7:00 PM
bye for now!!!

I think it's stomach flu, a family friend had it a couple days ago and we were just visiting them

@Yuki I don't care what the rules are. My rule is 's for possesive

> possesive possessive.

@ElfSlice toast. crackers. plain white rice.
bland stuff :)
feel better <3

Toast is a good idea
Thanks @Spugs

7:01 PM
@Yuki ur doin more werk corectin me then iz werth it
@spugsley Coke + honey

@ElfSlice and lots of water, room temp until you know for sure it won't irritate your stomach. Then you can move to cold. And then ginger ale. <3

bye for now guys!

@spugsley BYE FOREVER

@OrigamiRobot Are you not working today? I'm seeing a distinct lack of AUTOCAD.

7:03 PM
@Yuki Just not working in AutoCAD today.
Yet.

He's too busy reading lifehacks

Q: Why do bitizens get blown out of airlock?

UghI wonder if this happens accidentally or because of something. I ask about this because one day I had to change time on my phone (back in time), and then I opened TDS without remembering about it. Everything was very strange, I regret not taking screenshots. All the time meters were sticking out,...

@Sterno New lifehack. How to stop typing in all caps: Instead of doing work with AutoCAD, read more lifehacks.

@Lazers I don't understand this question.
Anybody want to try and clean it up?

What should I eat for supper tonight?

7:06 PM
@OrigamiRobot Food.

user15026
@ElfSlice It's clear to me - he changed the time, things got screwed, he changed the time back, one of his guys got blown out of the airlock, he is curious as to why (and I suspect assuming it has something to do with his changing the time on his device and changing it back)

@OrigamiRobot Unborn avians.

user15026
@OrigamiRobot I am having Kraft Dinner and these frozen chicken/ham/cheese things

@Arperum Input discarded: Not specific enough
@Yuki I do like eggs...

@ElfSlice Human misery.

user15026
7:08 PM
@OrigamiRobot Poached eggs! (They are my latest favourite thing)

user15026
@Sterno not all of us can survive on that ;)

@AshleyNunn Too much work.

@Sterno Isn't that some kind of a drink?

I assume.
I've never had poached eggs.

@OrigamiRobot Poaching eggs is just not hardboiling them all the way.
Essentially. You also remove the shells.

7:09 PM
@Yuki Without the shell or sommat

But that's essentially the concept.
Poached eggs are delicious, especially in combination with some good soup noodles.

So I have to have some tool to contain the eggs. Too much work.

user15026
@OrigamiRobot Pot+water+vinegar+salt - bring to low boil, crack eggs into a bowl, gently drop into the water, wait three minutes, scoop out with a spoon. Basically, follow this.

user15026
@OrigamiRobot do you not have a pot?

@Sterno delicious

7:10 PM
> Three minutes have gone by; grab a slotted spoon and, very gently, extract the egg from the water.
I don't have a slotted spoon.

Q: BF4 - cannot use unlocked weapons?

mrQQI finished BF4 first mission in Gold, and was supposed to receive the SVD-12. However, on next mission, in weapons crate, it's still not available? What am I doing wrong?

user15026
@OrigamiRobot oh, I don't either, I just use whatever scooping thing I currently have clean

> As for the salt, eh, just a big fuggin' pinch of the shit. You're just gonna die someday anyway.

I might as well just hardboil them. It's way easier.
@AshleyNunn I also don't have salt.

I just follow this handy guide

user15026
7:12 PM
@OrigamiRobot ....no salt? o.O

I don't use salt.

@OrigamiRobot Wat? How?

Flavor them with your savory tears

user15026
@BenBrocka I got the creepiest giggling baby ad before this...

Babies may be added as a garnish

7:13 PM
@AshleyNunn Is there a giggling baby ad that isn't creepy as f--k?

Thing I make at home:
Sandwiches
Kraft Dinner
Bagel Bites

user15026
@Yuki you have a valid point my friend

That's pretty much it. No salt needed.

@OrigamiRobot You don't salt the noodles? Heresy!

user15026
@JasonBerkan this.

7:14 PM
@JasonBerkan I just use salted butter.

