lol, it's incredible how much of an effect Windows has on the design/UX of everything.

Windows 8 came out with the flat UI and everything went flat. Like, seriously.

I find that the faux-3D stuff looks almost bad now :P

I just realized that UI (and performance) have been my main driving factors for switching to a newer version of windows...

I don't find them disgusting, they're somewhat nostalgic for me. XP & Vista I actually quite like the look of sorta kinda.

I think my biggest problem with 7's theme was how bright it is. I prefer dark themes on my stuff - not exactly sure why. It's not bad otherwise.

so it was more like PlaceRemoveBlocks, rather than MineCraft

Fire tick was changed to be based on difficulty, so it's pretty aggressive on hard difficulty

Q: Why does the Steam Market keep refunding my crates?

I sell Mann Co. Crates on the Steam Market, putting up 20-30 at once every now and then (I have probably 120+ on the go right now). Every now and then, Steam takes my oldest bunch of crates, removes them from the market, and re-drops them in my backpack. Why?

mining and crafting is a huge part of the game, but you do it to craft armor and kill bosses for loot

minecraft is more about mining and crafting and building creative stuff

in terraria, you're limited to 2d, so building creatively is also limited a bit :P

I do prefer Terraria by far, because it has goals you want to achieve, unlike minecraft

That is true

once you have achieved everything though, there's not a lot to do

Minecraft is more about building things and I think is a more creative game, Terraria is more about killing and looting and stuff and collecting things

it will take couple of weeks at least to get the best gear though :P

mining and exploring is a big part of Terraria, but the main difference is the combat

in minecraft, combat is boring and almost non existant

it's basically a chore

in Terraria it's awesome

at first you only have boring swords

but later you get different types of weapons

Yeah, it is rather boring in Minecraft. Minecraft is best for building and mini games

there's a whole bunch of different melee type weapons, ranged and magic weapons

at end game, magic is insanely awesome

but melee is still satisfying

the first time you fight a boss, it's usually at least a little challenging

the later bosses are quite challenging with the gear you can have before you kill them

building a hellevator with 2 people is so much better than by yourself though

(hellevator is a vertical tunnel that goes from surface to the hell level of map)
