12:03 PM
@Razetime Because it was the first language I made. There's a reason it isn't on TIO and basically every other one of my languages is

soo dude, are we just supposed to work with the existing interpreter for the bounties

@Razetime Each command has 9 possible meanings. It runs every single possible meaning a program could have, then compares the output to the provided output sample and chooses the meaning based on that

what?

@Razetime Yeah, basically.

i thought it was just simple stack based
no winder it's in the 100 category then

12:06 PM
Nope. += has 81 different things it can mean, and it figures that out based on the I/O you provide :P
It's very slow

what in the world
beginner language implementer caird was mad ambitious

That was made Last year
I also think it uses a 5 bit code page

oh god
it just keeps getting worse

The trick to language making is to assume no one will ever use your language :P

@Dudecoinheringaahing and then make bounties on them to torture people

12:11 PM
Yeah, the problem with that trick is that I like it when people use my languages :P
WTF autocorrect, why are you like this

12:33 PM
TIB 2.0 is coming soon, with several features you've never imagined for an online interpreter

> TIB 2.0
what is TIB
try in ..
browser?

Yes

Cool

Because it literally runs code within your browser, no server-side job involved

ngn
@Bubbler how does that work? who's making it?
will it be able to run all languages supported by tio?

12:41 PM
@ngn I'm making it. The core is written in Rust (compiled to wasm), and every language is supposed to be also written in Rust
which means it is impractical to run something like C, Python, or JS
(though there's RustPython, which also means there's a small chance that I can actually support Python and langs written in Python)

or reimplement python in rust, how hard can it be really :P
last time I looked rustpython couldn't do everything but maybe it's better now

Anyway my current aim is to make it work, and then add a few well-known esolangs and my own lang(s)

nice

and a lesser known one I always hoped to have an impl for

ngn
@Bubbler c can be compiled to wasm too
and anything that goes through llvm really

12:53 PM
I just chose Rust just because I became a fan of it (and its browser interop support is insanely good)

now i have made the parser (after rewriting the whole project)

Actually the entire frontend is written in Rust

['def', 'grid', ['reshape', 'x,x', ['range', ['**', 'x', 2]]]]

@PyGamer0 Oh nice

1:02 PM
@Dudecoinheringaahing should we just put it on Thursday then
also CMM, should we get a chatbot to post the routine messages for bmg (so not copying over the challenges, but like posting the announcement for voting and for bmg starting or whatever)

@Bubbler Can you make ut work with CPython if tou can get it to compile to wasm?

@hyper-neutrino For something that only happens every two weeks? Probably not.

@hyper-neutrino idts

Shhh :P

1:13 PM
Imagine this: You find a dead animal. What do you do?

depends.
what animal? where have I found it? did I cause its death? would selling it be profitable because capitalism?
see, you need to specify the situation a little more ;p

yeah, am i hungry or what?

that's something to consider too

@hyper-neutrino Yeah, that should work

okay (reply to all three pings)

1:18 PM
@PyGamer0 and further, what time of day is it? where was I heading when I found it? does it belong to someone? am I going to be liable for damages? do I need to hire a lawyer to defend me in civil court? was PETA watching when it died? is this actually a prank video and I'll be going on the youtubes?
henceforth, I conclude that your question needs to be VTC'd as unclear

1:35 PM
@vyxal ok it is night time
you were heading to your school
it belongs to nature
no you are not liable for damages
yes you need to hire a lawyer

@vyxal Because I want to contribute to your programming moral decline even more, flag idea for Vyxal: find the smallest positive integer such that the program is true (either starting at 1 or at the TOS, creator's choice)

no peta was not stalking you
no it is not a prank video
the animal in question is a buffalo
yes selling it is a dumb idea
you did not cause its death
also you are beside a forest know for its tigers
wow thats a lot
now answer @vyxal

Why tf am I going to uni at night when I can just do it at home?

yeah, going to school is just getting out of bed at sitting at my desk

Still, if I'm not technically liable for anything, I'd move it out of the way for others and keep on going to uni at night despite the fact that I don't actually go to uni at night because I don't have night classes and that everything is online anyway because we are currently in the middle of a pandemic

1:42 PM
if he didn't cause the animal's death, is the lawyer thing unrelated to the animal thing?

you'd just casually take an entire buffalo and just move it? lol
how strong are you

@hyper-neutrino s/move/somehow push it over off to the side

ngn
@PyGamer0 you didn't specify if vyxal is hungry
or horny

@ngn ok he is not hungry

@ngn ...