@OrigamiRobot Not the same, I mean the orange sauce has salt in it as well, but you need salted water for noodles.

That's dumb.
I have never put salt in the water when boiling anything.

user15026
But it makes noodles better.

That's dumb.
Oh, I forgot ramen on that list.

@AshleyNunn Honestly, it only makes noodles better if you suck at managing heat when cooking noodles.

user15026
7:17 PM
@Yuki which, well, I do, because my stove is ancient and has strange ideas about staying one temperature and stuff.....

The real reason why they tell you to add salt to water when making noodles is that it raises the boiling point ever so slightly.

If @IanPugsley hadn't broken my sandwich press, I'd make pizza pockets.

@Yuki Pretty sure that's a myth, that effect would be tiny

@MadScientist Depends on the amount of water and amount of salt.

Q: Why add salt to the water when cooking pasta?

brynWhat is the effect of adding salt to the water when cooking pasta?

7:18 PM
@AshleyNunn You beat me to it.

user15026
@JasonBerkan :D

Wait, I lied. I do have salt for beef jerky.
I should just hire @AshleyNunn to make cupcakes and such for me.

@AshleyNunn Oh god, I just found out that The King's voice actor from Frozen also voiced Mr. Freeze in Arkham City.

Q: How do I run Age of Empires three on ubuntu?

gump1979I've been trying to play this game for awhile now but when it opens it asks for the l3codecx.ax why is this and how do i get around it?

user15026
@OrigamiRobot I'd do it

7:23 PM
None of this is helping me decide what to eat for supper.

@MichaelMior of course it does matter; salt is mandatory! Using a sauce could help but the taste is different and the final result in a trained mouth is just an insipid pasta with a salty sauce. — systempuntoout Sep 12 '12 at 18:20
oops
No one should ever say "a trained mouth" without irony.

user15026
....that sounds so pretentious

This might be the best SE because it has .
Plus, Sterno gets a few mentions!

Q: Stop items from being pushed throguh walls in minecraft?

MrGlassI am working on an automated chicken farm. Things are going quite well and my prototype is working, but I am having a small issue that affect my efficiency. For my kill step, I have pistons open up a stream of water that carries the chicken to a piston smasher area. This are has a ceiling of sti...

Q: What is it that makes bacon so delicious?

SobachatinaI am aware of many of things that bacon has going for it. It is high in fat, high in salt, and smoked. But taking a potato, frying it, covering it in salt, and sprinkling on liquid smoke, does not taste like bacon. (Yes I've tried. I try liquid smoke on everything.) So what is it that yields th...

7:32 PM
@Sterno Wait, liquid smoke is a thing?

Q: How do I Mash Potatoes?

GnomeSliceWhenever I try to make mashed potatoes, I end up with an excruciatingly sore forehead and a huge mess. And that stuff takes FOREVER to get out of your hair. What am I doing wrong?

@Yuki It just gives things a smokey taste.

@OrigamiRobot It also sounds not good for your health.

I use it in my beef jerky, but I'm not sure it makes any difference.

@ElfSlice Wat.

7:33 PM
It is literally liquid smoke.

@MechanicalLoon What wat.

@OrigamiRobot This is, by definition, not possible.

@ElfSlice
I log in and things get weird
well done

=[

@FEichinger What they do is pass the smoke through a condenser and then dissolve it in a liquid.

7:35 PM
@FEichinger nonsense

> Liquid smoke is a substance produced from smoke passed through a tube from a combustion chamber filled with select wood chips to a condenser. In the condenser, the smoke cools and forms a liquid, aided by the addition of water. Liquid smoke is used for both food preservation and flavoring.
It is literally smoke turned into a liquid.

smoke is just tiny particles

Apparently I've been wasting my time cooking bacon like a chump.

A: Is it safe to eat smoked bacon without grilling?

rumtschoIn such a case, for any food item, ask yourself a question: In a 19th century household, would it have been kept in the cellar, or eaten immediately? For bacon, it is common knowledge (or at least I think everybody knows it) that it was kept in a cellar for long time. So this is definitely not ...

suspend the tiny particles in a liquid, and you have liquid smoke!

