I want to format my system; I have both 64 bit edition of 12.04 and 32bit edition of 12.04.
I want to know which version would be better performance wise if install 32 bit with PAE kernel or 64 bit.
I have 6G Ram and i3 processer(2nd gen).
that one is a beast that i started working on but never finished. basically you have to manually include all the maven dependencies (which sort of defeats the purpose of maven). if you can get to "offline install" then you can get it working, but some maven packages are forbidden on LP
it's fine. mine was a voting auto-comment. either way, a comment was posted asking how they were similar then deleted when i responded. either way. it should be closed as one of the two

I'm investigating whether it's worth the effort of setting up a recipe in Launchpad to create a PPA for OpenERP that includes the official source code along with our custom modules. Has anyone done this for OpenERP or another software package? Was it worth the effort? Is there an easy guide to th...
sweet, the automation for screencap to DVD actually works \o/...and it doesn't matter how long it is (most solutions bork over 45 minutes or so at least on my laptop). 2 + hours from screen to dvd with one command :)
i've always done it in the other direction. you're running it locally and trying to pull? i've always pushed. if you're logged in to ssh on the server it should know some your mac hostname magic. i forget where to check that
I am on machine A and want to pull a file from machine B.
A$ scp <myuserid>@hostB:<path of file in B> .
it says that:
scp: <path of file in B>: No such file or directory
But on machine B, this file exists in this path.
What is going wrong?
that's from host, not already ssh connected, pulling via scp from server "B"
if you're sshed in it would look something like: `scp -r /home/guarddogsystem/public_html/guarddoggps localuseronyourlaptop@hostnameofyourlaptop:/Users/USER_02/Downloads/`
I'm wondering if it is possible to specify, that all connections (even future, like when using wifi at some other place (=different SSID)) will be using pre-defined DNS server
When I have some (concrete) connections, I could go to IPv4 settings, and specify DNS server there (however, in case of ...
While I think this answer has serious shortcomings, nonetheless I find I cannot bring myself to downvote it. I just don't want it to be removed (even by its author).
How important is this test? It seems it isn't important enough to find a different computer to run it on.
Is it important enough to buy some liquid Nitrogen? Liquid Nitrogen is fairly easy to get and not really expensive. If you set a tub of that below your laptop I imagine the cool vapors would...
This question is about how to use ping properly:
Why can't I ping "http:/ushou-appeng01/ufm/...."?
The user is not asking:
why a particular site does not respond to pings. The OP expected that it should, and that the problem is on the client machine. The OP was correct (though...
This answer is an example of an answer that is just a link, and to a page that requires a user account just to view.
Creating an account on that external site is free. You can even log in with a Launchpad SSO account. And it's even an official Ubuntu resource.
(In case that answer is removed or...

I'm using lubuntu 11.10, and I use my console a lot. Today I discovered that its font was changed; specifically, this screen is from yesterday:
and this is from today:
First of all, any idea of how I changed it? I'm pretty sure I did nothing to justify this, but I'm also certain that if som...
