I was sitting here wondering about the point of Twitter. I've had an account for two years and never posted anything. But I just figured it out. Rebecca Black links.

user15026
@Sterno Oh no.

If it's not for that, someone explain to me what it is for.

@Sterno quickly getting updates about things you care about

@Sterno nice. That actually is what I use it for, though. That, and I got in an argument with Tara Strong a couple of days ago

8:12 PM
@murgatroid99 I just googled who that was. And I still don't know who that is.

Well yes, if you follow "bad" accounts you'll get "bad" tweets. If you follow twitter.com/ID_AA_Carmack your twitter experience will be different than if you follow twitter.com/BarbieStyle

Oh, MLP.

@Sterno In context, the most popular person in the My Little Pony fandom

Well, Fork Parker is pretty cool.

@Sterno also a bit insane

user15026
8:15 PM
@murgatroid99 O.o Really?

Twitter is dumb. That is all.

I think twitter would be cooler if it did more with location

@AshleyNunn yeah. There's this girl that she has been promoting for people to donate for cancer treatment. I pointed out on reddit that they said that they were using "alternative medicine" and I was worried that people were giving money to something that wouldn't be effective. And then I tweeted it at her

@AshleyNunn Haven't started; been finishing up Kylie Chan's latest book. SUCH a good series.

user15026
@murgatroid99 Fair enough. :)

user15026
8:21 PM
@fbueckert Not one I am familiar with.

@AshleyNunn This is the one with martial arts and Chinese folklore.

user15026
@fbueckert Right, okay, its on my list to check out ;)

Almost home time!
Then it's time to put @Gnome back in the line of fire and see how he fares.

my productivity on thursdays start to slide downward into friday
alright edits approved! gonna +2 my way to 2,000!

@Brian You stop gaining rep for edits once you hit 2K.

8:26 PM
@fbueckert ugh lame!

Because at that point, it stops reviewing your edits as suggestions, and just implements them.

oh makes sense

How can I get to the review queue without a current review pending?
Oh I found it.

A: Are there any ways to get Realm Gold?

BrianFor those still viewing this thread: It is sort-of possible to earn free realm gold. I say "sort-of" because this method usually requires you to sign up for something (like a trial for netflix) in order to be rewarded. The steps are as follows: First, Decide whether you play on Kongregate or re...

Ew.

@InvaderSkoodge Yeah, I saw that.
It's an answer, though.

@fbueckert It's kind of spammy.

Q: How do I use the Shop Mart shopping cart?

Trent HawkinsOn a couple of my attempts to survive, I've run across the Shop Mart shopping cart, and I just cant figure out how to use it. The Wikia entry for this item claims it is a vehicle that provides a 16x16 storage area "when used" from the vehicle screen. Although I am most likely missing something qu...

Q: How do you gain titles like Grisly Pointman?

James JiaoI have a level 25 Commando who has the title Pointman. I was playing in a multiplayer game yesterday and noticed a level 24 Commando who had the title Grisly Pointman. I don't remember ever having this title at level 24. In fact, I think I have been a Pointman ever since I started. I tried chan...

It's advertising for these free trial sites.

Hm, not really

I'm not flagging it or anything, but I wanted to bring it up because it's sketchy.

I agree it's not awesome
I mean, you could shark your way to TF2 finance until you acquire enough in-game currency to swap for paypal funds via trading
and then you could use that money to get "free" gold
I'm not sure how working for likely less than US minimum wages counts as "free" :) — badp 8 secs ago
commented and downvoted

Someone pity upvoted it.
Atrocious.
Either that or they upvoted solely because of bold text and bulleted lists.

8:42 PM
@InvaderSkoodge No, that was me. I think it's a valid answer. =/

user15026
@InvaderSkoodge shrugs It's a legit anwer.

