@OrigamiRobot Anyone can go at any point and just make it their first review, and stick by that without tracking updates. Up or down, uniform or not, it's still skewed in that sense.

@agent86 I just think if the objective is to get the best pro-ITG criteria, simply counting upvotes will get you that.

Anecdotally, the number of people who do revisit these things to see updates to the situation are far fewer than those who will just drop by, make a vote, and be on their merry way.

@OrigamiRobot we can take a look at the votes at the end of this and see if there's some amount of trend. downvoting is an integral part of the system though, so I don't want to toss it out prematurely simply because we think people are going to be jerks.

I'm just paranoid and I can see methods for unethical anti-ITG people to slant this in their favor.

@NickT, with respect to existing ITGs, I'd say that's probably another topic altogether. There's probably several paths forward

I think cleaning the bad ones out (like badp/LPMF have been doing) is a good first step

we can evaluate ITGs that have gone unanswered and decide if we think they're still worth having around

@agent86 Year: I played it in 1986. .. .What about saying Mid-80s.. What about saying Early 90s.. Is PC a good enough platform or do you need OS as well? The problem with ITG posts is that they are by definition vague. Adding more categories for things to be filled in isnt going to help as long as there are no definitions for what an acceptable answer is for those categories.

And Sorry I mean to type that earlier but I had to run to a meeting I had forgotten about :D

@NickT That helps a lot, but voting is still a complete mess, and Matthew Read's suggestion of deleting wrong answers is a hell of a lot of mod work.

I say when they click on identify-this-game to read about the template, instead we just redirect them to MobyGames.

My major gripe on ITG (even with agent's criteria) is that those questions will require orders of magnitude more moderation (by ♦ and 3k+/10k+) than anything else.

@BenBrocka Pitch is the most fun in my opinion (also the most useful in a general sense), while Rick is my favorite.

I don't know if this should be a posted question... Because it might not have an answer: Does anyone know how to deter team stacking on Battlefield 3? I am a higher ranked individual with admin access to our servers and a controversial topic keeps on coming back to us.

We have multiple popular servers and we want to keep them populated as we pay for them. But How can we prevent team stacking? Normally our clan will dominate the server ( as we are all on TeamSpeak, coordinate our tactics, and dominate the pugs)... But this hurts our reputation...

We have a scrambling script on our server to mix up players but it does not break up squads ( so we are all in a few squads). Anyone have any input? or should this be posted on gaming.stackexchange ?

Our leader has said that team stacking is fine on different other servers. We can go and clear them out if we happen to dominate them. etc. But we seem to come back to team stacking in the end. I will admit to this.

We have close reasons for a reason, and "We don't know the answer" isn't one of them.
