Q: Can all minecraft biomes be present in any newly generated xbox 360 map?

Molten IceSince Minecraft on the Xbox 360 is not unlimited like the PC counterpart, will every level generated have every biome available? If not, are there any types of biomes that will guaranteed be available no matter what the seed?

Q: What should I do to catch up on lore when I hit 90?

Neil BI played WoW thorough patch 5.1 and took a break, but I'm back now and looking to catch up. Once my Horde Hunter hits 90, what is the best path to catch up on all the lore for patches 5.2-5.3 (I'm thinking which scenarios/dungeons/quest lines)..? Thanks!

Q: Ingress: How can one place multiple 7LVL resonators on a portal?

VairisCkecked for a portal and found this scene: Here I found a phrase: A Player can have ONE L7 resonator on one Portal at one time. By 'one time' is meant one time the portal is owned by that fraction or one something else? Or it is a hack/bug/exploit?

@GraceNote OB 64 isn't bad by any stretch.
The entire Ogre Battle series in general is fantastic.

@fbueckert If only I liked SRPGs
So many good games, but I just can't stand them...

@5pike Well, that's your problem, no? :P

1:22 PM
@fbueckert It is, it really is.

@fbueckert no shit

@OrigamiRobot isn't that out today?
I mean, I get we'd rather not reopen them, but closing it again when it's now valid seems silly.
Pretty much any time we close a question that could 4 seconds later be asked by someone else and stay open, we're doing it wrong. This is the piracy thing all over again.

@Sterno Except it wasn't asked four seconds later.
It was asked before the game was released.
Timing matters.

@fbueckert Neither of those two things you said make any kind of sense.

1:31 PM
It was closed the 2nd time today. Which is AFTeR release. I could go ask that question right now.

@StrixVaria Question was asked prior to the game being out.

Just because nothing was doesn't mean nothing could have been.

@fbueckert Unrelated to the problem at hand.

@FEichinger Completely relevant to the problem.

@fbueckert Yes but right now (yes, due to the mistake of 5 users, but still), it was an open, valid question.
It doesn't matter how the question got into a valid state. Only that the state is valid.

1:32 PM
@StrixVaria So because some users make a mistake, we shouldn't rectify it?

@fbueckert No. Because it was reopened (incorrectly so, but still). Closing it again now is ridiculous.

It was a mistake to be reopened.
It got closed again.
Mistake resolved.

@fbueckert Yes.
@fbueckert Shouldn't have been.
@fbueckert Which still makes it ridiculous and pointless.

I am going to have to agree with @FEinchinger here.

I get not wanting to reopen for fear of "question camping", though I personally find the worry about camping silly. But once it actually was reopened, closing it as off topic is invalid. It was not offtopic anymore.

1:32 PM
@GraceNote -n

@FEichinger By the power vested in me, I place an N in your name.
4

@GraceNote Why does everyone seem to add an N into that name? :P

Stop getting so anal about our stupid made up rules on meta that valid questions get closed.
3

You ALL are arguing that it was a mistake to be re-opened. Yes, no?

That it was a mistake to reopen does not make it a reason to close it again.
4

1:33 PM
@fbueckert We all agree that it shouldn't have been reopened. We don't agree on closing it again just to kneejerk the incorrect reopen.

@GraceNote I disagree.

@fbueckert It shouldn't have been opened, but then it also shouldn't have been re-closed. Two wrongs don't make a right.

Sony set to go big with virtual reality on PlayStation 4 • News • PlayStation 4 • http://Eurogamer.net http://www.eurogamer.net/articles/2013-09-03-sony-set-to-go-big-with-virtual-reality-on-playstation-4

We could go back and forth on this over and over.

@fbueckert there is no "this violates our meta post resolution" close reason.

1:34 PM
I say it's resolving a mistake.

It shouldn't have been asked in the first place, and it shouldn't have been reopened for having been asked back then. But at this stage, what we have at present is a live question about something that is, now, released, yet?

Shiiiiit that sounds really good but I hoped they would go oculus rift

@fbueckert We don't "resolve a mistake". We re-evaluate the question.
And right now, it's perfectly fine.

@FEichinger "inch" is about the closest explanation I can give. You could always ask @Manishearth about how everyone calls him Manis.

Awesome that we get some drama today though. I think I've got a new meta in me!

1:35 PM
@FEichinger You might. I resolve mistakes.

@GraceNote Hmm ... It's a /x/, though.

Personally, I think we should determine what constitutes 'camping' on a question by question basis, like we do with Piracy

@fbueckert Yeh, and that is, frankly, nonsense.

@FEichinger We will cordially agree to disagree.

@FEichinger I don't even know what that means.

1:36 PM
@fbueckert reminds me of me before I realized that a few less-than-exemplary questions aren't a big deal at all.

@StrixVaria If it's not such a big deal, why are you arguing for it?

@fbueckert Way to read that backwards.

So is D3 out now?

@Sterno I agree that closing again is kind of silly, but that's the point of the 2nd half of my meta answer. Rewarding rule breakers while punishing rule followers.