I downvoted because of the misleading definition of "free"
Time is not free

@Ullallulloo It is an answer.
That's the best I can say for it.

user15026
@badp Well, then none of the games you get for free are free, then

user15026
That is incredibly flawed logic.

8:45 PM
Ca minimum wage soon to be 10$

user15026
Trial Pay isn't all stuff you have to pay for, most of it takes you like maybe ten seconds.

sooo alot of things can be got for less than that

@AshleyNunn You don't have to jump through hoops and like things on facebook and fill in eleventy pages of surveys to play free games (I have never used Trial Pay)

user15026
@badp You don't have to do that for TrialPay either

@AshleyNunn So what do you get "free money" for?

user15026
8:46 PM
Most often, it's just like "download and open this other app", which is often free, and often a game I am interested in anyway

@AshleyNunn Depends on the things. Some you do, some you don't.

user15026
@Ullallulloo True. it's like the Swagbucks offers.

@AshleyNunn Yeah, that definitely takes 10 seconds and won't try to install toolbars, adware or other things in the process

@AshleyNunn That is powered by TrialPay. :P

user15026
@badp I do it on my Android all the time - all of it is run through legit stuff.

user15026
8:47 PM
@Ullallulloo I know :) It is also something I use often

@badp I did one by someone not too long ago that was just to play some free browser game to level 10 or something.

@AshleyNunn I'm not saying it isn't legit, I'm saying that trading time for money is not a novel concept. It's called "work" :P

nothing in the world is ever free

TANSTAAFL

@badp It doesn't take a credit card though like the question asked.

user15026
8:48 PM
@badp But it is technically free, you aren't spending money. Downvoting it on that premise is flawed logic.

user15026
@SaintWacko This, this, this.

@AshleyNunn So when SaintWacko says it it's "this" and when I say it it's "flawed logic"? :P

@badp Haha, she likes me better! :P

only cause shes stalking you on steam

user15026
@badp No, you are saying that it is not good because it requires payment in terms of time, and thus a bad or incorrect answer. I agree with him, there is no such thing as a free lunch, and this is something that TrialPay is aware of and is why their system works and is used in so many places

8:49 PM
@Ullallulloo I will concede this. Then the answer is using Steam Wallet.

user15026
@Brian .....? What?

No CC required, you can buy credit with cash at GameStop and whatnot.

And now, I must away to do some actual work

nothing kidding @AshleyNunn from 2? days ago :)

user15026
@Brian Oh, because I asked him what his Steam ID is, therefore stalking. Okay.

user15026
8:51 PM
@SaintWacko I would say enjoy, but I am not sure if that is an appropriate sentiment :P

user2334
The thing that offends me about the answer is that he used horrendous HTML to format it and somehow managed to completely break the markdown parser

@badp If you don't count anything as being free though, you get other problems.

user15026
@Ullallulloo This!

@AshleyNunn I believe that was a joke.

user15026
@Ullallulloo I know.

8:53 PM
It was a bad joke MY BAD sorry @AshleyNunn

@Ullallulloo I'm not saying nothing is free. I'm saying there's no such thing as free money

user15026
@Brian shrugs honestly not bothered by it, no worries :)

user15026
Just was momentarily confusified

I keep getting downvotes on my meetup posts. I wonder why.

FAE
@fbueckert Seriously? O_o What.

8:59 PM
@FAE Yeah, I dunno why.
It doesn't really matter, I'm just curious.

FAE
@fbueckert Why would people do that? Do they just hate fun?

Grr fun, I hate that! Downvote downvote

@fbueckert You have two on the first, none on the second, and one on the third. :P

Cool. You can take back comment upvotes now.

Q: Should I install Doom 3 BFG Edition on my hard drive on my XBOX?

user28015One can install this game to his harddrive. Are there any benefits in doing so?

