@cl-netbox Cubic appears to be a program to create ISO's. Although they can create a Ubuntu ISO they can create it for other distro's as well. Plus they could create ISO's for non-Linux OS's using Cubic. Isn't such a program off-topic here?
@WinEunuuchs2Unix They created an Ubuntu ISO that has the proprietary nVidia drivers that get installed on run, in order to support their graphics card. They're having issues with that driver and logging in. The question isn't about the program, and they didn't ship their own Ubuntu, they just added a package to the ISO. How's that offtopic?
@cl-netbox Truth be told when others have already nominated a question for CV I don't research it as deeply as when I'm the first or second on board the CV train... Why do you think it should be reopened?
@ThomasWard No way to retract CV but if some vote to reopen I'll jump on the reopen band wagon. Keep in mind that if custom kernels are OT just when they are newer and fix existing bugs, then custom ISO's, which can be drastically different and EXTREMELY CUSTOM, being on topic seems contradictory.
@WinEunuuchs2Unix Thank you for your honest words ! :) I am just aware that the race for "VTC" takes up speed more and more ... especially here in the chat room ... and I guess that many others do the same that you did ! Am I totally wrong or shouldn't we first of all try to carefully check the real validity of questions and answers ?
hey, mistakes happen. God knows I've made my fair share. Lets just make sure we aren't turning closing questions into a goal here, because that should never happen :-)
Gee reducing CV queue is a goal here.... naaaa never seen that in this chat room ;)
Anyway why doesn't someone migrate that question to meta, copy and paste the text above into answer and solicit more community input on if question should be reopened? (being one of the accused I can't do it :p)
@WinEunuuchs2Unix Sorry, don't understand ... I just took this as an example ... You can find so many questions being dupe closed with a comment pointing to way outdated Qs and As, right as if this would be the main goal of AU ! :)
@cl-netbox I was being facetious... sorry bad humour is my calling-card... I agree about CV'ing to an old dupe, ie this is a 16.04 problem and the dup is from 12.04, is concerning.
@cl-netbox German monsters have a sense of status/nobility that can make them think that way... Refugees / economic migrants should be trying harder to fit in... then their kids get the sense of entititlement... but not the first generation.
@WinEunuuchs2Unix For me it is completely unimportant where someone comes from ... you are accidentally born somewhere ... important is the character of every single human being ...
KSA & Qatar may have been good at bribing Obama, Clinton and McCain to do their bidding in Syria proxy invasion, but they'll have a harder time bribing Trump I think.
Anyway you look at it, this is a great chat room to drop into whilst you are playing around on your computer doing other things... then toggle back in here from time to time to see if there is anything interesting going on.
@WinEunuuchs2Unix Yes, that's true, so let's concentrate on the positive aspects and help other users on Ask Ubuntu who come here looking for assistance ! :)
@Fabby nah, the joke there was that on youtube there is a channel called "Game Theorists" and the host ends every video with phrase: " But hey it's just a theory . . . a game theory" . . . That's what Seth did there, and I get his reference ;)
Meanwhile, the DerpWolf is listening to Hyuna's "Morning Glody", having coffee and fried dumplings
@WinEunuuchs2Unix I have a BQ Aquaris Ubuntu phone (currently running Android as I needed Slack, which didn't exist for even Ubuntu at the time, let alone Ubuntu Touch)
thats sad --> rt.com/news/371953-child-abuse-helpline-ireland An Irish child helpline received more than 1,000 calls on Christmas Day, with children reporting domestic violence and alcohol abuse in their homes.
@jokerdino I might need to change my priorities. I wanted to get setup.py fixed first, but that's not happening. Maybe putting in some logic so that it doesn't crash and burn when the schemas don't exist should be next.
Not really. Most of my scrips and indicators are all on github or AU. I also have copy of matlab installed which cost me a bit and my tail implementation and gpg key , thats the only 3 important things @IanC
