@rahuldottech Not a fair comparison.
See, I get the same behaviour from SU ... until the image reaches viewport width, at which point it stops increasing size.
The image you picked started small enough that it doesn't hit viewport width at max zoom.
If you force a smaller viewport ... it causes horizontal scrolling.
That's really all it's about; whether images should be allowed to overflow the container.
With browser zoom implementation, to the site there's no difference in viewport size between a large display zoomed in and a small display. So if you try to "optimise" for the large viewport with zoom, you end up with horizontal scroll by default for anyone with a smaller screen. Not nice at all.
I've said it before, the only way to get the behaviour you want is for the browser to treat zoom differently.
Try your same test with a larger image.

@barlop - I have checked various VMs, multiple different editions, the default entry only indicates Windows 10.

yeah this is certain, thanks
verified earlier too by that first commenter, also michael and journeyman
btw this (other) question you thought was a duplicate was clearly not superuser.com/questions/1474976/…

As to the reason I flagged your more recent question as a duplicate, that only due to the answer you submitted, which did not provide any new information that the existing answer didn't already provide. I mean you literally used the duplicate's screenshot.

I had already mentioned why it was not a duplicate of that question you thought it was a dup of
the existing answer was to a closed question
besides the closed question being different
A closed question is considered not useful to people.
the answer was useful, but is much better in a question that is not closed

I am not going to argue. We will see if 4 other users agree with me or not.

so you flagged my question(which was not a duplicate of that other question), for closing

1:43 AM
I believe it to be a duplicate of an existing question.
I really dislike when a user calls out another singular user, with an edit to their question due to a single close vote, makes it way to personal for my taste.

2:00 AM
My head hurts....

uhm. Morning
@barlop eh, folks should be allowed to vote as they see fit without worrying if someone's going to fuss on chat.
If it does get closed, there's always meta.
also, the situation with IGPs is fun
Before sandy bridge, and AMD's APUs an IGP is a seperate chip on the motherboard, connected to the same bus as the video card port
so it was one or the other, and using a discrete video card would completely and automatically disconnect the onboard video
with SB or IB there's a specific setting (which carries on to newer intel cards)
Not sure how AMD does it
But you could, say, find a intel board with onboard s3 or nvidia graphics

@Bob Yeah, I set up one with a larger image at /2.html
> With browser zoom implementation, to the site there's no difference in viewport size between a large display zoomed in and a small display.
Yep, this is definitely the thing causing all my problems :(

Bob
@rahuldottech that's not big
taken from a 12MP camera, size 4,032px × 3,024px
that's the real situation sites with UGC need to deal with

Yeah I see the problem

Bob
user generated content
basically the difference between having random shit users upload vs a vetted team

> “As we have stated, Greenland is not for sale,” a spokesperson for the Danish government said on Friday. “We have noted, however, that during the Trump regime pretty much everything in the United States, including its government, has most definitely been for sale.”
Ouch.

.... oh god the burn
Even of its probably fake XD

Lap just told me that in 30 minutes, it will sleep (while it is chaging) but I checked the battery icon and it needed over two hours to reach full chargee. When shall I figure out this calculus?

8:29 AM
Who uses VeraCrypt?

Vera?

VeraCrypt

Eh. I was joking. Vera is a common female name ...
Dame Vera Margaret Lynn (née Welch; born 20 March 1917) is an English singer of traditional pop, songwriter and actress, whose musical recordings and performances were enormously popular during the Second World War. She is widely known as "the Forces' Sweetheart" for giving outdoor concerts for the troops in Egypt, India, and Burma during the war as part of Entertainments National Service Association (ENSA). The songs most associated with her are "We'll Meet Again", "The White Cliffs of Dover", "A Nightingale Sang in Berkeley Square" and "There'll Always Be an England". She remained popular after...

Yeah.

9:13 AM
Aunt Vera. Ben 10. It is common.

9:30 AM
@Boris_yo Diceware must be a pain. Why not use KeePass.
@DavidPostill It's befitting of a great-aunt or any other look-anywhere in the 2nd degree of a tree search. In the old days, on the grid, we used to call those rows and columns. Times do change.
@Ave thanks for all the information, I'll be looking up the presentations online. Might not be as informative as you though.
Waits for @DavidPostill to bite..
Mathematical! See ya next time :)

10:16 AM
@Nick bites

2 hours later…
12:01 PM
@JourneymanGeek He might be biting, but I am not going to respond to a post that seems at first sight to be nonsense. I've no idea what tree searching has got to do with anything recently discussed.

Oh god.
So this new friend of mine really likes to use emoji
Now up to a certain point emoji are tolerable, but she really uses them too much so I asked her to cut down on them and maybe give emoticons a shot
But now she's using all these exotic emoticons as often as she used emoji and honestly it's not much better

The last of my friends left today
Off to Canada

...and the fingerprint reader and TPM are here. Let's see what the TPM's firmware version is...
...it is 5.63. Fantastic. I won't need to update the firmware.
Let's clear the TPM (just in case) and reboot.
TPM provisioned, fingerprint scanner installed. So far, so good.
IT WORKS \o/

8:53 PM
Well... I've managed to trip the TPM's anti-hammering protection.
Now I need to restart the computer to use the PIN.
That worked as designed. Hardware-enforced security FTW!

9:17 PM
Now all three of my current PCs have Windows Hello \o/

10:07 PM
@rahuldottech Sometimes we just have to put up with the things people do that annoy us.
