@LuisMendo You could test it for me. — Leaky Nun 59 mins ago
^^ @LeakyNun I'm assuming that was not your intention, but this comment comes off as a little rude

@LuisMendo sorry :p

On QPixel, questions can be single handedly closed and reopened by users with 250 rep.

@LeakyNun No problem. Maybe it's just a cultural thing. Where are you from, if I may ask?

i get a blank screen when i go to QPixel

10:12 AM
@LuisMendo s/^^/^/

@LuisMendo I'm from Hong Kong, so English is not my first language.

@LeakyNun Ok :-) I'll keep that in mind. Sometimes it's hard to infer mood from text written in a language that is not your first one
@MᴀʀsUʟᴛᴏʀ Sorry, what do all those symbols mean? :-)

@LuisMendo thanks for your understanding. what's yours?
@LuisMendo s/xxx/yyy/ means replace xxx by yyy
sed (stream editor) is a Unix utility that parses and transforms text, using a simple, compact programming language. sed was developed from 1973 to 1974 by Lee E. McMahon of Bell Labs, and is available today for most operating systems. sed was based on the scripting features of the interactive editor ed ("editor", 1971) and the earlier qed ("quick editor", 1965–66). sed was one of the earliest tools to support regular expressions, and remains in use for text processing, most notably with the substitution command. Other options for doing "stream editing" include AWK and Perl. == History == First...

@LeakyNun Mine is Spanish. I consider myself pretty fluent in English, but definitely not my first language either

@LuisMendo It sure as hell is ^^

10:15 AM
@LuisMendo alright, I'll keep that in mind and talk to you in spanish.

@Katenkyo Haha. No way
@LeakyNun Huh? Do you know Spanish?

@LuisMendo espanol de mexico o espanol de espana?

TIL spanish has dialects

Wow! Impressive. España. Not sure if languages other than English are allowed here, other than occasionally

@MᴀʀsUʟᴛᴏʀ just as every language ever.

10:16 AM
@MᴀʀsUʟᴛᴏʀ A lot! :-)

But
English doesn't really have any dialects

UK and US

@LuisMendo digo a unas personas en frances tambien, entonces pienso que no hay problema.
@MᴀʀsUʟᴛᴏʀ there's much more than UK vs US.

@TùxCräftîñg Those are just different pronunciations

there are some different words

10:17 AM
@LeakyNun Entonces hablas al menos cuatro idiomas. ¡Impresionante!

This is an overview list of dialects of the English language. Dialects are linguistic varieties which may differ in pronunciation, vocabulary and grammar. For the classification of varieties of English in terms of pronunciation only, see Regional accents of English. Dialects can be defined as "sub-forms of languages which are, in general, mutually comprehensible". English speakers from different countries and regions use a variety of different accents (systems of pronunciation), as well as various localized words and grammatical constructions; many different dialects can be identified based on...

@MᴀʀsUʟᴛᴏʀ And words. And idioms. And...

TIL english have dialects

@LuisMendo cinco, porque cada persona en HK habla mandarin, cantones, y ingles

@LeakyNun :-O

10:18 AM
@TùxCräftîñg basically every language ever.

@LeakyNun Soy media español, pero no puedo entender esta frase completamente

So most languages have fewer differences between dialects?

@Katenkyo frase
@TùxCräftîñg quebec french vs france french vs switzerland french vs ...

@LeakyNun Thanks, I'm such a bad spanish speaker

:31104590 Hm. Ask a French about Canadians? :-)

10:19 AM
@LuisMendo There's so much diffenrences between french French and canadian French ^^

@Katenkyo Your sentence was perfect except "media" -> "medio"

@Katenkyo ca voulait dire "cinq, parce que chaque personne en HK parle mandarin, cantonais, et anglais"

@LeakyNun That was for an other sentence, which I'd translate to something like I speak french with some a buddy on this chat, I don't think there's a problem

@Katenkyo the biggest being pronunciation.
@Katenkyo "some a"?

@LuisMendo Wow, though I'd have much more faults
@LeakyNun only a, changed my mind while typing...