9:05 PM
Yesss, 'bout time I found this:
@Smscatfacts, catbox
giving ya daily facts about us cats at smscatfacts.com
121 tweets, 7.3k followers, following 0 users

user2334
There, I fixed it

sm scat facts? wtf
oh how does sms cat facts relate to twitter

user2334
@Brian Twitter is designed around SMS

user2334
although they like to forget that

@MarkTrapp thats not true, they just took the short message concept

user2334
9:07 PM
The 140 character limit is there because SMS messages can only be 160 characters, and they wanted 20 characters for metadata like user name

user2334
@Brian Yes it is true.

It never had sms integration...

user2334
haha, yes it did. Pretty sure it still does

FAE
@Brian you almost owed me a keyboard

user2334

user15026
9:08 PM
@Brian Yes it does.

user2334
> Twitter's origins lie in a "daylong brainstorming session" held by board members of the podcasting company Odeo. Dorsey, then an undergraduate student at New York University, introduced the idea of an individual using an SMS service to communicate with a small group.

user2334
> The original project code name for the service was twttr, an idea that Williams later ascribed to Noah Glass, inspired by Flickr and the five-character length of American SMS short codes. The developers initially considered "10958" as a short code, but later changed it to "40404" for "ease of use and memorability."

The concept was around it, but sms could never feasibly be used for twitter
phone networks arent built like that :P

user2334
I don't know why you keep holding onto that, but it's totally wrong

user15026
9:11 PM
I know people who use it this way still.

user2334
only way to use Twitter on a feature/dumb phone

user2334
well, unless you have one of those carrier-supplied crap apps

alright well assumed they had a more cost effective design my bad
sending texts isnt cheap

user2334
Back in two-thousand dickety seven, everyone thought text messaging was the future

user15026
@Brian If you have unlimited texting, and I knew a lot of people who did then, it wasn't really that bad

user2334
9:13 PM
@Brian there was a thing in 2008 or 2009 when they retired short codes for everywhere except US (maybe NA) because of the expense (to Twitter), but they still allow text messaging via regular numbers internationally

@Brian It is for the phone companies.

user15026
@MarkTrapp I think you can still use them here

Tweeting from sms would be fine cause thats your bill i'm talking about twitter pushing updates to people via sms

user2334
@AshleyNunn Huh, interesting. Looks like they worked something out in the intervening years

user15026
@MarkTrapp Yeah, looks like :)

user15026
9:16 PM
I knew it had to be possible on Bell somehow, because of people I know who used it until the last few months or so when they finally upgraded.

user15026
I still get the odd person who has "via sms" after their tweets.

I don't know I'm still pretty sure he just took the text limit from sms because he liked the idea of short succinct text
but i guess thats just what he said in the interview after the fact cause the original idea was so unscalable

user15026
@Brian Proof?

user15026
I like facts. :)

k lemme find the npr interview

9:19 PM
Hello! I'm looking for game suggestions

user15026
@ZetaTwo What sort of thing are you looking for? :)

Some kind of multiplayer game which involves alliances, pacts, betrayal, backstabbing, etc.

user2334
@Brian It's definitely the SMS restriction. Biz Stone on the Colbert Report at 1:25 says it explicitly. Just before, he explains Twitter's SMS roots

user15026
@ZetaTwo I don't think I will be much help there - I don't really play multiplayer, but I am sure someone else might have an idea or two.

Ok. I know it's a bit vague.

user15026
9:21 PM
@ZetaTwo Sorry I can't personally be of more help. :(

Hey, you can't know everything. :D

user15026
@ZetaTwo This is true. :P I can try, though :D

user2334
@ZetaTwo check out any of the Civilization games. Also FreeCiv and Endless Space

@ZetaTwo YES I CAN WATCH ME!

@MarkTrapp This whole idea started after playing a lot of civ

user15026
9:23 PM
@OrigamiRobot You're a robot, that's different

user2334
@ZetaTwo The overarching genre that encapsulates that type of play is 4X, of which Civ is a member

user15026
@MarkTrapp Oh, huh, now i finally know what that means.

