I think that
this question, although highly voted and with three answers, isn't about Ubuntu, or Linux in general. Yes, in Linux not all files need to have an extension, but, as one can tell from the screenshot, the OP uses Windows and the most probable reason that they don't see the files extensions is that they haven't disabled the Windows option for hiding extensions for known file types.