1:38 PM
@FEichinger Egads not one of these things.
Arda had one of those kind of things too but I forgot the name past also have "velar" and "fricative" in its name.
The reason we block "camping" is less because of the person camping and more because at the time of asking, the question is worthless and pointless. It shouldn't have been asked at all, we have no obligation to hold a question until release time, ergo offamylawn with you.

@OrigamiRobot I know we disagree on this, but I really hate trying to drive site policy by worrying about people playing the rep game.

@GraceNote Given that my surname is German I prefer to write it in IPA when people ask/confuse the pronunciation. Some of thouse sounds just don't have an English expression.

@Sterno Well then this drama really has nowhere else to go, does it?

@FEichinger When you corrected me back about the N, I actually did assume it was German. Fancy that.

@OrigamiRobot you're the guy with the awesome upvote/downvote image that says to ignore username! Except you don't seem to want to apply that for close votes as well.

1:40 PM
@Sterno It has nothing to do with username.

@Sterno Well, close votes aren't super downvotes, so the image is entirely unrelated.

At the stage wherein the question isn't removed by the time the game is released, and it ends up reopened, present state conditions is that we have a question that is no longer worthless and pointless.

If the same user posted the question again, that'd be fine.

@OrigamiRobot pit clearly does if you're worried about rewarding a particular user.

@OrigamiRobot This would be even dumber than someone else reposting it.

1:41 PM
@GraceNote This.
Seriously, what the heck, guys? We are kneejerking about the date?

I ask again, Is D3 out now?

@GraceNote It's all about everyone having an equal chance to ask/answer questions.

Guys this is important:
user image
4

@RonanForman Apparently so.

We literally have multiple mechanisms in place to try and stop people who try to ask the same question multiple times.

1:41 PM
@OrigamiRobot I think you just blew my mind.

34 secs ago, by OrigamiRobot
@GraceNote It's all about everyone having an equal chance to ask/answer questions.

@fbueckert Then shouldn't we reopen the question now before arguing about this.

@StrixVaria what and why?

A: Should we reopen question being closed for 'unreleased game' after the game is released

OrigamiRobotSpeculation about unreleased games is off-topic as per the FAQ. Debating what constitutes speculation in regard to official developer/publisher statement can be left to another meta post. For the sake of this answer, let's assume the questions it applies to are properly closed. Should we reope...

I mean no one's going to ask that question, they know it already exists.

1:42 PM
@RonanForman yes, it is.

I need to go to work so I can type on a computer instead of this ipad. Hopefully this is still going in 10 min!

@RonanForman The whole point is that it was asked prior to being released, and then reopened.

@StrixVaria Ring ring ring ring ring ring, bananaphone~ ♪

@5pike I just saw "Guys this is important". And, indeed, that was important.

Which is what the whole discussion has been about.

1:42 PM
Ironically, it shouldn't have been re-closed and we shouldn't re-re-open it now.

Doo doo dedoodedoo~

@GraceNote BOOPEE DOOPEE DOOP

So it shouldn't be reopened, and we should wait for someone else to ask the same question?

Of course the ill issue here is that now I have bananaphone stuck in my head.

@RonanForman Yes, even if it's the same user.

1:44 PM
@RonanForman Technically, it should have been deleted before it ever reached this point, and this wouldn't even be a problem now.

@StrixVaria Is that baloney?

@fbueckert But, alas, it didn't.

even when the answer would be the same, what's the benefit in deleting it?

@OrigamiRobot But I just went to ask the question, and the closed question came up. I'm not going to ask it now, it's a duplicate.
2

@OrigamiRobot The version of your policy that makes sense to me is that we don't just automatically reopen questions closed because they were asked too early, and if a new ones come in, we don't just close it as a dupe of the older one, then vote to reopen the older one. That's just silly and a lot of work and is the scenario in which the question becomes campable anyway. But if 5 people happen to reopen a question once it becomes valid because apparently they actually care about the answer
2

1:45 PM
Link to the original question?

@GraceNote It's [faɪxɪŋeə], btw.

that's when it seems really silly to me to tell them "no, sorry, ask a difference one. This one here is BAD somehow"

@GraceNote Gah. It's been four days. Silly 20K users, what are you doing!?

If we care that much about it, make a concerted effort to nail it with delete votes early

@Sterno The question should have been deleted to begin with.

Q: How is loot shared on D3 console co-op?

Roger MI have read that Blizzard have built the console version from the ground up and that they have made a few changes to the loot mechanic. Is there any difference to how loot is shared in the console version in co-op?

1:46 PM
@OrigamiRobot That is irrelevant.
It was reopened. After that point its past does not matter anymore.

@OrigamiRobot Sure. But it wasn't. End result is a now valid, open question was closed as off-topic
2

@FEichinger Not to what @Sterno is saying.

Ok, enough with the passive aggressive starring, people.
5

We re-evaluate it from scratch and only close it if it is still erroneous. It is not, because it is now a valid question.

ELEPHANTS SHOWER WITH THEIR NOSES!

My Banana Phone is already at the bottom of the stars list :(

That is a lot of stars!