Yeah, but 4X games are usually so huge

user2334
If you want a smaller style game, there's Settlers of Catan, which has plenty of pacts, betrayal, backstabbing, and loss of friends

Would anyone be interested in my MechWarrior Online Blog?

9:27 PM
@AshleyNunn Yeah, not for this work. My normal work is fun, the programming, but this special stuff just sucks

user2334
@ZetaTwo Another option is Sins of a Solar Empire, which is less vast in scope and simpler than most 4X games, with some RTS elements

@Pyrodante Maybe

user15026
@SaintWacko :( Boo for sucky work stuff. :(

Yeah, we've tried that as well. It's a nice game

@MarkTrapp I think I'm going to be playing Settlers of Catan for the first time tonight

9:27 PM
@MarkTrapp is Endless Space good?

Well if you are interested, my MechWarrior Blog: dbefored.blogspot.com let me know what you think please

A: Are there any ways to get Realm Gold?

badpIn the United States you can buy Steam Wallet Codes from GameStop using cold, hard cash ($20 or $50). This also works for Kongregate Kreds. If you live elsewhere, you can also transfer money from your bank account to your Paypal account, no credit card required. This requires some paperwork and ...

ಠ_ಠ

Ok you're right when twitter first started it was based on sms, tho when it got popular, they had moved past that model in the US

@Pyrodante Will do.

<--- stands corrected

9:29 PM
@Ullallulloo thanks!

user2334
@ZetaTwo I haven't been able to play it much to make a definitive statement, but it really depends on who you talk to anyway. The AI is balls hard at times, but the combat system is trivial. Perhaps the best term to describe it is "flawed", but I'd say it's worth a look if you're into the 4X genre

Ok. Because one issue we had with Civ V was the combat
it is totally broken

user2334
Have you tried Civ 4? People who hate Civ 5's combat generally like it a lot better

@Ullallulloo so?

@MarkTrapp Heh, I was about to suggest that

9:30 PM
Does it work well in multiplayer in civ 4?

@ZetaTwo Same as in singleplayer

You were the one who noted the thing about not having to use credit cards.

user2334
@ZetaTwo Endless Space's combat is really simplistic: you set up a couple of cards, and watch it play out. Not a lot of opportunity for combat strategy

@badp Yeah, nevermind. I misread the question this time.

So, civ 4 multiplayer is standard turn based, not like civ 5 hybrid style then?

9:32 PM
@ZetaTwo I haven't played civ 5, but in civ 4, it's just like the other player is one of the AIs. How does it work in civ 5?

user2334
@ZetaTwo Pretty sure it's got both modes

user2334
I thought Civ 5 did too, but I haven't played any MP in Civ 5

@MarkTrapp Oh, yeah, you're right. You can set simultaneous turns

In civ 5, everyone play their turn simoultaneously
which is a nice thing I think
except that combat is broken by it

@ZetaTwo how does that work

9:33 PM
@ZetaTwo Oh, like in Frozen Synapse?

with 2 people interacting with the same thing
like I move away, and you attack and kill... does that make my guy move and die?

That's weird. So you could go to attack someone, and their turn would execute simultaneously, and they could no longer be there?

oh nm thats what you just said :P

@Pyrodante that's when it breaks. Basically the one who clicks first makes the move first

herm

9:34 PM
@ZetaTwo That's not very well done

no

I just like it because I am Pincess Celestia spreading the faith of the Invisible Pink Unicorn :P

So, something which is real time, fast turns or something like that would be nice

user2334
@ZetaTwo I don't know how else you could handle it without reverting back to full turn-based strategy

because it's boring to wait a lot while the other players make their moves

user2334
9:36 PM
@ZetaTwo Oh, you could always set time limits for turns, n'est-ce pas?

@Ronan You still have two class choices you can make for your guy in my squad.

@SaintWacko No. Whoever clicks first wins.
It's terrible.