1:44 PM
@ngn ಠ_ಠ
That's a sentence I didn't need to read

@vyxal you are going to rob the school :p (and get their amd ryzen 9 processors)

@PyGamer0 But what about the lawyer? That detail seems important.

@PyGamer0 bold of you to assume we have those

ngn
@vyxal sorry :)

@ngn Pretty sure humans (or programming languages) don't have horns ;)

1:58 PM
so meta that they span multiple chatrooms.

2:17 PM
CMC: Append a space and :P to the end of the input 90% of the time.
^ Name of the challenge: Simulate @Dudecoinheringaahing 's messages

lmao
@vyxal You haven't answered the question

38 mins ago, by vyxal
Still, if I'm not technically liable for anything, I'd move it out of the way for others and keep on going to uni at night despite the fact that I don't actually go to uni at night because I don't have night classes and that everything is online anyway because we are currently in the middle of a pandemic

Ah

@PyGamer0 Vyxal RMṡ, 7 bytes: Try it Online!

51AC8, 5 bytes: 1+1+1 the button started working‽
please run the code and tell if the button stops after running

2:26 PM
wdym by "the button stops after running"
i still need to click "stop" manually for it to output

No, it's still doing the thing
ninja'd

@hyper-neutrino earlier you had to press the button twice

also why does that even work isn't 51AC8 a stack-based language?
@PyGamer0 i still do

bruh
try it again

nope, still need to

2:28 PM
for me it suddenly started working
@hyper-neutrino you will never know

@PyGamer0 ooh, I like that CMC button. we should implement something like that in the Vyxal interpreter

Risky is such a counterintuitive language...1+1 is 2, and 1+1+1 is 1 :p

i copied from it oof
@AaronMiller vyxal has that

not really
it has copy as CGCC post and copy as a "Try it Online!" link

The vyxal one just does the link, it doesn't do the markdown and stuff
dangit, ninja'd again

2:30 PM
@PyGamer0 Jelly, 10 bytes ;9XỊ¤¡“ :P

vyxapedia/jelly-tutorial, on the other hand, have that, so the CMC link produces this:
Vyxal, 2 bytes: kH (Try It Online!)
(the reason I don't link the code itself is because sometimes that looks weird especially with jelly's underdots

@hyper-neutrino oh
@hyper-neutrino it works as i lookahead for any incoming vehicles so an accident Doesnt happen

CMC: You remember that JavaScript challenge where you had to string a bunch of keywords together, and the scoring was with the most unique keywords? That, but for Java.
I have 20 currently (spoilers)

CMonsterC: Do something.

Brownie points if you use yield
@PyGamer0 I just typed this message. What do I get?

2:45 PM
@PyGamer0 printf "Redwolf Programs is the best CGCC user" > /etc/motd

@user nothing you have to write a program
@RedwolfPrograms you get nothing specify the language
:p

Bash + printf

@PyGamer0 Fine, Scala: `` (empty program)

@RedwolfPrograms Redwolf Programs is a weird way to spell Dude coinheringaahing :P

ok

2:46 PM
@RedwolfPrograms Since I am the only CGCC user, I am the best CGCC user

@user not interesting you get nothing

bruh

@PyGamer0 doEverything, 15 bytes: doEverything();

@user Are you sure about that?

Clearly those are all sockpuppets

2:48 PM
Okay, but there's a lot fewer lowercase users, and they all have 0 rep, so I'm better than them

Well not 0 rep, 0 monthly rep :p

Yes, I have more monthly rep, so I am better for the month :P

@AaronMiller you get a point

I agree that user is the best user!

@RedwolfPrograms you also get a point

2:49 PM
@ruse Why thank you, ruse

wait ruse looks the same as user

I was about to say that ruse backwards is user, then I realized I'm an idiot

alt maybe

therefore i conclude that ruse is the alt of user

@RedwolfPrograms lol I was thinking the same

2:50 PM
@user No problem, user. I love all of your answers and I worship you everyday

wait what
:hmm:

@PyGamer0 :D

@PyGamer0 lol was that not clear already?

