@fredley once he edits your player .dat file log in and then log out then log back in again.. that editor makes your save files HUGE, a logout will resave it with the data it should have in it again.

@GraceNote wondering if you recall anything about making better equip on star ocean at all. atm I'm just on default "found" stuff. I know the key is synthing but a little unsure where to even start.
For the most part, it's a matter of just synthing attributes from whatever you got, into the singular item you plan to stuff it all in. There's a route to maximizing it but it's been a while since I even last looked at that screen.
@RonanForman Oh, Its a server monitor that you can put events into. It has a nice backup management program.. But it was set up by my service provider, I have not walked through the steps to get it running
So, I'm considering picking up an awesome deal from GameStop. They're selling God of War:Ascension along with God of War Saga for just $60. I've played the PS2/PS3 trilogy already, but it's been awhile.
What would be the best order for my play-through this time around - release order, or in-universe chronological order?
(And, is that too subjective a question for the main site?)
If they're different to choose the two, then for the most part the choice is mostly on your own preference. Release order emphasizes "Not going backwards in control/complexity so that basically each new installment is a step forwards", while chronological order emphasizes "Learning the story in order".
Now, some games have a thing where the prequels are founded in part or in major part off of the audience having already experienced the original games, in which case playing in chronological order would actually make you miss things or experience it weirdly. All the same, I doubt God of War has that kind of issue.
@Iszi I'll have to consider that. I wanted to replay it in order because of the order of my original playthrough and I wouldn't want to go back to the first after playing the second.

I can deal with gameplay and mechanics differences and quirks - usually those are shaken off in the first couple hours. I'm really looking for story experience. Does the series tell the story proper enough in chronological order, or are there some assumptions made by the writers along the way that makes it better to play them in release order?
I went there hoping to find a used 3DS. They didn't have one. No biggy. I figured since I was there, I'd get EO4 from them. They had it. They warned me I should-preorder though. Then I asked if they had Fire Emblem. They laughed, said no, and said I should have pre-ordered. I went across the street to Best Buy and bought one of the 20 copies they had instead. :P
They also tried to get me to sign up for some frequent customer card thing. I said I barely ever shop there, no thanks. He kept asking. I kept saying no. He finally said, "You must hate saving money.", at which point I snapped and said "I like saving money. That's why I usually don't shop here."
@Iszi I'm guessing the ascension story pulls and winks at plot elements from the previous games. This guess is coming from.....literally every "post original" prequel movie/tv epsiode, or game I've ever seen
Sure, being able to open the game up again whenever you felt like playing again, that would've been pretty nice. Especially like something like Bomberman 64 (Which the two of us beat in its entirety in two weekends, that was a glorious time), but sometimes, it's nice enough to get the game once and have that blast.

Would it be best to get more marines, or to get a turret fast?
(Im thinking about the best possible outcome for moving into mid-game)
@Iszi As someone who has played all 5, IMO, you don't have to worry about missing anything if you play them in release order. Frankly, I'd recommend that over chronological story order given the way the series iterates its gameplay. The story doesn't necessitate that you play them in release order and IIRC, you won't miss things in the prequels if you play them in chronological story order. So it's mostly up to choice.

When leaving a game, by majority of votes, or leaving the champion selection, is there some sort of penalization, like less ip or an "autoreport" (in champion selection, besides the wait time), I know that voting for surrender in a ranked penalizes you but for how much???
@tiddy Oh man screw that. I got to that boss fight on the giant horses thing and quit after I would get 5 full minutes into the fight before dying, making no apparent progress
Hard difficulty is great. Making it "hard" by making 3 minute boss fights take 20 minutes (without dying) is just bleh

@Brian No. That's been suggested a thousand times, and it's always rejected because "accepted" means that it is the answer that most helped the person who asked the question, and the community can't change that
I'd say a very large % of accepted answers are in fact the best answers or at least least are useful. There's a small % that are really, really bad but it's no reason to throw out the feature wholesale