Q: Is there any way to cancel my mind control on an enemy alien?

ladenedgeI have the final alien in a mission mind controlled and the mission isn't completing. Is there any way to cancel the MC rather than waiting around for it to blast one of my team members?

@MarkTrapp Frozen Synapse has both players plan out their turns, then play them out at the same time. So if both sides decide to attack, the result could be different if one or the other decides to defend.

Do you know of any other, maybe smaller games, which contains elements of trust/deception, etc?

9:38 PM
Essentially, it could be fixed by resolving combat at the end.

user2334
Ah, that makes sense

Because, while civ and sins of a solar empire are great games, they are huge and matches takes a whole day

@ZetaTwo Have you tried Frozen Synapse?
It's a lot of fun

It's cool, yeah

@SaintWacko I don't think that's the kind of thing he's talking about.

user2334
9:39 PM
@ZetaTwo Mostly just ports of board games. Settlers of Catan is a biggie. Monopoly, Clue, etc.

@ZetaTwo Do you mean a game where you can make/break alliances?
@MarkTrapp This is what I was going to say.

@InvaderSkoodge Yeah, it's not on the same scale, but it's good for short games

Risk is a good one.

user2334
Oh yeah, definitely Risk. There are some really good ports for it too

Diplomacy is a strategic board game created by Allan B. Calhamer in 1954 and released commercially in 1959. Its main distinctions from most board wargames are its negotiation phases (players spend much of their time forming and betraying alliances with other players and forming beneficial strategies) and the absence of dice or other game elements that produce random effects. Set in Europe just before the beginning of World War I, Diplomacy is played by two to seven players, each controlling the armed forces of a major European Power (or, with few players, multiple powers). Each player aim...
I've never played this, but I hear it's really good for that kind of stuff.

9:40 PM
Oh, Diplomacy. I've heard about it, never played. Could be something

I've also heard don't play Diplomacy with friends, because then they won't be friends any more.
Speaking of which, that's why I haven't played Risk in a long time.

I don't really like Risk though

user2334
@ZetaTwo Another option are card games, like Magic the Gathering Duels of the Planeswalkers

@MarkTrapp those are plain 1v1 games, no?

user2334
They have larger multiplayer modes. Two-headed giant, Planeschase, Archenemy

9:44 PM
I've played some (real, not simulated) multiplayer M:tG games that came down to a lot of conspiring.
We always played with the same group of 5 in a free-for-all format.
The local metagame evolved over time to have decks that seemed innocuous until they won the game in a single turn.
If you looked like a threat, you would be ganged up on.
That was fun times.

I remember building some mtg deck which revolved around setting of some kind of "mana generation" and then spawning like 30 1/1 tokens
haven't played in like 5 years though

@ZetaTwo Yeah I stopped almost 8 years ago.

@fbuekert I choose fishing and puppetry.

@Fluttershy Should I feel out of touch for not knowing who the one on the left is?
Also, wow

9:54 PM
@SaintWacko It's Amanda Todd. The Canadian girl who killed herself after being bullied.

@Fluttershy Oh, okay

That is so terrible

user15026
@fluttershy I get that it is a jab at the girl with the Nirvana shirt, but I dislike the sentiment at the top, about everything that is wrong with the world.

now if it was honey bo bo and Kurt, I would agree

9:58 PM
I think it's perfectly ok to not know who Kurt Kobain is

@ZetaTwo While wearing a Nirvana t-shirt?

user15026
Pretty much.

I don't know who the girl on the left is.
Is that a good thing?

user15026
I can't say I would know the faces of a bunch of people I listen to but that doesn't mean I sucked as a fan.

@InvaderSkoodge well, that's when it gets questionable
but yeah, I think you can be a fan of a band without knowing what the members look like
also, I would say Nirvana is more than a band
they are also some kind of cultural symbol

10:01 PM
@AshleyNunn Yeah, knowing who she is, I don't agree with that part of it either

@Fluttershy I wouldn't have immediately recognized either.
Nirvana sucks.

