Which upper/lowercase A-Z letter is the least colon-emoticonable? :K :w?

Someone just make code that lists all the possible combinations.
So combine all the sideways eyes with mouths and possible noses and all the uppercase combos

@AlienG There's a website.

@CᴏɴᴏʀO'Bʀɪᴇɴ Lips facing to the side

@El'endiaStarman Need.

2:02 AM
Nice.

@phase really? I just posted it now...

A: Simple cat program

TanMathSeriously, 1 byte , In Seriously, the comma just takes in an input (stdin) and pushes it to the stack. When the program ends, it is implicit for the program to print it.

@TanMath I seriously don't know :P

.....φ(・∀・*)

2:03 AM
@AlienG Another.

Wait, that doesn't work @tanmath

@TanMath So you didn't test your code before posting it?

, reads a line of input

@ThomasKwa i know.. I thought it works...

@El'endiaStarman N😸T EN😹UGH!

2:04 AM
By the way, @Mego, the hexdump feature is nice

@AlienG Google 'em yourself!

@Calvin'sHobbies i didn't because i was extremely sure it worked... isn't popping to stdout implicit when the program ends?

@El'endiaStarman ;_ ;

Would it be possible to input into the hex box as well?

ಥ⌣ಥ

2:05 AM
it is not working!
@Mego @Mego your IDE is messed up! or you taught me Seriously incorrect!

@TanMath I don't know how Seriously works. It's your job to ensure your answers are correct.

i guess i will delete it...

Anonymous
@TanMath Your answer is not correct, and it's incredibly rude to try to snipe somebody when they say they are going to post an answer in a language. That's not a good way to get help from someone.

@Mego i asked.. you said something.. i didn't know what you meant..

Wait, have I answered cat yet in Seriously?

I'm not sure how anybody with a working brain could not understand that I intended to answer cat in Seriously from that.

2:09 AM
Even if you didn't know what "dibs" meant, a simple Google search would enlighten you. You have no excuse for your rudeness and immaturity.

@Mego I could understand. You'd have to say something a bit clearer like "I'm going to answer cat in Seriously." if you expect to be completely understood.

Wait, @Mego ,$W.,$ isn't working for me for non-numeric input in the online interpreter

Anonymous
@ThomasKwa Yeah, it's a bug with how strings are parsed that I discovered while writing that. I'm working on a fix.

By the way, will you answer the gamma function question in Seriously?

Anonymous
@ThomasKwa HAHAHAHAHahahahahahano

2:13 AM
why? Is it ill-suited?

Anonymous
@ThomasKwa Very

It's...actually surprisingly easy when you use the infinite product form.

can i try?

Dibs!

me saying can i try means i claimed it.. doesn't it?
@Geobits do you know seriously?

2:18 AM
Seriously, don't listen to Geobits.

I seriously don't.

ok.. good! dibs!

@TanMath Sorry, you didn't utter the sacred phrase "dibs"

@ThomasKwa i just did!

oh, I guess you did while I was typing that

2:19 AM
But I already said dibs!

/me curses his slow fingers

Just because I don't know it doesn't mean I can't try, right? :P

@Geobits so now we need to wait for you to learn the lang?

Yes, but I'm probably not going to tonight. I've got a bit of a headache, and golfing/esolangs aren't good for that in my experience. I just wanted to dibs it for no good reason.
But seriously, I'm not going to learn Seriously any time that could seriously be called soon. So in all seriouslyness, go for it.
2

@Geobits ok!

2:23 AM
Also, dibs on everything.
All the things.
Seriously.

All of them?

All of them.
Except nethack. You can have that.

:D

It's not worth dibsing, and I'm not greedy.

So, if you're dibsing all the things (except NetHack)... what about the stuff?

2:26 AM
Doorknob's reaction to Geobits saying that nethack is not worth dibsing:

That's tricky. I mean, I like stuff, and I'd love to have some of it. But I don't know that I want all the stuff.

(I think.)

Hopefully Doorknob knows me better than that ;)
In truth I want him to continue enjoying his "it's the only game" nethack, but I need to keep up the appearance of Geobits, so...

Who are you and what have you done with Geobits?

Besides, it would just go to waste if I dibsed it. I don't play it because it's a terrible game.

2:29 AM
Wait...are you... Geoborts?!
Actually, isn't that Doorknob's sock? That would make no sense.

@Geobits mmhmm... hovers over suspend button
@El'endiaStarman I only have one sock. And it's NotMe. :P

Geoborts is Calvin's Chat Relay (or was, briefly).

AH, that's right.

@orlp I use X11 forwarding all the time. Love it
Most unappreciated feature of SSH

X10 is fun

2:33 AM
@Geobits nethack geobits -> teat be shocking

@ThomasKwa I fixed it :D The answer is going to be different though

@CᴏɴᴏʀO'Bʀɪᴇɴ 666?

@VoteToClose I sure did :-)

hi @AGazer'sYacht

is that... is that you, @ZachGates?
The anagram doesn't seem to work...

