:P

no suspense LOL
UN now has a G+ page!!!
/OT

@jokerdino are you the peep that emailed social@2buntu.com
?

I didn't email anything.
I just signed up.
What was the email about?

brb quick - switching to chromium

@jokerdino nothing just wondering...

11:04 PM
You should ask @RolandTaylor about it.

I would but he is just a "random person" remember?

He invited me. :/

jrg
@TheX yeah, Roland invited @jokerdino.

Hey, I am not a bad guy.

jrg
Ah, but you are(n't)!

11:10 PM
That is good, I try not to be...

o_O

whoops did I say that outloud?
either my cup is leaking or I am hallucinating...

it can be both

I suppose it could be.. couldn't it...
I should ask my wife to confirm whether my cup is leaking or not...

you changed your PP

11:16 PM
OHHHHHHHHHHHH you meant my picture!!!!!!!!!!!!

What did you think?

Nothing, nevermind...

I missed your deleted msg.

That is good...
So how long have you been using Ubuntu/Linux?

Have been ardently using it since this year June.
But I have tried it a couple of times before.

11:19 PM
Cool

Including installing WUbI in my sister computer
and getting bashed for the next couple of weeks ;(

I have been using it for 10 years probably...
but still stuck at it because I work as a Windows network administrator

Ubuntu for 10 years? You are kidding

No not ubuntu
Ubuntu hasn't been around for 10 years
I meant Linux

Hmm yeah.

11:20 PM
But I have probably used every distro you have heard of, and some you haven't

I have heard of a lot.
Gentoo, arch, red hat, debian, fedora, ubuntu flavours, linux mint.
open suse, slackware.
pretty much yeah

I have tried all those but red hat...

actually i have heard of red hat when i was 12~ years old
GNU and those things were crazy popular in India.

Yeah Red Hat is huge in the corporate world..

I guess so
But, these days, it isn't that famous.
ppl are talking about apple and androids

11:26 PM
Yeah on the consumer side, server-side is another whole world... it is either Windows, or some flavor of linux...

On the server, it is still red hat

jrg
@jokerdino IDK, I get more questions about Ubuntu server than red hat at this point.
Wow, 4 minutes to download 4 MB of a Fedora ISO.
What is wrong with this world?

I am guessing that is because people are already familiar with Red hat server?

@jrg its not the world, it is your internet.
and maybe the fact that it is yummy...
2

jrg
@TheX Nope, my internet is fine. Fedora's servers are getting hammered though...
Ok, time to reboot into lucid so I can use a VM.

11:34 PM
I liked my second reason the best

jrg
Same here.

Great answer: How can I prevent someone from resetting my password with a Live CD? http://askubuntu.com/questions/76987/how-can-i-prevent-someone-from-resetting-my-password-with-a-live-cd/76988#76988 #security

It's the fact that Fedora 16 got released today? (I think)

@RolandTaylor yo!!!!!!!!!!!!
you know what else got released today?

jrg
@RolandTaylor It's fact.

11:40 PM
@TheX no?
Something good?
@jrg oh nice

I did.... from the FUNNY FARM!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

jrg
They borrow from us much? - ask.fedoraproject.org/questions :P

XD
@jrg FAIL!

jrg
Upvote, downvote, favorite, everything except edits is there.

They should have done it on S.E

jrg
11:41 PM
`
15 upvote
50 add comments
100 downvote
50 accept own answer to own questions
250 open and close own questions
500 retag other's questions
750 edit community wiki questions
2000 "edit any answer
2000 "delete any comment`
their permissions.
Each vote in favor will generate 10 points, each vote against will subtract 1 points.

hmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm

jrg
dude, I want to use Fedora now! Looks like an easy way to get lots of rep and become a leader in a community!

Fedora has a site too?

jrg
`Why other people can edit my questions/answers?
Goal of this site is... So questions and answers can be edited like wiki pages by experienced users of this site and this improves the overall quality of the knowledge base content. If this approach is not for you, we respect your choice.`
Ok, where's the source code for this site?
HAHAHAH IT WONT LET ME SIGNUP WITH MY LAUNCHPAD OPENID.

Fail.

I be puzzled
It looks like AskBot is almost a clone of Stefano's work...

jrg
11:44 PM
Ooohhh... it's not "reputation", it's "karma".

Where does this lead to?!

jrg
Askbot is an open source Q&A forum written in Python and Django with over 2 years of development.
Ok, where's teh codez?!

Askbot grew out of CNPROG project originally written by Mike Chen and Sailing Cai.
@jrg exactly
Is S.E. open source (not to my knowledge)?

jrg
@RolandTaylor SE is not open source.

hmmm
scratches head

11:46 PM
Nothing is open source, and stuff that claims to be open source is evil!

hahaa

jrg
Oh my, this is a SE clone through and through.

my pen is open source
2

jrg
@RolandTaylor guess what?! the search sucks more! It IS possible to have a suckier search than AUbuntu!

@jrg lies!

jrg
11:49 PM
Ok, time to migrate all the Ask Fedora stuff to the 2buntu room. :P

I have a pen that is open source, and one that is closed source, I even have a notebook that is closed source...

jrg
cc @MarcoCeppi

NOOO
Not there!

I wish we could migrate our own messages

11:49 PM
put it in the troll room or something
troll bridge

oi Marco - nice interview btw

i never knew marco had chubby cheeks LOL

@MarcoCeppi yo. whas up?

thanks :)

11:52 PM
@MarcoCeppi has more then chubby cheeks...

@RolandTaylor why are you not a Ubuntu member?

@RolandTaylor yeah why not?

I am quite round in real life, as is indicated by the videos

@jrg that ask.fedoraproject.org code is nothing new

jrg
I know.

11:53 PM
which makes @MarcoCeppi a all around good guy...

jrg
It's just like, wow.

Quite round? O.O

ask.debian.net used to look far more similar to SE sites as well

@jokerdino I have not applied as yet

@RolandTaylor we should apply together so we can both get rejected together!

jrg
11:54 PM
ask debian looks better than ask fedora.
At least debian tried to be different.

Oli
Yeah before Shapado pulled its finger out and started working on design.

@TheX haha

jrg
the ask fedora guys just plain borrowed everything.

Oli
@jrg They didn't. They used a piece of off the shelf software that did.

jrg
My questions still doesn't have an answer. :(

11:55 PM
Or you will get accepted and I will get rejected... (that is how my life works)

jrg
@Oli I still don't like it. :P

poor you.

@jrg what is your question?

jrg
@TheX Where can I get Fedora+1?

@jrg you can't it doesn't exist?

jrg
11:56 PM
I don't know, that's why I asked.

What is Fedora+1 anyways?

jrg
Development version of fedora.
No clue if that's what it's called or not. :P

@RolandTaylor POKE

Oh,,
So... like a daily build?

@Explorer hey :D

11:58 PM
@jrg it's called rawhide - fedoraproject.org/wiki/Releases/Rawhide
