I can see the usefulness of asking about just one item. If we threw every bit of crafting that could be done in Skyrim into a single question, that would be far too much information to parse properly.

Let's take for example a case I can talk about - Elona. There are various craft skills that use materials you can gather. Asking "What are all the Carpentry craft recipes that use Yelling Madmen as an ingredient", compared to just looking for "Yelling Madmen" on a question "What are all the Carpentry craft recipes?", is short-sighted and less useful to us.

@fbueckert for smaller systems, a single comprehensive post would suffice, for larger systems, multiple comprehensive posts about particular parts of that system are needed

the same way we do for tags

for games that are focused we have a single tag, for games that result in lots of questions focused on different areas get multiple tags

like Diablo 3 and Minecraft

If we split it out into manageable chunks, like splitting it down professions, I have no issue with it. So long as we're consistent across the game.

For Skyrim, the aforementioned professional split would make sense. In Elona you'd split by skill. For Minecraft, "Color mixes" is itself a subclass and that's going to be a reasonable scope if "Color mixes including brown" is an acceptable scope.

but a lot of the inconsistencies with policy are from old posts that predate the policies

those are the ones people always use as their counter arguments

post it as a question
