I heard my friend's brother who was playing the game where the music is coming. I asked my friend but he doesn't play video games.
We've got a class of questions related to game identification that we seem to be rather inconsistent on.
We've gotten several questions where the asker wants us to identify something, and believes the original source is from a game, but has nothing but their memory to back up that assertion. Th...
In Super Paper Mario, there is a part where the protagonists are enslaved by Mimi for breaking a vase, and need to work for her to get 1,000,000 rubees to pay her back.
It would take a very, very long time to get that many manually, so in the game the player is supposed to steal the money from a...
I am currently dealing with one of the weirdest bugs I've ever seen. On Mac, using (I think) zsh, some scripts that seem to be taking simple actions end with bizarre errors. For example:
sh: /Users/kbuilder/.nvm/versions/node/v10.17.0/bin/rm: No such file or directory
No, that's the exact error message. There are no spaces there. What makes it weird is that there isn't supposed to be an rm in that path.
I don't control the scripts directly, but I'm pretty sure what's happening here is that the script that causes this error is just doing rm <something> and the shell is doing something weird with the PATH.
In the context where this is happening, the directory /Users/kbuilder/.nvm/versions/node/v10.17.0/bin should be in the PATH.
But rm shouldn't resolve to that, especially if it then fails because it doesn't exist. It should resolve to /bin/rm.
And this error doesn't happen consistently. It seems to work for a while and then fail randomly, but it never works long enough for my entire build job to finish
Halo: The master chief collection just released on PC, and I want to know something before I buy: Does it need a XBLive Gold subscription to play online on PC?
While messing around with the speed control on Youtube, I realized that I am MUCH more sensitive to tempo than just 1x vs 1.25x, and that I can easily tell between 1x and 1.05x, and even 1.02x. I began to wonder about sped up music. What's an iconic example of music speeding up?