@SaintWacko You are currently chopping up some Wargot Power Armor. With a Katana.

@fbueckert Muahahaha

user15026
@saintwacko yeah it makes me annoyed.

user15026
@saintwacko you sound like a badass with that Katana

10:02 PM
@AshleyNunn Hmmm... Are you on your phone?

user15026
I am, but laptop is within easy distance if I need to swap.

@AshleyNunn I was here on my phone yesterday, so I recognize the symptoms :P

...And you just killed it. Well done.

user15026
Haha yeah, I hate that I can't link replies from the phone.

user15026
Among other things.

10:04 PM
@Ullallulloo That's awesome. I can't wait to see them
@AshleyNunn Yeah, you don't realize how annoying it is to type out everyone's names until you have to do it on a phone, without autocomplete

Oh, my @badp sock puppet is finished.

@sai It pings people with only three characters.

@AshleyNunn You're currently in training, so you didn't tag along for this mission. @Fluttershy chucked a rocket at some Wargots, though. Knocked one out.

user15026
@saintwacko yeah - some people's names SwiftKey has kept as auto complete options but not many. And some people's names are hard to spell.

@Ullallulloo Oh yeah! I completely forgot about that!

user15026
10:06 PM
@ronan pics?

Wow, that makes it so much easier!

user15026
@fbueckert Oooh training. Also, yay @fluttershy with the rocket.

user15026
@ronan best sock puppet ever.

@Ullallulloo You're my machine gunner, so you're laying down fire like nobody's business.

10:08 PM
HI CHAT.

@fbueckert :D
@LessPop_MoreFizz HI.

@fbueckert Can I take the skills I asked for?

@LessPop_MoreFizz Hello!

@RonanForman I forget what you asked for.

user15026
@LessPopMoreFizz HEYA

10:09 PM
17 mins ago, by Ronan Forman
@fbuekert I choose fishing and puppetry.

@RonanForman Oh. Nope, can't have those.

What can I pick?

@RonanForman Underwater basket weaving and llama taming

You've already got Commando, so you get two more.

10:11 PM
Medic and psyonic.

@SaintWacko I never got this joke. Basket weaving would be easier underwater.

user15026
@saintwacko hey llama taming might come in handy then you could have a llama army

@OrigamiRobot Yes, it would. I think it's just supposed to be very pointless
It was the first thing I thought of
llama taming was the second

Why? Basket weaving is an art.

I don't know why
@OrigamiRobot But underwater?

FAE
10:12 PM
@SaintWacko The material would be all nice and flexible!

1 min ago, by OrigamiRobot
@SaintWacko I never got this joke. Basket weaving would be easier underwater.
@FAE Exactly.

@FAE @OrigamiRobot Alright, alright, fine.
Oh
I can't still edit
Bah.

My grandpa could weave some badass baskets.

user2334
> Since 1980, Reed College in Portland, Oregon has offered an underwater basket weaving class during Paideia, its festival of learning that offers informal, non-credit courses.

user2334
Ah Portland, never stop being you

10:13 PM
@RonanForman Psionic and Cyborg are off-limits. ><

I wish I had learned more. I made a few, but they were all with him telling me what to do step by step.

Oh, geez, time for me to go
back later

Ooh, stalker.

@RonanForman Medic and Stalker?

@fbueckert Fine, stalker and technician.

10:16 PM
@RonanForman Okie dokie!

@MarkTrapp I... what?

user2334
WE'RE HERE WE'RE QUIRKY GET USED TO IT

@MarkTrapp No. I refuse.