@OrigamiRobot no, it is liquidised smoke, not a gas that is a liquid

7:35 PM
@ElfSlice Deleted?

@Sterno Yeah, long time ago.

Oh, you were trolling Seasoned Advice.

@SaintWacko Nope. Nope nope nope. Nope. Not at all.

For obvious resaons.
That's one of my two ever troll posts across all of SE

> What’s in smoke from a wildfire?
Smoke is made up small particles, gases and
water vapor. Water vapor makes up the majority of
smoke. The remainder includes carbon monoxide,
carbon dioxide, nitrogen oxide, irritant volatile
organic compounds, air toxics and very small
particles.

7:37 PM
the other one ^
Although it used to be called 'how do you beat up a bike'

@SaintWacko You do not, however, get "liquid smoke". Smoke is, by definition, not liquid.

@FEichinger Bah. I drink liquid ice all the time.

@FEichinger Well, what would you call condensed smoke?

Water is liquid ice.

@OrigamiRobot Water is water.

7:38 PM
Stupid @JasonBerkan

@SaintWacko "Condensed smoke"?

@OrigamiRobot :)

@Yuki So we should call condensed water vapour "condensed water vapour"?

@SaintWacko Well, that's what you're calling it right now.
I always find "what should we call X" questions funny, mostly because you just called it something.

@Yuki The key word is should

Q: How do I fix Serana's yellow eye problem?

AxiomAfter I had Serana cure herself of vampirism, she came back as a very useful character: I can heal her, she's invincible and she still uses her health drain powers. However, her eyes totally creep me out: she has the green irises but the "whites" are glowing yellow at me. It's like she has nucl...

@SaintWacko vapor*

@MechanicalLoon Not if you're in Canada.

@ElfSlice @SaintWacko isn't in Canada.

MAYBE HE IS

Also I wouldn't start spelling things wrong just because I visit a country where they all spell it wrong.

7:44 PM
@MechanicalLoon It's not wrong here, though.
But it's not like you're expected to spell it the same way

@MechanicalLoon I thought that was how it worked? You visit england and get the extra-u-disease?

If you visit Germany I bet they don't expect you to start speaking German.

@ElfSlice if you visit france you can bet your ass they do

@KevinvanderVelden And you pronounce zebra with a short e

@KevinvanderVelden Yeah, France is famous for being ridiculously tourist-unfriendly.

7:45 PM
Even been sitting there at your computer, and you smell something funky, and you wonder if it's you?

@OrigamiRobot Only the french people do that.

@KevinvanderVelden They expect you to speak German when you visit France? Quelle surprise!

I don't do that.
Although Z is pronounced Zed

@OrigamiRobot only in dutch, where that is the correct way to pronounce it :)

And France is not tourist-unfriendly. You can easily speak English in all the tourist locations.

7:48 PM
@JasonBerkan yes, but what do you expect from the french? They're insane I tell you!
@JasonBerkan as long as you don't ever try to say a word in french, then all hell breaks lose =p

Holy crap. 11 messages? My word.
I'm so popular.

@Wipqozn no, you're handsome not popular

@StackExchange I deserved that.

@KevinvanderVelden We muddled through, even with our gutteral Quebecois French.

Over 1 million copies of Starbound sold! Thank you everyone from everyone at Chucklefish

7:50 PM
@Wipqozn @spugsley got tired of waiting.

@OrigamiRobot She's so inpatient.

Well you are stringing everyone along.

@OrigamiRobot Spoil it for him!

FALSE ALARM: The funky odor was coming from the garbage can, and not from me.
CRISIS AVERTED

@Sterno Maybe you should take your garbage out

7:54 PM
@ElfSlice And take food from the mouths of the janitorial staff and their union? Heresy!

@Sterno ಠ_ಠ

You might think I'm joking, but seriously, they could lodge a complaint and the company could get fined for me taking my own garbage out

What?
I thought you were implying that the janitors eat garbage

Unions are so <!--not--> awesome.

@ElfSlice No, but I see how you could have interpreted it that way.

I hate this person.
@OrigamiRobot It's working pretty well too.

I wonder where the Magnited States of America is