I just find it difficult to get updated date on the question of if there was an updated EV-exp-share system in use or I'd the old info safe to take into account? Pls help! Ty..
@fredley The trick is all my solutions are really bad
I just went back and added a hash to the list of points for day 3 and it's so much faster than comparing every point in wire 1 to every point in wire 2
@fredley Yeah it was way nicer to write than any other low level stuff I've done
I had to write an algorithm out in python first for one of them but then I rewrote it in rust and it went from taking a minute to do like 1% of it to being done completely in less than a second
They wrote a program that completed all days' puzzles in 41ms total
> All solutions are single-threaded, but make extensive use of SIMD techniques and therefore require a recent Intel-compatible processor with support for the AVX2 instruction set.
In Pokemon Sword Shield hidden items are littered throughout the map. I'm referring to those that subtly blink as you walk near them.
From my experience, I noticed that some of the hidden items I have previously picked up would respawn at the same location, but I can't figure out the pattern. F...
When creating a perfect competitive pokemon, some attributes need to be correct on hatch/catch while others can be improved. This generation makes it easier than ever to turn a pokemon into a perfect pokemon.
Lets say I have a pokemon that, because of shininess, sentimental value, or other reaso...
@Wipqozn I don't think it has Ironman. Also, it's hard to say if it's buggy vs intention choices. I mean, it's probably a bug, but when you're behind full cover, your guy doesn't lean out to shoot like in xcom. Or if you're on high ground behind partial cover, your guy doesn't like lean up and over it to fire down, so he can't actually see guys on the ground
I hope it's a bug, because that means it will feel better after a patch, but maybe it's a (bad) design choice
I played a couple hours and I think I'm going to wait for a few patches. The theme feels good, and I like the free-aim, but there's a lot of UI frustrations
and I've read (but not verified) yet that when graphics are set to ultra, they're actually on low. Which I hope is true because the graphics look not great
It's unclear though if it's some interaction of full cover vs half cover, having both at the same time, or something else.
The free-aim and way it models bullets and hits (no percent chance to hit like xcom) is really cool though
Anyway, I hope it's a bug and gets fixed (though if it is a bug, that kind of bug existing on release is not a good sign). Because it's been my only major complaint so far. But it is pretty major
I'm watching someone play and sometimes guys do pop out from behind cover. It's inconsistent. So yeah, hopefully a bug
Oh, and the overwatch action is better than in XCOM, since you can set the length and width of an overwatch cone to carefully pick where you want to fire
I am a long-time Rocket League fan. I love the game. However, I do not know how we are supposed to get Rocket Pass 5's Premium Tiers. This is because 10 Keys have been used to unlock Rocket Passes 1-4. However, The Blueprint Update, which will change the key and crate systems, comes with Rocket P...
@Frank Yeah, kinda. I mean, we had already decided on my start date, and I had all my hardware and stuff picked out, so it's not like I was still waiting to see if I got the job, but there was still that little bit of worry
Although it'll still be a week before my laptop arrives -.-
So for now I'm using my own mobile computing setup
I've recently started playing Diablo II 1.14d. 2- hours into the game, I really got frustrated by the limited stash size. Googling this issue brought Plugy to my attention but alas, it didn't support the latest version.
I'm kind of in a dilemma, Diablo II is a really great game and it would be ...
@SaintWacko My SP3 stays by the couch and is only used for stuff that I don't want to do on my phone (or if my phone is out of reach). It's also better for work travel than my laptop, since my work laptop is a beast.
@Ronan did you add me to the AoC leader board, or did it do that automatically from last year?
@MBraedley I carry mine around in a little sling bag. I also, as you can see in that photo, have a little arc mouse and a full size keyboard that folds flat
And a little while back I upgraded my whole charging solutions, so I now have a USB-C charger with an adapter that can charge my Surface and is waaay smaller than the OEM charger
And I bought a power bank that's capable of charging my Surface
@MBraedley MX mice are fantastic. I use MX Masters at home and at work. I have an SP4 type cover, but the connector on my SP3 quit working, which is why I use that little folding keyboard now
I actually prefer it because it takes up less space than the type cover (I just use the touchscreen instead of a touchpad) and it's wireless
@MBraedley By itself, yeah, but I want to see how long the power bank can sustain it
In Ring Fit Adventure, if I choose a level that I don't want to or cannot complete, can I back out to the level select? I know I can exit to the Switch Menu and close the game, but this is time consuming. Is there a way I'm missing? I've tried all of the JoyCon buttons to no avail.
Like, Worth a Buy, ACG, Jim Sterling, Zero Punctuation,... I don't think there's a single reviewer/game critic I follow on youtube that dislikes the game
@Yuuki Honestly, even if that's the case, you say that like that's the only reason it's considered a good game: because it's not trying to nickle and dime you around every corner
from what I understand the general gameplay is also quite enjoyable
and I think it's actually good that this game is both a critical and a commercial success, and I hope it can show EA that well-crafted and respectable singleplayer games do have a place on the market
I played Fallen Order. Finished it last week. It's definitely a fun game. But I'm fairly certain that a similar game just a few years ago wouldn't have been such a critic darling.
@Yuuki True, but it would probably still have gotten good review. Maybe not as good sales numbers because it would have released right in the whole "hard Soulsborne games" wave
I also like the fact that Fallen Order has a fairly strong narrative. No wishy-washiness because they have to support a dark side ending because every Star Wars RPG has to let you choose between Light and Dark.
Because I really agree with the general sentiment that we need to support this game to show to EA that this type of game does currently have a future
after all, if you say "vote with your wallet", that doesn't just mean not buying the games that you want to see less often, but also buying the games you want to see more often
@Nzall Dark Souls does have an easy mode. It's called "use magic".
@Nzall When the mechanics of the game are different from other Soulsborne games, I'd like a more even difficulty curve so I can practice mechanics.
I kill regular mobs in two hits so I don't get much experience with extended duels.
For instance, it wasn't until about halfway through the game until I figured out that you need to hold down the block button after parrying because parrying doesn't interrupt combos.
I killed regular mobs too quickly for them to combo often.
In online werewolv.es, if two players holding a Potion of Acquiescence each simultaneously target item-holding Player X, the potion steals both 'bounce' and Player X gets to keep their item(s).
However if item-holding Player X is attacked the same night by two different killers, Player X will ob...
In Shenmue III, one of the minigames where Ryo Hazuki can earn money is chopping wood for a few of the NPCs. While playing this minigame I've noticed occasionally the words 'Very Good' or 'Excellent' appear on screen, accompanied by a strong reverb added to the sound of the axe striking the wood ...
Had a great interaction with a coworker in customer relations today. He asked me if we could add a new feature to our mobile app because some customer wanted it. He spoke the bane of software developers everywhere: "It's a pretty simple feature, should be easy to implement"
Spent the next ten minutes explaining in chat that, no, it's not as easy as it sounds, we'll need to research and design and it's going to take quite some time. His response to my well-reasoned explanation was an image macro: "So you're telling me there's a chance?"
So I got to post the pirate guy "Well yes, but actually no"
I came across an abusive player in Halo: Reach (PC) that was calling people racist slurs. I've already muted them by opening the scoreboard Tab and selecting their name, but I couldn't find any way to report them.
How do I report abusive players in Halo: The Master Chief Collection on Steam?
I'm playing the Definitive Edition of Divinity: Original Sin II on the Switch. According to the internet, in the elf cave south of Fort Joy, there is a Forgotten Cell here containing an undead knight named Lord Withermoore. It can be found by playing hide-and-seek with Moby, but I must have sel...
@Yuuki sure, rengar is a pretty strong top lane, and counters a bit of what yorick wants to do, but you shouldnt have 3 deaths pre 5 minutes against him
since I own a 2011 laptop, I dont have very good performance, but I still can run for example GTA 5. Is there any possibility that I could play RDR2 on lowest settings (even lower than bottom - using lod) on resolution maybe just 720x1820 resolution.
My specs are:

@Nzall probably subjective i'd think. but then again i think those who consider them spoilers would be thinking "EA had to do one dick thing with Fallen Order otherwise it wouldn't be an EA game"

@MadScientist Fallen Order seems to have this thing about sudden boss fights. There was roughly one or two boss fights in that entire game that I actually anticipated.
Every other one, I just jumped into an area without meditating and had to fight the boss with half of my stims and less than full health.
