@RikerW Chat has no flag history. I remember that two posts got flagged, but not which ones.

@Dennis Probably because the answer to it is interesting
Typically, upvotes on really good answers overflow to the question somewhat
Also @Dennis I cleaned up Beep Boop Maggot a bit :P
Tell me if you want me to move any messages to the trash

I do often vote that way. My reasoning is "Thank you for asking that question because the answer you got was really good."

@El'endiaStarman Good. That means SE is working.

@quartata I don't really know what's on topic in Beep Boop Maggot, so I'll leave that up to you. :P

Just the flagging had to stop.

@Dennis Okay, stopped.

How do I found out what someone said in this room at any point?

@CᴏɴᴏʀO'Bʀɪᴇɴ Search?

yeah, that's what I meant, indeed. How can I endeavour to attempt such a fanciful dead as thus?

Uh, the search box in the upper-right (at least, on desktop mode)

I'm an idiot >_<

> fanciful dead as thus

Somebody is very self deprecating.

Wow, everyone is very hateful of themselves today.

I love how we three (me + TimmyD + Conor) had the same thought. :P

Eh, room culture.

challenge idea find the message with the most stars

apparently "i'm an idiot" is now a meme...

3:17 AM
@quintopia Hm....

BUT...I'm not an idiot

>_> someone just starred so many messages

yes
too many stars

@CᴏɴᴏʀO'Bʀɪᴇɴ I swear we had that ...

So, I've never said genius before?

Never.

@TimmyD I did, too

does anyone know a genius?

@RikerW The first two links go to the same place.

@RikerW by the way you posted the same link for me and dennis

Q: Who has the most stars in The Nineteenth Byte?

GamrCorpsNote: this challenge involves downloading and sifting through HTML webpages. If your language cannot handle this you might not want to participate in this challenge. Introduction There are always discussions over in The Nineteenth Byte Chat about who leads the starboard. So, lets help everyone ...

@TimmyD How did Alex A. get so many stars? I would expect many more
@Dennis Thanks.
@CᴏɴᴏʀO'Bʀɪᴇɴ Still never said genius though.

@RikerW I count two results for genius.

3:22 AM
@RikerW @AlexA. is occasionally funny

@CᴏɴᴏʀO'Bʀɪᴇɴ Correction, none from before this conversation.

For the record, I'm a genius idiot and an idiot genius
2

@RikerW yush :)

See, now @Timwi has two more genius results.

@TimmyD @AlexA. is funny o^o

That has much more results.

But note that so request help at your own peril :P

Even he agrees!!!

What's really sad? This is my most popular question, and it took three minutes of effort:
21
Q: Product over a range

Cᴏɴᴏʀ O'BʀɪᴇɴYour task is simple: given two integers a and b, output ∏[a,b]; that is, the product of the range between a and b. You may take a and b in any reasonable format, whether that be arguments to a function, a list input, STDIN, et cetera. You may output in any reasonable format, such as a return valu...

This is my least popular question:

Q: Lossy ASCII art compression

DennisBackground PICASCII is a neat tool that converts images into ASCII art. It achieves different degrees of brightness by using the following ten ASCII characters: @#+';:,.` We'll say that these charxels (character elements) have brightnesses from 1 (at-sign) to 10 (space). Below, you can see...

Took ages to write, no answers.

3:26 AM
I still think people who think that are sadder.

That seems to be common. The same is true of my answers, both here and on StackOverflow

@Dennis Hey, it's me!

Sort of. :D Flags were popular, and somebody said jokingly we should make a challenge for the Welsh one.

@Dennis I'll try to write a program for that.

@Timwi Yes, upvotes are inversely proportional to effort squared.
My most popular code golf answer:
147
A: The kitten command

DennisBash, 19 bytes cat "$@"|tr A-Z a-z The best way to make kittens is to use actual cats. Example run $ ./kitten kitten cat "$@"|tr a-z a-z

3:28 AM
My most popular. Took maybe 10 minutes to write. Hit HNQ and everything.
22
Q: Generate Monday Numbers

TimmyDMonday numbers, as defined by Gamow in this question over on Puzzling, are positive integers N with the following three properties: The decimal representation of N does not contain the digit 0 The decimal representation of N does not contain any digit twice N is divisible by every digit D that ...

