I am currently dealing with one of the weirdest bugs I've ever seen. On Mac, using (I think) zsh, some scripts that seem to be taking simple actions end with bizarre errors. For example:

No, that's the exact error message. There are no spaces there. What makes it weird is that there isn't supposed to be an rm in that path.

I don't control the scripts directly, but I'm pretty sure what's happening here is that the script that causes this error is just doing rm <something> and the shell is doing something weird with the PATH.

In the context where this is happening, the directory /Users/kbuilder/.nvm/versions/node/v10.17.0/bin should be in the PATH.

But rm shouldn't resolve to that, especially if it then fails because it doesn't exist. It should resolve to /bin/rm.

And this error doesn't happen consistently. It seems to work for a while and then fail randomly, but it never works long enough for my entire build job to finish

I had to write an algorithm out in python first for one of them but then I rewrote it in rust and it went from taking a minute to do like 1% of it to being done completely in less than a second

@Wipqozn I don't think it has Ironman. Also, it's hard to say if it's buggy vs intention choices. I mean, it's probably a bug, but when you're behind full cover, your guy doesn't lean out to shoot like in xcom. Or if you're on high ground behind partial cover, your guy doesn't like lean up and over it to fire down, so he can't actually see guys on the ground

I hope it's a bug, because that means it will feel better after a patch, but maybe it's a (bad) design choice

I played a couple hours and I think I'm going to wait for a few patches. The theme feels good, and I like the free-aim, but there's a lot of UI frustrations

and I've read (but not verified) yet that when graphics are set to ultra, they're actually on low. Which I hope is true because the graphics look not great

@MBraedley MX mice are fantastic. I use MX Masters at home and at work. I have an SP4 type cover, but the connector on my SP3 quit working, which is why I use that little folding keyboard now

I actually prefer it because it takes up less space than the type cover (I just use the touchscreen instead of a touchpad) and it's wireless

At this point in time, I think Fallen Order gets bonus points for not being a GaS despite being an EA product.

Like, Worth a Buy, ACG, Jim Sterling, Zero Punctuation,... I don't think there's a single reviewer/game critic I follow on youtube that dislikes the game

@Yuuki Honestly, even if that's the case, you say that like that's the only reason it's considered a good game: because it's not trying to nickle and dime you around every corner

I played Fallen Order. Finished it last week. It's definitely a fun game. But I'm fairly certain that a similar game just a few years ago wouldn't have been such a critic darling.

@Yuuki True, but it would probably still have gotten good review. Maybe not as good sales numbers because it would have released right in the whole "hard Soulsborne games" wave

I also like the fact that Fallen Order has a fairly strong narrative. No wishy-washiness because they have to support a dark side ending because every Star Wars RPG has to let you choose between Light and Dark.

I'm probably going to buy it on PC the first time it goes on a decent sale, like around 40 EUR

The difficulty settings are also very nice, it's not just a single Easy-Hard slider.

Because I really agree with the general sentiment that we need to support this game to show to EA that this type of game does currently have a future

after all, if you say "vote with your wallet", that doesn't just mean not buying the games that you want to see less often, but also buying the games you want to see more often

Playing a Soulsborne game with an easy mode actually sounds like a good way to prepare for the series that started it all

For instance, it wasn't until about halfway through the game until I figured out that you need to hold down the block button after parrying because parrying doesn't interrupt combos.

I killed regular mobs too quickly for them to combo often.

I think Rengar is a good counter for Yorick since Yorick's strength is so cyclical. And he needs to last hit with his Q to get minions.

So until he has two or three graves, it's just set up for a jump from bushes on him whenever a minion is low.

@MadScientist Fallen Order seems to have this thing about sudden boss fights. There was roughly one or two boss fights in that entire game that I actually anticipated.

Every other one, I just jumped into an area without meditating and had to fight the boss with half of my stims and less than full health.

Usually missing a Force bar or two.
