UlrikeFischer looks remarkably similar to the document I just compiled :)

@egreg No, but I've already got some appetite!

@samcarter ;-) I think the horns should be a bit more apart and "behind the head"
(Side remark: we had very good cheese today, sent per packet ;-))

5:24 PM
@CarLaTeX Look

@egreg Ooooh

@egreg Wow

@CarLaTeX There are a few monks who pray at the canonical hours. It's also possible to stay.

@egreg a spiritual holiday :)

And two pizzas at a time!

2 hours later…
7:44 PM
@Maïeul you have a single saved tlg file (it seems from the diff) that was generated by luatex since the luatex and xetex output is different you need separate .luatex.tlg and .xetex.tlg files

3 hours later…
10:32 PM
@yo' Merry Christmas, my friend! <3
@samcarter <3
@samcarter Personally, I think the horns too thin and needed to be ticker. :)
@samcarter as it is, the ox reminds me of the devil duck. I still think the horns should be ticker. :)

10:51 PM
@yo' -- have a joyful christmas sadly, i shall be spending it in the hospital. this morning brought freezing rain, and i slipped. busted a hip. so i'm out of commission for a while. gordon is performing valet duty -- very much appreciated. great good luck in snagging a husband.

@barbarabeeton Oh no

@barbarabeeton Oh that's sad. I hope you will be well soon.

@barbarabeeton oh no, I am sorry to hear! Get well soon!

@yo' -- niece? nephew? brother? sister? (anyhow, congrats and best wishes.)

@DavidCarlisle and @JosephWright understood! Thank you, I will get in touch with that next year. I wish a merry christmas

11:01 PM
:41924958, @UlrikeFischer, @PauloCereda -- oh, yes. surgeon tells me that if it's a voluntary procedure it usually takes 6 weeks to be able to drive again, but typically it's possible even to climb (a few) stairs in just a few days. thanks for all your good thoughts.

@barbarabeeton Please, take care! <3

@barbarabeeton oops hope you feel better soon

11:21 PM
@barbarabeeton Oh, no! Take care! And have a merry Christmas nonetheless! I'm sure Gordon will do his best for it.

yo'
@barbarabeeton I'll keep you in my thoughts!
@barbarabeeton funny how you don't expect me to have a child on my own (good guess, btw). It's a second nephew Lukáš (Lukas), his older brother is Matěj (Matthieu)

@yo' The name should have been Marek, Lukáš is for the third son.

11:37 PM
@yo' -- nice! teach him latex ... at the proper time.

yo'
11:49 PM
@barbarabeeton his dad is a nuclear chemist and his mom is a chemical engineer. Eeeee shall I continue?
@egreg haha really funny