@RikerW Looking forward to it. :)
There are answers I literally spent days on, yet the kitten I coughed up got me two golf badges.

@Dennis No guarantees. :P

No backsies.

I'll try my best though.

@Dennis Yeah. The whims of the masses are weird.

3:30 AM
My most popular question probably actually took the most effort.
48
Q: Black and White Rainbows

El'endia StarmanGiven an image that has only black and white pixels and an (x,y) location that's a white pixel, color the white pixels based on their minimal Manhattan distance from (x,y) in a path that only involves traversing other white pixels. The hue of the colored pixels must be proportional to their dist...

I like that one :D

Yeah, that is a really cool challenge

Interestingly, I think the same is true of my most popular answer:
21
A: Beatles Songs and Hexagons

El'endia StarmanBefunge-93, width = 13 15, titles = 31 24 chars A power outage last night prevented me from updating this when I figured it out, but I managed to reduce the triangle width and increase the song lengths! Pointing-up program: "Dig a Pony", 10 characters: v v> v# > "< v <>

> I'M SHOUTING AT YOU BECAUSE IT'S CHEAPER! source
2
Still my favorite thing I've put into an answer.

Not much love for PowerShell, huh?

3:33 AM
@TimmyD Why did you put that in?

Next most popular answer also took a lot of effort.

@RikerW The character-to-character difference between the symbols and the capital letters is smaller than the difference from symbols to lowercase letters, in that particular scoring system.

17
A: Carrots. So. Many. Carrots

El'endia StarmanMinkolang 0.10, Befunge-93, ><>; 3 2D languages, 321 bytes v[1]: http://i.stack.imgur.com/mecHl.png v[![][1]][1] >\$$>~:1+!#v_:"^"-#v_1>:34*`#v_v // ^ ,<0 < >:0g,1+v v# ,,:*52< ^+1 ,g1:<@_^#`*85:<1 >!v#(od"^"=,34*&34*[i1+1qO]!O$I)lO58*[i1+0qO]. >i:0(?v:"^"-?v1>

@RikerW That question was scored by Hamming weight, so uppercase letters achieved a better score.

Okay.

3:34 AM
Also:

A: Source code ecological footprint

DennisLenguage, 0 Output is in unary, since Lenguage/Brainfuck has no sane way of printing integers in base 10. The actual source code contains 223605599678244445677917099137136598260445583049693744517915142254904733730402123327574095535587581070850157973202762135155027962550827178026323991235020...

Or was that the binary one?

^^ Cheap in every sense of the word.

Oh yeah. That was an excellent answer.

How do you get the full block there? I mean in chat.

Just post the link.
It oneboxes.

A: Make the PPCG Logo

RikerWBrainfuck, 120,148 bytes This answer is now non-competitive. This was before the rules were changed, and this has absolutely no hope of winning as code-golf. Brainfuck code to output hex value of image. Very, very, long. Here is a pastebin link, and the first couple lines. https://paste.ee/p...

This took me forever. I wrote a python script to generate BF code to print it, but still.

Oh wow. At first I thought that was only 148 bytes and was wondering why you said it has no hope of winning the code golf. Then I realized it's actually 120,148 bytes. O_O

At first I actually thought it was 120,128, then another user corrected it.

@Dennis Oh yeah. That was the # of 1's in the source code. The "Difference should make no difference" challenge was at the same time, and I keep getting both of those confused.

And as you can see, BF takes a lot to print stuff.

Does this quiz think I'm a mod? I'm not sure if it accepted me as the correct answer.

The green/red boxes on the bottom of the screen are messed up.

OK now I get it, there are two correct answers.

I don't think I actually qualify because I am a mod... :P

@RikerW yeah, that's weird
@El'endiaStarman But people may be confused, as this is a PPCG quiz. Thus, partial credit ;)

3:45 AM
Where is part 1?

I cannot sleep, and since I can’t figure out why, I’m going to blame you guys.

3/7 :-p

BTW, VoteToClose is now FlagAsSpam.

3:49 AM
Oh, that must be why I got it wrong.

@El'endiaStarman I liked @VoteToClose ;-;

Me too.