10:22 AM
@Katenkyo unos/unas = some

@LeakyNun pronunciation of all the english-based words too (or even what they are)

@Katenkyo Unless you are female, in that case it would be "medio española". The "a" would not go in "medio" anyhow

@LuisMendo why?

@Katenkyo in canada, no english words. only french. ONLY FRENCH.

@LeakyNun "medio" is an adverb there, so no gender inflection

10:23 AM
@TùxCräftîñg ???

@LuisMendo But had a doubt because of española if it had to ba a a or a o ^^ thanks for the explanation !
@LeakyNun hum, forgot that point

@Katenkyo Tu oubliais "entonces" qui veut dire "so" ou "then"

@TùxCräftîñg That's horrible, that's how words like courriel (e-mail) were born, and they sounds like deprecated since 1950...
@LeakyNun Actually, didn't remember what was this word
:31104678 Looks like I'm too hungry to type ^^
I'll go buy some food, see you later!

@Katenkyo au revoir

gooȸye
OMG I HAVE FOUND A USE TO ȸ

10:27 AM
@TùxCräftîñg what?

a obscure latin ligature

@LuisMendo interesante
@TùxCräftîñg i mean what's the use?

@TùxCräftîñg then what have you found?

but it look like db so i use it at the place of db

10:29 AM
@TùxCräftîñg I see

@Katenkyo bye, au revoir ^^

user214599

@zʏᴀʙiɴ101 Have you generated a new Totalistic CA of the Day yet using the methods outlined in Post 240.31095183?

Not yet.
Will do.
>>> stack.append(A)
>>> stack.append(B)
>>> stack
[10, 11]
>>> a()
>>> o()
21

Because B37/S45 still isn't going anywhere

god what i have done

A is 10, B is 11, and a() pops y, x: pushes x + y.
o() outputs the top of stack.

@zʏᴀʙiɴ101 I think you would need a shorthand for stack.append

10:53 AM
@LeakyNun pu? I also have e, h, j, l, n, t, v and y as one char functions.

The Treachery of Images (French: La trahison des images [la tʁaizɔ̃ dez imaʒ], 1928–29, sometimes translated as The Treason of Images) is a painting by the Belgian surrealist painter René Magritte. == Description == The picture shows a pipe. Below it, Magritte painted, "Ceci n'est pas une pipe.", French for "This is not a pipe." The famous pipe. How people reproached me for it! And yet, could you stuff my pipe? No, it's just a representation, is it not? So if I had written on my picture 'This is a pipe', I'd have been lying! == Context == Magritte painted The Treachery of Images when he was 30...

Just got kicked from a steam group of silvers.... priceless

@zʏᴀʙiɴ101 and I think you would need a function for eval, e.g. eval("abc") becomes a()b()c()

@LeakyNun New proposed additions implemented.

@zʏᴀʙiɴ101 nice

Push is h, and execute one char functions is e.
Wait a sec, applying these changes on Gist...

that way you can have more than ascii
if d is / then where is //?

@zʏᴀʙiɴ101 Perhaps numeric input/reading entire STDIN?

>>> h(P)
>>> h(Z)
>>> e("do")
1.0
d is now //.

then where is /?

@LeakyNun Nowhere, now implementing...
>>> h(P)
>>> j()
3
>>> e("lo")
1.0471975512
j is numeric input, and l is /.
Applying changes on Gist now...

If two messages are similar enough, the later message ninja'd the earlier one.
Similar is a criteria to specify, for example, by Levenshtein distance.

When did Matthew Rock appear?

(Too lazy to find the relevant meta post)

More precisely: Common Lisp has a nice regex library, but it's a library - it needs to be loaded.

I could do this with quicklisp: `(ql:quickload :cl-ppcre)` . However, quicklisp is other library - kind of like Perl's cpan. To install quicklisp, I need to run a interactive script from its site. Do I include `(ql:quickload :cl-ppcre)`, or do I treat the code like it already has proper setup?
@MatthewRoh define "appear"

@MatthewRock Also note that you have to count possible imports to the bytecount