@RedwolfPrograms lol same

It's literally an anagram, and a ruse is a trick

2:52 PM
I wouldn't know what an anagram is

Anagram sockpuppets unite!

wow many people are there in this chat room

@PyGamer0 That's the ruse they want you to fall for - user is a sockpuppet of ruse

@Dudecoinheringaahing oh

@GoldFarmerSprow My sock's name is better than yours :P

2:53 PM
My sock's name is quite good. Redwolf Programs even sounds like a real person!

Well, user makes it very clear to people that my sock is a real user

my sock is so convincing no one's even figured it out yet

Your sock sounds like an animal and not a person

ok so therefox i conclude that @user is the alt of @ruse and Life is Life (text in bold is my little brother's quote)

@rak1507 Lemme guess, you're Adám! :P

2:54 PM
foiled :P

I'm half tempted to log in as redwolf10105 too and my mesa-socks can fight :p

Sock battle! Who's in?

@RedwolfPrograms didnt you lost the password in a forest?

I'm technically a sock of redwolf10105, since that was my original account :p

Always knew it! Imma flag you now :P

2:56 PM
i am gonna reveal myself : i am an alt of someone in this chat room

wasif?
I am a person?

@user no he is not online

Frowny Frog? AMDG?

no

Who's your sock then?

2:57 PM
ask them
@user left to you to figure out

pxeger?
You've got a bit of an unusual activity graph, which is quite similar to pxeger's

I doubt it

@PyGamer0 New Posts?

Which timezone are you in, if you don't mind my asking?

It seems to me that they're just making that up :p

3:01 PM
tjjfvi? m90? totallyhuman?

@user +5½
of gmt

@Dudecoinheringaahing You're thinking of me. I'm a sock of Vyxal Bot.

But Vyxal Bot is a sock of hyper's, so clearly you're also a sock of hyper :P

@AaronMiller You know what happens to Vyxal Bot around here, run while you still can :p

@RedwolfPrograms But I'm a sock's sock, not a bot :p

3:04 PM
I'm now imagining someone wearing two layers of socks instead of socks and then shoes :P

what if
i am everyones alt
@user and another shoe on top of that

@PyGamer0 No, the socks go over the shoes like a normal person, obviously.

@AaronMiller Are you Superman? :P

@user No, that's my sock

So you wear superman over your shoes?

3:12 PM
@RedwolfPrograms Exactly, now you're getting it :p

Wait no, superman wears you over his shoes and you wear superman within your second layer of socks
Wait, I wonder if you can reply to a message that hasn't been posted yet, without editing, if you know the message ID beforehand

:thonk:

Not going to try though, it's painful enough to reply to your own message

@RedwolfPrograms No, that won't work

@AaronMiller Why not?

3:14 PM
SE turns it into a reply if it's a message already posted in this room. Otherwise, it's just a message that begins with : and a number

oh
sadge

CMC: Given a letter (that isn't j or k), output the smallest non-negative integer that has that letter in the spelling of that integer in English: reddit.com/r/technicallythetruth/comments/oxlysj/…

probably a mathematica builtin for it :P

@Dudecoinheringaahing What should we return for b?

1000000000 = 10^9

3:31 PM
@RedwolfPrograms This does not put good images in my head

@Dudecoinheringaahing That's a milliard ;-)

Isn't that a duck? :P

no, you're thinking of mallard. milliard is a type of tabletop game also known as pool

no, you're thinking of billiards. milliard is a type of seeded grass

1⁄1000 of a plough.

3:50 PM
Are you aware how many catgirls you just killed? — Euphoric Feb 21 '14 at 9:07

@Dudecoinheringaahing Canvas, 37 bytes (damn haven't used canvas in a while)

@dzaima Is that one of your languages?

@user yeah
(as the name implies, it's for ascii art mostly. Which this is not but ¯\_(ツ)_/¯)

It's compression is pretty powerful as well

@Dudecoinheringaahing Canvas's compression is pretty basic (also doesn't have english compression unilke SOGL). It's decent for tiny strings with lots of repeating chars, but is worse than generic compression things for longer things

3:59 PM
@Dudecoinheringaahing It's "Its" :P

Its "It's"

It's It's? Or its its?

