HTM
12:32 AM
@Sphinx Bounty posted for this puzzle - hopefully it'll gain more traction now that the weekend is over

Hello everyone! Please rate my personal project (a child of Room to Grow)! ^^

@HTM i gave it a shot and wasn't able to get the main aha - i can see what the theme is (or at least one part of it), but couldn't figure out what to do with the actual clue answers (which i have just over half of)

HTM
@Deusovi OK, don't want to spoil too much at this stage, but I assume you've taken a look at the pieces already?

yes, and i've noticed the correspondence you're probably referring to, but am not sure how to proceed with it (or how to disambiguate further)

HTM
I will say that the colors are important, and if you think you have the theme then it may help to take a look at them again

oh

HTM
BTW I will admit that I don't know how difficult the puzzle really is, since I had to rush this puzzle out and couldn't get a test solve, so apologies if the "aha" step is too obscure or not well-clued

4:38 AM
oh i think i might see something

HTM
Deus sees something... everyone watches with bated breath...

have to find the right one though...

4:53 AM
not seeing it at the moment - best one i can find is twice the size it looks like it should be

HTM
@Deusovi I think you may be on the right track, in which case I'll tell you that it's entirely original but might still be figured out from the given colors and existing examples, unless again I completely misjudged the difficulty of this step

that sounds... incredibly difficult
there are so many ways to assemble this many pieces, and i don't even know which colors transfer to which pieces
i may be missing something that would help me here, but i would be very surprised if this was possible to figure out even using computer search to help

Yeesh, Deus back at it again, back with another challenge. A challenge for Deus is impossible for anyone else

for comparison, there are 18712 solutions to "place the 12 pentominoes into a 6×10 grid"

@PrinceNorthLæraðr thank you - i'll be honest, it does make me slightly uncomfortable at times. i appreciate being held in high regard, but i would prefer not to be put on a pedestal in that way - i am an actual person

HTM
@Deusovi Agh, I figured someone would have this difficulty at some point... I think I may need to re-upload the images to add numbers so that solvers know exactly which words correspond to which clues

5:06 AM
even with given correspondence i think it would be essentially impossible
unless there's an extra constraint i'm missing (which there very well may be)

HTM
On the assembly front, I will say that yes, you're probably missing something very important
But if you think it'll help you and other solvers out, I can add clue numbers to make things a little easier

hm
it would likely help if i had more answers

HTM
I'll repeat again that the colors are important and they relate to the overall theme of the puzzle

yes, i know that
i know what the colors mean
but i think even given that it would still be very difficult to Do The Thing - it's a pretty vague constraint, and there are many many ways to fit pieces together

HTM
I know you know what the colors do, but that was more to nudge you into thinking about how the assembly part would work

5:11 AM
@HTM Btw, you still haven't accepted the answer of your "Fortune tellers have dinner" puzzle
It really bothers me

@HTM yeah, i think i know what you mean by that - using the colors to try to assemble various features? the trouble is that that's a pretty vague constraint still

HTM
@Anonymus25-ReinstateMonica Meh, I really don't want to go back to that puzzle, because the central mechanism behind it is not that great and involves something that is not really encouraged here on PSE

(oh, also, i get 169 squares in the blanks in the image, but 170 squares in the pieces)

HTM
@Deusovi Ooh, I'll take a look at that real quick
@Deusovi You'd definitely need a good reference image for what it could be, and if you have the right one then it might get a little easier? Idk, you're basically my playtester right now lol

there are many many potential reference images

Q: Vowels, consonants and Mathematical Shapes

JKHAYour aim is first to select at least three different planar shapes. For instance, you could select "a losange", "a disk" and "two lines". You must then ensure that, the number of all consonnants is exactly twice the number of vowels. For my previous example, there are 2 L, 3 S, 2 N, a G, a D, a ...