@Sterno Then fuss at the people who did it, not me.

Laptop's about to die in class. This is awkward...

@OrigamiRobot Release was today, yes?

I mean, here's the problem. It's what it always comes down to. We can say whatever the hell we want on meta, but it comes down to open/close votes in the end. 5 people decided to reopen a question that is now ialid. it was reclosed not because the question was invalid, but because people don't like why it was reopened.
@OrigamiRobot I'm fussing at everyone. You were just the only person who was arguing with me. @fbueckert bowed out.
And now I'm off to work. :)

1:49 PM
@GraceNote According to Wikipedia, yes.

@Sterno I'm arguing that it should have never been re-opened. Past that, I don't care.

Walks in, looks at stars list, walks out again
7

@Sterno I voted to re-close because it shouldn't have been reopened. All I'm doing is resolving a mistake.

@fbueckert And again, that's nonsense.

@OrigamiRobot For what it's worth, I mostly agree with that.

1:50 PM
@FEichinger And again, we'll agree to disagree.

I voted to reopen because it seemed like the sensible thing to do, if a question is closed for being "before it's time", when it's time comes, I logically thought "well it should be reopened".

@fbueckert - "What I consider a mistake" FTFY

@OrigamiRobot I saw this, and was like "Wait, why did I star this?" Then I saw the history... ಠ_ಠ

I'll offer an alternate perspective.

@fbueckert I disagree too, and we can agree to disagree, but at least on my side of things, "resolving a mistake" is not a close reason option.

1:51 PM
I posted the question here to fuss at people for reopening. You'll notice I did not rally for its reclosure.

NOW I'M REALLY GOING TO WORK, JERKS
3
@OrigamiRobot In that case, we're buds again. brofist

I am also not complaining about its reclosure because it it the state the question should have remained in.

We're getting way too bent out of shape for a single question.
I don't care anymore. Do what you want.

I imagine that all the folks who voted to reopen, could've just asked the question on their own. At least, those who voted today, post-release.

If the close reason becomes invalid, then clicking the reopen button makes sense.

1:51 PM
So I am safe from both sides of this argument

@fbueckert The drama is delicious, though

Which is apparently everyone, as it were.

@TZHX We don't close questions only to hold on to them until they become valid.

But it was "on hold".
Not "closed".

Which is just a semantic word change.

1:53 PM
@TZHX Yes, but in this case, it should have been deleted.

In a couple of days, it would've been changed to closed.

They basically had two avenues to approach getting this question open to the community - either they ask it on their own (which they had all in their power to do) or they reopen the existing live question. They decided to reopen the existing question.

If it's just a semantic word change, then why does it change from "on hold" -> "closed"?

@TZHX To be friendlier to new users.

@fbueckert hilarious

1:55 PM
Point is that in both routes we get, the end result is a live, open version of a question that people have. Reopening is less than ideal, but so is both having the question asked early in the first place, and it reaching this point still alive. The whole situation is less than ideal.

@fbueckert - Oh the irony of hearing someone say that after the last couple of days on meta

@Robotnik It's an SE thing sitewide.

@TZHX It's "on hold" for the first week, then "closed" thereafter. The change is purely semantic, but it is done to make it less confusing to new users, since closures can and should be temporary if the question is improved

@GraceNote This could have all been avoided if the question had been properly deleted, but alas.

@OrigamiRobot It's given us our daily drama!

1:56 PM
Reopening was dumb, but when we choose to close it, we're both correcting an erroneous reopening and closing a legitimate question.

That's gotta count for something!

@fbueckert - I know, I was referring to the comment war on this: meta.gaming.stackexchange.com/questions/7610/…

Reversing an erroneous reopening is good to do, but I do not think that it trumps keeping a valid and legitimate question open.

@Robotnik And I'll help any new user who displays the capacity to learn.

"Reopening was dumb", please explain how it was "dumb"? It may not follow the made-up barely publicised rules on meta. But it makes logical sense.

1:57 PM

Q: Why was this question re-closed?

FEichinger129350 ("diablo-3How is loot shared on D3 console co-op?") was put on hold today, with the following close reasons given: "Questions about unreleased or illegal content are off topic on Arqade. We only support questions about games available to the general public through legitimate means."...

@Robotnik You can reply directly to the message by clicking the little arrow on the right end of the message.

@TZHX It makes logical sense but it's a situation that shouldn't be around in the first place. That's what makes it dumb. The situation shouldn't have been enabled in the first place.

A new user who refuses to actually learn how the system works, and instead decides to throw a temper tantrum is not someone who wants to learn.

@OrigamiRobot I only click buttons that have lazors shooting from them

Woooo, 100% completion in Cookie Clicker, I can resume my life now

1:59 PM
@TZHX It's sort of a big-picture thing that it is dumb, not necessarily as bad in the scenario we're currently observing because we already broke out of the big picture scenarios and are firmly in "exceptions" territory.

@Robotnik It makes it easier to follow the conversation and it's what all the cool kids are doing these days.

@fredley Till the next update

@5pike shhhhhhhhhhhhh!

@5pike Which will add dungeons, hopefully.