10:32 PM
Tried convincing the IT guy at work 3 T1 lines is childs play these days but he keeps going on about dedicated speeds sigh

yea its still like 300-400

user2334
Business-class cable or FIOS is way better; you get all the SLAs and such at a much cheaper price

I keep trying to tell him that, but no luck
Switched to trying to convince the vp of eng to get him to convince the IT guy

user2334

Anto Mostly Flesh and Steel Finish the game without purchasing any supernatural powers or enhancements, besides Blink I've just finished the game without purchasing anything besides Blink and didn't get the achievement. Maybe because I "bought" the Blink's upgrade (Blink II) ? Or is it anythi...

Q: Do dolphins have homosexual "blowhole" sex?

Ilya MelamedIn his comedy act, Ricky Gervais shows examples of homosexuality in nature, all of them from the book "Biological Exuberance, animal homosexuality and natural diversity" by Bruce Bagemihl. One of the examples is homosexuality among dolphins, having anal sex or "blowhole sex" (from minute 8:40 in ...

@MarkTrapp Stack Exchange sure is a superior Q&A site compared to old, catchall sites like Yahoo Answers. The quality is so much higher without all those stupid, frivolous questions.

Q: Would one thinking that they are cool imply that they are?

Bossman759If "I think, therefore I am" is correct wouldn't thinking you are "cool" imply that you are because you think therefore your are? And since that is the case, you would have to be "cool", right? For Example David: John just thinks he's cool.

Q: One sentence to describe everything

Magnus WolffeltHow would you put together a reasonably short sentence, in order to describe everything? By everything, I mean that the sentence would be broad enough to cover any possible subject by recursive substitution (with a longer text) of any of its components. Think of it as a kind of "root" sentence ...

Q: Haterism and the ethical quandry

thegrayhogofsaturninedroolAll my questions and answers are laboriously thought through and indicate the highest level of care, yet they are targeted by a systematic regime of haterism. So, I would ask for an ethical review of the site. Since they have bombarded me with enough negative points to force me to ask here, and n...

I believe Kant was a haterist

Q: What makes something 'better'?

anonymous anonymousHow is Shakespeare's work superior to Twilight? How is String Theory superior to some random dude's "theory of everything"? How is a Van Gogh better than what is termed 'kitsch'. An answer that I do not want is something like "color choice, form, texture" or "abstraction, truth, falsifiability"...

What is the Good hasn't been solved in over 3000 years: I know, let's ask SE!

@fbueckert Ranger good?

@Ullallulloo Depends on what you're going for.
Currently, you've got a big ass machine gun, so being ambidextrous doesn't help you at all.

11:38 PM
@fbueckert ah
I'm not sure what would be good. :x

You're quite with it, too.
Leader might be good; you'd give bonuses to everyone around you, and the third level would up your health a ton.

Q: why use slow weapons?

LeibnizFor gemming/enchanting weapons there is a clear dps advantage to faster weapons: dps = dmgPerHit / delay dps_gemmed = (dmgPerHit + X) / delay dps_gemmed = dps + X / delay where the term X / delay is larger for fast weapons. Similar arguments can be made for stackable on-hit debuff such as -armor ...

Q: Torchlight 2: Is there a way to auto-attack the nearest enemy until there are no more enemies in the vicinity?

oscilatingcretinThe first Torchlight had an annoying combat issue that required constant clicking/holding on the enemy you wanted to target. After the enemy was dead, you had to click/hold on a new target. Torchlight 2 seems to have improved on this a bit. Click/hold on an enemy to attack and kill it just the...

Either that, or Technician; that would supplement your machine gun abilities.

@fbueckert That sounds cool then.
@fbueckert That sounds good too. :X

@Ullallulloo You're a Cyborg, so you'll get a few more choices as implants become available. :P
I just need to know which you choose, so I can level up your dude in that direction. :P
@LessPop_MoreFizz What. The. Crap.

@fbueckert Technician seems to overlap with Gunman, so I guess Leader.

@Ullallulloo Okie dokie!
Finally, somebody that doesn't choose Technician!

@fbueckert Welcome to Stack Exchange, where no question is too banal or stupid!