2:37 AM
ZacharyGates works, though

ah. :P

:P
How could you tell it was me?

huh

Your profile pretty much gives it away even if we didn't know :P

@AGazer'sYacht magic. Also, profile pictures. :P

2:38 AM
my profile picture is a yacht

2k rep here with a twitter name of zachgates7... hmmm....

oh, yes
;)
@Geobits What twitter account?...

The one you just took off your profile, clearly :P

What profile?...

2:40 AM
um what

@AGazer'sYacht I'm going to assume you're older than six, so I don't have to continue the 'why/what' game :P

@Geobits It was more of the "what" game :P

Incidentally, that message is now tied for most stars across chat.SE. (The other 45-star message is in a moderator-only chatroom, though.)

@AGazer'sYacht Why? What did I say?

2:41 AM
If I already starred it, does that mean I can't celebrate?

@Doorknob I'm amazed 45 people visit this chatroom over the course of 3 days...
7

I was thinking the same thing.

@Calvin'sHobbies Me too. We usually only have 5-10 active users at a time. O_o

Even counting socks, I didn't think the room was that popular.

2:43 AM
@Geobits Do I get points for not having starred it?

@Calvin'sHobbies watch as this gets 45 stars

Time for someone to be banned :/

@Calvin'sHobbies -10 points for not starring it

slowly removes stars

@Geobits You don't have to count socks if you buy all identical socks and keep them in pairs.

I'm stuck being @AGazersYacht for a whole month..
poor choices

@AlexA. Yea, I pretty much do that. I didn't think everyone did though.

I'm glad I won't ever be tempted to give in to the anagram madness

@AGazer'sYacht hahaha, but I think you can change your name back by changing it on another site and telling it to update your profile network-wide

Anonymous
Good luck finding an interesting anagram out of 4 letters

2:45 AM
Shhhhh

we'll see..

@Mego Egmo

@Doorknob Shush @DorkNoob

Except why would I keep them in pairs if they're all the same? At that point you can just throw them in a pile in the drawer.

Anonymous
@AlexA. Dumb

2:46 AM
Umm...

@Doorknob I can confirm that this works

@AGazer'sYacht Yes, those are absolutely the same four letters

in the east?

Now I'm Hobbes' Calvin

Aww, it's so close to being an anagram :(

A tiger and his boy.

@Doorknob I'm on the west coast, silly. I can't be the slowest in the east.

East Pacific

2:50 AM
@AlexA. well, if you start from Houston where I am and you go east, you'll eventually get there...

Now I should be back to normal

refreshed

what kind of face is that O_o

:F

Anonymous
2:51 AM
@AlexA. You're on the west coast, which is 3 hours behind the east coast. You are two hours slow in the east, so it's reasonable that you're the slowest in the east.

I think it depends on how you change it to start with. If you change it network wide (I think), then it doesn't allow you to do the other-site-workaround. Believe me, I tried several times to do mine.

@Mego 3 hours

@Calvin'sHobbies Err yeah

@AlexA. me on teh dailies, also this. O no longer requires o to output

2:55 AM
What's the time limit for each move? A round robin with ten matches between each pair will be quite long without a very short limit. But a very short one will discourage deep play.

@phase What is O without o?

@AlexA. I do that too...

@Calvin'sHobbies It's more like 15 people and Alex's sock drawer

@El'endiaStarman we all do

@El'endiaStarman the only way scrubs like us get votes ;-;

2:56 AM
No we all don't >_>

@phase I read O's source
no offense, but it's a fucking mess

@Mego you need a time limit

@Geobits I was being consoling

there's a time and place for code golf, and a serious interpreter is not it =/

@orlp He knows. It's kind of a running joke at this point.

2:56 AM
What's a reasonable time limit for a turn? 1 minute? 30 seconds?

1 second

@Doorknob nope... /:

One second, max imo

@orlp You're late to the party, @AlexA. already criticized it ;-;

But this is Java

2:57 AM
Java isn't slow....

You're going to have tons of entries

@AGazer'sYacht really? @Calvin just did it.

@Mego java wait what where kill it now with fire

well, you might

@Geobits Long-time members get the benefit of name recognition. I think Minkolang's novelty has kinda worn off...

2:57 AM
@phase ah

Anonymous
I have no issue with leaving it running overnight

15 entries means 105 games

@Doorknob You can do it quickly, but if you leave it for too long, it solidifies

Anonymous
@orlp Hey, don't talk smack about my interpreter

How many turns is an average game?

2:58 AM
@AGazer'sYacht oh. Want me to change it back for you?

wait what

@ThomasKwa No, 10 games per pair.

yes, please

phase has 1.3k projects starred on github

Anonymous
@Geobits Usually around 50. So, a minute might be excessive

2:58 AM
@AGazer'sYacht You need to go to another SE site, and reupdate your network profile as well

@Geobits Wait, isn't it deterministic?

Anonymous
I'll do 10 seconds

Doesn't seem to ban random

@ThomasKwa Moves might be random?

@ZachGates ok, well I changed it back

2:58 AM
Basically ninja'd.

@bigtoes :P

I hadn't considered randomness; I guess it could be advantageous
With 10 games per pair, you're up to 1k games

It's certainly a valid strategy.

@Doorknob thanks very much

10 seconds/move * 50ish moves/game * 1k games = a week or so