Its "Its" is its "it's"

Oooh, 05AB1E has dropped heavily in the ELO rankings

4:04 PM
F

@Dudecoinheringaahing oh wow, my languages make up two of the top 4
(given that most answers in them are in challenges I thought they'd do good at, it's kind of understandable :P)

4:17 PM
I am anticipating some interesting answers to the latest Community VP Questions thread

4:29 PM
@Dudecoinheringaahing Perhaps because no one uses it much anymore?
@vyxal For the ELO thing, would it be possible for you to group Python/Java/etc. versions together?

4:51 PM
@Dudecoinheringaahing Zsh has gone down by 1 :-(
oh but actually it went up since March 2021

@Dudecoinheringaahing it does this every other month
in september it will suddenly come back to #1
either that or Kevin Cruijssen's activity is really hurting the ranking

My ELO-like program should be finished in a week or two, I'll probably update it weekly (since that's the best SEDE can do)

Please don't edit that post every week with new rankings

I won't, don't worry :p

5:05 PM
I'll probably update it every few months with a more general overview, and have a link to the updated and in-depth results on GH

... are y'all intending to flood Philippe's question with all CG answers? :P

...maybe :P

Well, y'all certainly play the squeaky wheel well. :D

Tbf, we've only got 2 cgcc answers there (never mind that that's 66% of them :P)

I see you've acquired a title.

5:08 PM
+1 for waffles

@Catija The Dude abides :P

That was my first thought.

@Catija No one's posted a challenge on our main for hours, we need something to keep us occupied :P

Gotta keep those little dopamine hits coming. :P

If I can't get the little green +10 here, I'll find somewhere else to do it :P

5:23 PM
ok where is it
I must get my dopamine hit as well

Looks like someone's gone and downvoted all the answers, fun :/
Although, my MSE rep is now a multiple of 10, so can't complain :P

Ooh, I can see vote counts on meta now!
Ironic that my post about seeing vote counts is what got me there :p

Imagine not using the userscript :P

Anyway, time to do more work on the ELO script. I'm thinking about having it "learn" the names of common languages, so it can identify things like "Help, Wardoq!" without parsing that as a language named "Help" followed by a comma and space
Are there any other language names y'all can think of that have punctuation like , or - in their names?

5:32 PM
What part is the ??? for?

:P
wait, Help, WarDoq! isn't even on TIO

@RedwolfPrograms √ å ı ¥ ® Ï Ø ¿

@RedwolfPrograms But, Is It Art?

5:38 PM
Oh, good one. I think ignoring , when it's followed by a letter could be a possible solution
I'm putting a considerable amount of work into making sure almost all answers are parsed correctly, or ignored if there's no reasonable way to parse them (which could accidentally result in a wildly wrong byte count that unfairly hurts/helps a less common language's rankings)

That's definitely a tricky one
Not sure what the proper way to format a header containing the language name ,,, would even be :p

Look for the link
# [,,,](link), 5 bytes is the standard IIRC

@RedwolfPrograms ():;+-#?!
@RedwolfPrograms !@$%^&*()+

@RedwolfPrograms Example

5:44 PM
@Dudecoinheringaahing That's a feature I was considering, yeah. Unfortunately it'd mess up my current parsing set-up to include additional information like tag boundaries, but I can probably find an awful hack to support it.
Are there any synonyms for <a>? Those caused issues with things like <strike> and <del> for strikethrough handling
Okay doesn't look like there are

Oh wow, I got a downvote literally within 3 seconds of posting on MSE
How does that even happen lol

Maybe it looked spammy and got auto flagged by something? Or someone just waited for new posts to appear to downvote ones they dislike :/

Every single answer has a down vote. Sus.

33 mins ago, by Dude coinheringaahing
Looks like someone's gone and downvoted all the answers, fun :/

I'm more surprised about the speed than the disliking. I expect all my posts on MSE to be downvoted, but that was just insanely fast
@Dudecoinheringaahing Ah, might be a troll then

5:59 PM
Someone's definitely "spawn-camping" :P

Or someone who dislikes these sorts of community input questions

@Adám I'm afraid you've caught lyxalitis
